He walked step by step toward the sofa, each step feeling as if it were stepping on Qingzi's wildly pounding heart.

He let out a low, ambiguous, chilling laugh, which sounded exceptionally clear in the overly quiet living room. "Little lamb... your shepherd aunt has left for now~ Now, it's just us~"

Aoko hugged her pillow tightly, her voice stern yet weak, and warned, "I-I'm warning you! Don't do anything rash! Or I'll call for help! I really will!"
