Koizumi Akako was somewhat surprised to see this.
Is this woman's faith in that guy, Yuzuru, really that unwavering? What makes her go to such lengths?
She knew that the orthodox shrine maiden's training method placed great emphasis on the "heart," so while it was unexpected that Shimabukuro Kimie could withstand her attacks, it wasn't particularly surprising, since pure faith itself could generate power.
But what era are we living in?
How can there still be such a stubborn and pure faith?
It's practically an antique!
Koizumi Akako raised an eyebrow, a hint of seriousness flashing in her blood-red eyes: "Interesting. No wonder Hanyu Nan values you so much, but this childish game ends here!"
The potion bottle in her hand suddenly emitted a bright light, and the liquid inside began to boil. Using the potion as a medium, she quickly chanted a long incantation, and powerful magical fluctuations spread out like a tide, causing the flowers and plants in the courtyard to sway restlessly.
"Red Magic: Shape Distortion!"
A twisted beam of light, mixed with purplish-black energy, descended from the sky, enveloping Shimabukuro Kimie! This was a more advanced form of magic than simple transformation, designed to temporarily alter the target's form from the very essence of life.
Faced with this fierce attack, Kimie Shimabukuro felt immense pressure.
Her cultivation period was short, and although she could draw upon the power of Yu Sheng Nan, her own spiritual power accumulation and spell proficiency were far inferior to those of the orthodox successor of the Red Magic lineage, which had been passed down for thousands of years.
The white light barrier she had erected fluctuated violently under the impact of the distorted beam of light, flickering and appearing somewhat strained, and her slender arms trembled slightly.
"Heh~ Heh heh heh~" Seeing this, Koizumi Akako let out her triumphant, classic three-part witch laugh. "Is that all you've got? You can't even protect yourself, yet you want to serve your so-called 'god'?"
The witch felt confident of victory and began to happily contemplate whether it would be more interesting to turn the witch into a fluffy rabbit, a kitten, or simply a croaking frog.
However, despite being at a disadvantage, Kimie Shimabukuro suddenly smiled faintly, almost imperceptibly.
Playing with transformations?
She's a professional, after all.
After all, she has a mischievous little girl at home who loves science experiments and drags her along to be a volunteer every day.
Just as the distorted beam of light was about to break through the barrier, a faint light flashed on Shimabukuro Kimie's chest, and a talisman engraved with a monkey pattern floated out, hovering above her palm, emitting a chaotic and strange light.
"Hmm?" Koizumi Akako keenly sensed a completely different, incomprehensible, and even instinctively unsettling force of rules emerging.
"In the name of the divine..."
Shimabukuro Kimie said softly, her tone devout and firm: "Change!"
The monkey talisman's light arrived first, not by directly clashing with the distorted pillar of light, but by covering it with a more fundamental, domineering, and tyrannical power of rules! It was as if saying, "In my territory, you have to follow my rules!"
Koizumi Akako's expression changed drastically. A strong sense of crisis made her react instantly. Her magic power exploded wildly, and she suddenly moved to the side more than ten meters away. Her reaction speed was astonishing!
But her beloved magic broom couldn't completely escape—the edge of the spell's glow lightly grazed the end of the broom.
"Croak—?!"
Suddenly, a raven's cry rang out, and the ornate, jewel-encrusted magic broom, in a distorted halo of light, instantly transformed into a raven with flapping wings, a glossy black coat, and a dull, foolish gaze.
"What?! My broom!!"
Koizumi Akako hovered in mid-air using her own magic, only to see her beloved vehicle suddenly transform into a bird. She was so shocked that she almost lost her flight magic, and her heart was bleeding.
There are so many gems on it!
The crow flapped its wings blankly a couple of times, looked down at its black feathers, then looked up at the moon, seemingly unable to comprehend the nature of bird life. Then, cawing, with a bewildered air, it flew away unsteadily towards the moon...
It was as if its raven goddess was calling from there.
"You! What have you done to my beloved broom?!"
Koizumi Akako looked down at the still calm Shimabukuro Kimie with shock, anger, and heartache, her voice rising several octaves, "What the hell is that?! That's not magic!"
She had never seen such a bizarre and completely illogical transformation technique before; even the magical fluctuations were completely different!
Shimabukuro Kimie calmly withdrew the monkey charm, slightly raised her chin, and said with the pride and piety of a divine priestess: "This is a power bestowed by the gods, which is beyond the reach of ordinary magic."
Koizumi Akako: "???"
Holy crap! Using cheats and doing it so brazenly! So proud! So superior! Did this guy have VIP access?
She felt her blood pressure rise.
But for Shimabukuro Kimie, she is one with the gods, the gods' power is her power, and the gods' blessings are her glory. So how can she be said to have cheated?
This is clearly divine grace!
The witch looked at the silly crow that was about to disappear into the moonlight, and then at the priestess below who, although slightly out of breath and with her temples damp, still had a calm and serene gaze. She suddenly felt that borrowing this potion tonight was a huge loss!
What a disaster! The broom's gone! And I've lost face too!
She glared fiercely at Shimabukuro Kimie, then subconsciously and somewhat guiltily glanced towards the quiet Japanese-style room.
The witch is very angry, but the consequences... won't be too serious for now.
The main issue is beating the dog... ugh, the main issue is that even when it comes to the shrine maiden, you have to consider the gods' feelings. That man is so petty!
