Holy crap!
Douzi was startled, his face turning deathly pale. He turned and ran towards the door like a frightened rabbit, shouting as he ran, "Mom, calm down!"
"I'm very calm." Kuroba Chikage, carrying an axe, followed slowly. "Didn't you just say you wanted to fulfill your father's last wish? I'll take you to see him now and let you ask him directly!"
"No, no, no! Mom, I was wrong!" Kaito frantically unlocked the door, still unwilling to give up, and called back, "Think about it again! That was Dad's last wish—"
"Bang!"
The axe grazed his ear and pierced the door frame, sending sawdust flying everywhere.
"His last wish?! Was your father's last wish that your mother would voluntarily deliver him to someone else?"
Kaito: "......"
It seems... a bit too much?
But for the Pandora Gem, he had to try again!
"Mom! It's just a piece of chocolate!" Kaito finally opened the door, hiding behind it and cautiously peeking out half his head, shouting, "With your skills, you could easily take him down with a simple disguise!"
Kuroba Chikage almost laughed in anger.
Disguise?
In the past two months, she has dressed up as a maid, nurse, teacher, office lady... and even a cat-eared girl! And what was the result? Every time, that little devil saw through her disguise immediately, and then came the even more embarrassing "punishment game".
Even now, recalling those scenes makes her blush, her heart race, and the beautiful woman unconsciously brings her legs together, her cheeks flushing a suspicious red.
That bastard used some kind of evil magic; now, just hearing the name "Yusuke Kusunoki" makes her body react uncontrollably to strange things...
"Mom? Why is your face red?"
Kaito keenly sensed something was amiss.
"Mind your own business!" Kuroba Chikage retorted angrily, swinging her axe and chasing after him again. "If I don't kill you today, I'll take your surname!"
"Hey, Mom, didn't you originally have the same last name as me?"
Kaito ran while still managing to be a little mischievous.
Kuroba Chikage sneered, "You've changed your surname to Yusheng."
"Haha, Mom, you're joking..."
Douzi ultimately suffered from his youth, not realizing that some truths are often spoken in jest.
At that moment, he had not yet realized the deeper meaning behind his mother's words.
.........
Meanwhile, at the Nakamori family's house next to the Kuroba residence.
"Dear Mom, what are you looking at?"
Aoko Nakamori, a beautiful young woman who looks remarkably like Ran Mouri except for her hairstyle, leaps lightly like a deer and pounces on her mother from behind, affectionately wrapping her arms around her mother's neck as she looks out the window.
"Huh? Isn't that Kaito?" She blinked her big, bright eyes, watching the figure fleeing in a disheveled state at the street corner. "Strange, didn't he say he wasn't going home lately?"
The girl tilted her head, wondering to herself, "What's wrong with Kaito? Why does he look so flustered?"
Nakamori Aoko looked away and gently stroked her daughter's hair: "She probably made Aunt Chikage angry again."
"Hmph! That idiot must have done something stupid again!" Aoko angrily waved her little fist, her pink cheeks puffed up slightly with anger, making her look like a cute little hamster. "You promised to go to the fireworks festival with me last time, but you stood me up again!"
The mother and daughter returned to the dining table. Tonight, Ginzo Nakamori will have to work overtime at the Metropolitan Police Department again because of the Phantom Thief Kid's advance notice.
"Dad works so hard..."
As Aoko served herself rice, she couldn't help but complain, "It's all because of that despicable Phantom Thief Kid! One day I'll catch him myself and throw him in jail!"
Nakamori Aoko placed a piece of fish into her daughter's bowl and asked thoughtfully, "Aoko, have you met that Yuzuru Hanyu that your father mentioned last time?"
"Huh?" Aoko paused, a blush suddenly rising to her cheeks. "It's...it's just that we bumped into each other once when I went to buy soy sauce last time..."
The image of that handsome young man flashed into her mind—his tall, slender figure, his languid smile, and those eyes that seemed to see right through people; he looked like a male protagonist straight out of a manga...
"Much cooler than Kaito, right?"
Nakamori Aoko asked with a smile.
"Mom!" Qingzi stomped her foot in embarrassment and annoyance, and said coquettishly, "Who, who compares this!"
Nakamori Aoko sighed softly, "Aoko, Mom thinks... you should get to know more other boys."
"Why are you suddenly bringing this up?" Aoko tilted her head in confusion.
As a prosecutor, and one who is about to be promoted to chief prosecutor, Nakamori Aoko had long seen through Kaito Kuroba's true identity as Kaito Kid.
As a wife, she would never accept a son-in-law who could manipulate her husband; as a mother, she would never want her daughter to get hurt by a thief in the future.
“It’s nothing,” she ladled a bowl of soup for her daughter, “I just feel… Kaito is too much of a prankster, he’s not right for you.”
Aoko pouted: "Mom~ Kaito may be clumsy and mischievous, but he's actually..."
"Actually what?" Nakamori Aoko raised an eyebrow, quietly looking at her daughter, waiting for her answer.
"Actually..." Aoko stammered for a while, then suddenly had a bright idea, "Actually, Dad has been praising Yuzuru for his amazing crime-solving skills lately! He even said he'd treat him to dinner!"
A glint of light flashed in Nakamori Aoko's eyes, as if she saw an opportunity to change her daughter's mind: "Really? That's perfect. Next time your father invites him, you can go too."
"Huh?!" Aoko's eyes widened. "I... what am I going to do..."
"Wouldn't it be better to make more outstanding friends?" Nakamori Aoko said meaningfully. "Young girls should meet different types of men, rather than..."
She didn't finish her sentence, but the meaning was clear—not to hang herself on a thief who spends all his time changing clothes and showing off.
Aoko blushed and lowered her head to eat, but the images of two boys involuntarily surfaced in her mind—one was her childhood friend Kaito, and the other was a mysterious boy she had only met once...
"Oh dear, what am I thinking about!"
The girl tapped her head with her chopsticks, looking annoyed.
She felt that she had almost been influenced by her mother's words and turned into a bad girl who was not devoted to her lover.
Nakamori Aoko couldn't help but chuckle as she watched her daughter's adorable actions, her eyes filled with doting affection.
She gently placed the fish fillets she had prepared into her daughter's bowl, thinking that there was no rush and she had enough time to slowly correct her daughter's thinking.
After all, Kaito Kuroba is definitely not a good match for Aoko.
