"Excuse me, where are you taking us now, Auntie?"
Please, okay?
Ayumi poked her head out from the back seat, blinking her big, watery eyes, her voice so sweet it could drip honey. Mitsuhiko and Genta squeezed on either side of Conan, their three little faces filled with anticipation.
"That's right!"
Yuan Tai patted the seat, "We've been sitting in the car for ages!"
Yukiko glanced at the group of kids in the rearview mirror, a sly smile playing on her lips. She was wearing large sunglasses today, her long, slightly wavy hair fluttering in the wind, giving her the air of a Hollywood star.
"Well~" she deliberately dragged out the word, "we're going to a place where everyone will jump for joy~"
"Ugh, here we go again!"
"Hanyu's sister is such a master of keeping you in suspense!"
Conan was squeezed against the car door, his glasses askew, and he sighed helplessly. He knew his mother too well—one of her greatest pleasures was teasing children, especially when the children were jumping up and down in frustration.
After all, he was a victim when he was a child.
Hmm, thinking about it now, he seems to be...
I said...
Conan was about to speak when Genta pushed him back down with his butt.
"Please, sister!" Ayumi clasped her hands together in a pleading gesture, "Just tell us a little bit, okay?"
Yukiko suddenly slammed on the brakes, and the three little ones lurched forward in unison, only to be pulled back to their seats by the seatbelts. She turned her head, her sunglasses sliding down to the tip of her nose, revealing a pair of eyes that gleamed with mischief.
"It's a secret."
"Ugh~" Ayumi puffed out her cheeks, "Big sister is mean!"
Yukiko's silvery laughter immediately filled the car. She started the car again triumphantly, and the red sports car glided into traffic like a nimble fish.
Sunlight streamed in through the skylight.
dappled light and shadow were cast on her delicate profile.
"Hehe..." Yuzuru couldn't help but smile.
Although Yukiko is always so childlike, her energy is truly unmatched.
Just then, Yukiko's phone rang.
She held the steering wheel with one hand and answered the phone with the other: "Moshi moshi~ Ah, it's Mr. Tang Tian!"
The three little ones immediately perked up their ears.
"You've put a lot of effort into the quality?" Yukiko frowned slightly. "Will the time for Zero be extended?"
Her fingers tapped lightly on the steering wheel. "OK, OK, I'll get going now. Thanks!"
After the call ended, the carriage was quiet for a few seconds.
"Number Zero?"
Mitsuhiko's eyes suddenly lit up. "Is it the robot's serial number?"
"No, no!" Yuan Tai waved his hands excitedly. "It must be the code name for a secret weapon! Like a super invincible giant missile!"
Ayumi tilted her head: "Auntie, what exactly is number zero?"
Just as Yukiko was about to unleash her "secret technique" once again, the little girl who had been silent in the passenger seat suddenly spoke, her voice as clear and cold as mountain spring water:
"You're going to take us to see the first preview of 'Masked Swordsman Mooby 2,' right?"
"Huh?"
Yukiko's happiness came to an abrupt end.
Conan, sitting in the back row, hesitated to speak, even though he wanted to.
Is it true?
That's great!
"I like Masked Swordsman the most."
The three little ones couldn't contain themselves and cheered excitedly.
Yukiko turned to Haibara in surprise, almost driving the car onto the sidewalk: "Ai-chan, how did you know?"
When Ai heard this address, she trembled almost imperceptibly.
What kind of weird name is that?
Reduplicated words, disgusting~
She silently grumbled to herself, suppressing the urge to roll her eyes, and calmly pointed to the car's navigation system: "The phone call mentioned 'quality' and 'number zero,' and the navigation destination shows Dongdu Image Co., Ltd.—that's the production company of 'Masked Swordsman.' As for number zero..."
A slight smile played on her lips. "It should be the numbering system for the preview tapes. Number zero usually refers to the master tape."
The carriage was completely silent.
The three little ones' adoring gazes almost overwhelmed Haibara.
"As expected of Ai-chan!" Ayumi's eyes lit up.
Yuzuru chuckled and reached out to ruffle Ai Haibara's hair: "Our Ai is so smart."
"Don't touch me." Ai slapped his hand away, but couldn't hide the smugness on her lips.
Yukiko snapped out of her shock and burst into laughter: "Hahaha, as expected of Ai! Absolutely right!"
She laughed and winked playfully, like a child reminding them, "But you have to keep it a secret, okay? Even the lead actors haven't seen this preview yet!"
"That's awesome!"
We promise we won't tell!
"The masked swordsman is the coolest!"
The three little ones were so excited in the back row that they were waving their arms and legs.
They completely forgot about Conan, who was squeezed in the middle. Poor Conan's face was deformed from being squeezed by the group.
“However,” Ai suddenly spoke again, her voice tinged with a hint of sarcasm, “it seems there’s been a problem with the color adjustment of the ‘number zero’ that Yukiko-nee mentioned on the phone earlier, and it might be delayed?”
Yukiko's smile froze again: "..."
The arrogant loli's smile widened even more.
Don't they know that the three little ones are under the protection of Lady Haibara?
Wow! Ai even knows this!
Ayumi exclaimed in surprise at just the right moment.
Seeing Yukiko's discomfitured expression, Yuuko Nan couldn't help but chuckle: "Good sister, it seems you've met your match."
Yukiko pouted, pretending to be angry as she glared at Ai, and said in a coquettish tone, "Ai-ai, you're ruining my chance! It makes me lose face! And there's no surprise at all..."
