Chapter 922 Strategic Compromise

Bright sunlight streamed into the villa's dining room through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Akemi Miyano, wearing an apron embroidered with cute floral patterns, was humming a cheerful tune as she busied herself in the kitchen.

The eggs sizzled in the frying pan, the aroma of bacon filled the space, and a rich chicken soup was simmering in a clay pot, bubbling and steaming.

"Add some goji berries..." she muttered to herself, taking a small jar from the cupboard. "Young Master Yuzuru must have worked hard last night; he needs some nourishment."

The little maid had a meaningful smile on her lips.

As the villa's veritable "head housekeeper," Akemi Miyano knew everything about the villa's affairs, and she naturally knew what had happened last night.

Young Master Yuzuru did not return home all night, and the commotion coming from the shrine... cough cough, although she did not witness it with her own eyes, based on some subtle signs and past experience, she could roughly guess what was going on. In short, Miss Junhui was probably about to officially become "family".

Thinking of this, she added a few more slices of ginseng to the chicken soup.

...

In the living room, Ai was sitting on the sofa, holding a glass of warm milk in one hand and casually flipping through the morning newspaper with the other. Her delicate face was slightly puffed up, clearly indicating that she was not in a good mood.

"snort......"

She gave a soft hum, glancing occasionally toward the kitchen.

Judging from the lavish breakfast her older sister prepared today, her clever little brain probably guessed something—another "naive girl" is about to fall for that guy, Yuzuru Nanami.

"That womanizing deity..."

The little girl pouted and muttered to herself.

Although she had long understood that Yuzuru wouldn't only have the two sisters by her side, she still felt a subtle, bittersweet, and somewhat uncomfortable feeling every time she thought about someone else joining this "big family."

In other words, he was jealous.

However, the proud and aloof little girl would never admit that she gets jealous.

But the newspaper in her hands was like an innocent object of her venting, rustling as it was turned over.

"Snap—"

Just then, the glass door to the backyard was pushed open, and Yuzuru walked in with leisurely steps, carrying a beautiful calico cat in his arms.

"Meow~" The cat meowed lazily and nestled obediently in his arms, a purple talisman hanging around its neck, gleaming faintly in the sunlight.

"Good morning, young master~" Akemi peeked out from the kitchen, greeting him with a smile. Her gaze lingered on the cat for a second before she asked curiously, "Where is Miss Junhui?"

"It's here."

Yu Sheng Nan smiled and patted the cat's head.

"Meow~" The calico cat meowed at the opportune moment and elegantly flicked its tail.

Ai Haibara put down her newspaper and noticed the talisman on the cat's neck—a monkey pattern, not a snake or a horse.

"A new spell?" She raised an eyebrow.

“That’s right, the Monkey Talisman.” Yuzuru snapped his fingers, a flash of purple light appeared, and the calico cat instantly transformed back into Kimie Shimabukuro’s appearance.

The shrine maiden's hair was still a little messy, with a few strands falling casually beside her cheeks, adding to her languid beauty. However, her shrine maiden outfit was spotless—it seemed she had tidied it up before transforming.

"Ugh..." Junhui stood up with a flushed face, clearly a little embarrassed about suddenly turning back into human form. A pair of fluffy cat ears remained on her head, and her tail swayed restlessly.

"What is this...?" Akemi blinked.

"It can transform into any animal, and can even partially transform into an animal." Yuzuru Nan explained the Monkey Talisman's abilities simply.

Upon hearing this, Ai's eyes lit up instantly, and she even forgot about her milk: "Anything?"

"Hmm~" Yuzuru raised an eyebrow smugly, "Want to give it a try?"

Ai immediately jumped off the sofa, not even bothering to put on her slippers, and ran barefoot to Yuzuru Nanami: "I want it!"

"No way!"

Yuzuru deliberately squatted down and then tilted his head to the side.

The little girl instantly understood what he meant, and her gaze turned cold and intimidating.

Don't even think about making her sell her dignity with just a monkey talisman!

"Pop"

Instantly separate.

Ai blushed slightly and took two steps back, eagerly snatching the monkey talisman. Then, feigning composure, she pushed up her non-existent glasses and muttered, "This is just a strategic compromise! It's not that I wanted to kiss you!"

Mingmei: "..."

Kimie Shimabukuro: "..."

Yes, yes, you're absolutely right.

Yuzuru touched the spot where he'd been kissed, his smile gradually turning sinister: "So our little Ai is this proactive~"

"Shut up!" The little girl brandished the monkey charm menacingly. "If you say another word, I'll turn you into a hamster!"

"Okay, okay, I surrender~"

Yuzuru raised his hands, his eyes filled with a triumphant smile.

It's so funny to see the little girl's hair standing on end.

Ai sullenly studied the talisman. With a flash of purple light, she instantly transformed into a silver-gray ferret. The fluffy little creature stood adorably on the floor, seemingly not yet used to the feeling of having four legs.

"Pfft—" Yu Shengnan couldn't help but burst out laughing.

The ferret immediately bristled, leaped onto his head, and frantically slapped his hair with its claws.

"I was wrong! I was wrong!" Yuzuru pleaded while trying to protect his hairstyle. "Our Ai is the cutest! Her ferret form is super cute too!"

Akemi finally couldn't help but laugh out loud: "Young Master Yuzuru, you brought this on yourself~"
