She tilted her head, her eyes beneath her brown bangs gleaming with a mad scientist's light: "After all, there are cat-eating rats in the world, aren't there?"
The tone made it seem like they were discussing an ordinary topic, but the hidden meaning made Conan and Hattori Heiji feel like they were facing a formidable enemy, and cold sweat instantly broke out on their foreheads.
They knew all too well how terrifying this woman was—Yu Nan might only steal his girlfriend and mother, at most making them lose face, but this ruthless little girl would really use them as experimental subjects to play with them to death!
Kaito, however, remained unconvinced: "Little sister, it's dangerous here. Go find your brother..."
"Wait, Ai Haibara!" Conan tried to reason with her. "Didn't we agree not to do human experimentation?"
"Yeah, yeah!" After so many painful lessons, Hattori Heiji didn't dare to show off anymore and hurriedly nodded frantically along with Conan. "I'm still young, I don't want to become a guinea pig!"
Ai ignored him and raised the shrinking lamp.
"Please do me a small favor, consider it a sacrifice for science."
Her voice remained cool and clear, yet it brooked no argument.
"I refuse!"
Although Kaito was unaware of what was going on, his instincts told him that he had to run away immediately.
However, it was too late.
"Whoosh—"
A flash of blue light appeared.
Kaito felt a sudden dizziness, and when his vision returned, he was horrified to find that he had shrunk to the size of a mouse!
Conan and Heiji Hattori also shrunk to miniature sizes. The three of them stood on the edge of the sink, staring in disbelief at Ai Haibara, who had suddenly become enormous. It felt as if they were in a land of giants.
"What...what the hell is this?!" Kaito's voice trembled.
“Science,” Ai Haibara replied calmly, walking to the window.
"Hey! Heiji Hattori panicked, waving his hands in an attempt to get Ai's attention and get her to let him go. "Grandma, this joke has gone too far!"
Conan looked utterly despairing: "I knew it..."
Before Kaito could react, a little girl gracefully opened the bathroom window, and a fluffy ragdoll cat nimbly jumped in, landing silently with its amber eyes curiously examining the three "little mice."
