The streets of Beika Town are exceptionally quiet at night.
The daytime hustle and bustle has long since faded away, leaving only the dim yellow glow of the streetlights on the ground, with the occasional evening breeze bringing a touch of coolness.
Yuzuru and Ai walked side by side on their way back to the villa.
Ai Haibara, carrying a delicate little cake she had just packed from the restaurant—which she claimed was "compensation for emotional distress"—walked ahead with her short legs, her face still tense, radiating a low-pressure aura that said, "I'm not happy, don't mess with me."
Not a blade of grass grows within a three-meter radius.
She wasn't entirely angry because Yuzuru was surrounded by three policewomen, each embracing one of them—though that was part of the reason.
More importantly...
She, Shiho Miyano, Ai Haibara, the mighty Cardcaptor Sakura, a magical girl who wields the power to control the wind.
As a result of today's exciting and attention-grabbing event, she was treated like a fragile item and locked in the car the whole time, with no opportunity to use her talents.
They didn't even make it into the background!
This is outrageous! It's an absolute disgrace!
She was secretly thinking that at the crucial moment, she could make a glamorous transformation, use the "Wind" card to create a gust of wind to blow the bomb away, or use her magic wand to give the bomber a "Starlight Punishment".
They've even come up with the pose!
And what was the result?
The limelight was stolen by a certain self-directed and self-acted "Best Actor"!
He, on the other hand, went through a series of hero-saves-the-damsel-in-distress moments, a deep gaze exchanged, and finally delivered a perfect ending with "self-defense."
And what about her?
Like a real, protected, defenseless child, he could only stare helplessly through the car window, unable to even get a seat in the audience, and could only listen to the live broadcast on the radio.
This made the arrogant little girl, who had a cool scientist personality inside her, extremely, extremely unhappy.
It feels like the dignity of magical girls has been trampled on!
Yu Sheng Nan followed half a step behind her, watching her puffed-up back and her short brown hair swaying with each step, a smile flashing in his eyes.
His eyes darted around, and a "suicidal" thought popped into his head.
Suddenly, he darted forward and snatched the paper bag containing the cake with a cute bear pattern from Ai's arms with lightning speed!
"Haha! This mountain is mine, these trees are mine! If you want to pass, leave your toll! Hey! You little girl up ahead, you're robbing me! Hand over the cake!"
Yuzuru imitated the ridiculously awkward lines from an old TV drama, his face beaming with an exaggeratedly wicked grin, looking like a creepy uncle snatching candy from a child.
Ai was taken aback by his sudden childish act. She looked at her empty hand, then at Yuzuru Nanasu, who was holding her cake with a "I'm a bad guy and I'm proud of it" expression.
A flicker of astonishment, as if thinking, "Is this person an idiot?" flashed in his icy blue eyes, before turning into a deep, speechless look, as if he were looking at a mentally challenged child.
She pouted and uttered two words: "Childish."
However, the next second, her eyes changed.
Behind Hanyu Nan, a pair of enormous wings, made of pure light energy and radiating a soft, holy white light, suddenly unfolded.
The soft yet dazzling light instantly dispelled the surrounding darkness, making him appear like an angel descended to earth... if one ignored the teddy bear cake bag he had snatched.
"Hehe, little girl, the cake is mine now! Come and chase after me if you dare! If you do, I'll give you back... half!"
Yu Shengnan proudly waved his "trophy" in his hand, and with a gentle flap of his angel wings, he floated up into the sky as if weightless, flying towards the villa at a moderate speed.
It's just right to maintain that annoyingly high level of "you seem to be able to reach it with a little effort, but you're just a little short."
Ai stood on the ground, looking up at the "angel who stole the cake." Her lips twitched slightly, and then a very faint, almost invisible smile flashed in her eyes.
But soon, that smile was replaced by a smug expression that seemed to say, "Alright, since you've invited me so sincerely, I'll mercifully play along."
"Hmph, you think you can get away like that?"
She muttered to herself, looked around to make sure no one was nearby.
Good, there were no witnesses.
Then, she took out the beautifully designed Star Key.
Holding the key to her chest, she took a deep breath and, though a little ashamed, recited the incantation in a clear and earnest voice:
"Key that conceals the power of darkness! Show me your true power! Now, in the name of your master, Ai, I command you—release the seal!!!"
With the incantation, the Key of the Stars shone brightly, its form rapidly expanding and changing, finally transforming in her hand into a complete Star Wand adorned with wings at its tip!
At the same time, a soft light enveloped her body. When the light dissipated, her ordinary clothes had transformed into a magical combat outfit that was both cute and cool, with dark blue and white as the main colors. Her skirt fluttered, and her small body seemed to be full of power.
(Tomoyo's aesthetic sense is definitely on point!)
As magical girl Ai felt the strange magical power surging within her, a power completely different from science, an irrepressible excitement and eagerness flashed in her icy blue eyes.
She raised her ornate magic wand and aimed it at the "cake-stealing demon king" who was slowly flying in the air, occasionally turning back to gloat.
"Clow Cards created by Clow Reed! Abandon your old forms and change anew! In the name of your new master, Sakura, I command you—Wind!"
