I said kneel down!
"Ikehashi Shizuka emphasized again in a cold voice."
Upon hearing this, Hattori Heiji, though unaware of what had happened, obediently knelt down.
"Mom, what's wrong?"
Hattori Heiji asked, puzzled, while secretly thinking to himself, "Wait a minute, shouldn't he be the one questioning his father about why he did this?"
Why is it that he's the one kneeling down first?
Ignoring Hattori Heiji's question, Shizuka Ikenami gracefully rose from the futon, took a folding fan, and walked slenderly toward the kneeling Hattori Heiji.
The wooden clogs made a crisp, rhythmic thud as they stepped on the floor, which sounded particularly clear in the quiet living room.
When Hattori Heiji saw his mother approaching, he instinctively tried to stand up.
"Kneel properly!"
Ikenami Shizuka spoke directly and sternly, her voice carrying an unquestionable authority, her gaze fixed on Hattori Heiji, as if trying to nail him to the spot with her eyes.
Hattori Heiji was startled by his mother's sudden sternness. His body trembled slightly, and he quickly knelt down obediently again.
At the same time, my mind raced, trying to figure out why my usually gentle mother was suddenly so serious today.
But after thinking about it for a long time, I still couldn't figure out why.
Ikenami Shizuka stood in front of Hattori Heiji, looking at him quietly with an inscrutable expression on her face. She also gently tightened her folding fan, as if she was suppressing some emotion.
After a long while, when Hattori Heiji was getting impatient from kneeling and his heart was beginning to stir, Ikenami Shizuka finally spoke slowly, "I heard you were quite impressive today?"
Her tone was calm, but her eyes held a hint of something unfathomable.
"What's so impressive about it?"
Hattori Heiji looked bewildered; he didn't know why his mother would suddenly say that.
