Chapter 161 Better to kill the innocent than let the guilty go free!

The two old women were whipping Mu Junyu when they suddenly heard Su Renyi say such a thing, and they were immediately stunned.

Mu Junyu's usually calm eyes now held a different kind of starlight.

Although she didn't know who had come, she knew she had a chance to be rescued!

The more chaotic the place, the greater her chance of escape.

"What's going on? Why is someone here?" An old woman looked at Su Renyi with suspicion.

Another old woman directly questioned, "Why did someone suddenly break in? Could it be that the Marquis deliberately brought people here?"

Seeing that the two old women completely disregarded him, Su Renyi became somewhat angry: "If I had deliberately brought people here, would I have bothered to inform you?"

Is he crazy? Did he specifically bring people to arrest himself?

The old woman scoffed dismissively, "That's not necessarily true. Perhaps you're just putting on an act because you're afraid we'll report to Consort Su."

Su Renyi didn't have time to argue with them: "Stop talking nonsense. We don't know how long the guards outside can hold out. If we don't leave soon, they might come up here immediately."

The two old women were also quite frightened. Although they knew that the secret guards arranged by Consort Su were very powerful, they really didn't dare to delay any longer.

The two hurriedly untied Mu Junyu and dragged her outside.

Mu Junyu had been given a muscle-relaxing drug, making her body very heavy. Not only could she not walk on her own, but even the two old women had a hard time dragging her along.

Seeing that they were moving too slowly, Su Renyi couldn't stand it anymore, so he stepped forward and picked Mu Junyu up in his arms.

Mu Junyu's face suddenly turned cold, and she shouted sharply, "Don't touch me! Put me down!"

She couldn't go with them; she had to stall for time until someone came to rescue her!

Having finally managed to hold her, how could Su Renyi possibly let go, especially during such a critical time?

Since the two old women couldn't move Mu Junyu, they stopped stopping Su Renyi from carrying her.

Seeing that Su Renyi refused to let go of her, Mu Junyu tried to struggle, but she had no strength at all and couldn't even move a finger.

"Help! Someone help me!" Mu Junyu didn't understand what was happening, but seeing Su Renyi about to carry her down the mountain, she shouted.

Upon hearing Mu Junyu's shouts, the two old women hurriedly destroyed important items in the room and then chased after Su Renyi and the guards with the curtains.

After putting the curtain back over Mu Junyu's head and giving her a mute pill, the two old women felt relieved and followed them down the mountain.

Soon, they descended the mountain via another small path.

In case of such an emergency, Su Renyi and his men had prepared horses and carriages at the foot of the mountain road.

Su Renyi and his group encountered Jinzhu as soon as they came down the mountain.

"Lord Marquis!" Jinzhu was also stunned. She hadn't expected that after wandering around the foot of the mountain for so long, intending to take a secluded path back to avoid being seen, she would actually run into Su Renyi.

And the woman he's holding in his arms is the First Madam, isn't she?

"What are you doing here?" Su Renyi hadn't expected to run into Jin Zhu either. He stared at her coldly and asked sharply, "Did you bring those people from the bamboo forest here?"

As soon as Su Renyi said this, the two old women also looked at Jinzhu.

Seeing that her features resembled Mu Junyu's, yet seeing that she was dressed as a maid, Jinzhu's identity was unclear for a moment.

Jinzhu didn't know what Su Renyi meant, but she forced herself to remain calm and said, "Who is it? I didn't bring anyone here. I came here with the Marquis."

Su Renyi's face darkened further, and he frowned unhappily, saying, "You've been following me?"

Jinzhu's heart pounded nervously, but she still tried to remain calm and pouted, saying coquettishly, "It's all because the Marquis has been away from home for several days at a time these past few days. Now that he's back, he's been absent-minded every day. I knew then that the Marquis was seeing someone else."

As Jinzhu spoke, she glanced jealously at Mu Junyu in Su Renyi's arms: "This must be the new sister. Why did you leave her in this desolate place, Lord Marquis? Our Madam is very tolerant. You can bring her to the Marquis's residence and give her a proper status."

Su Renyi hadn't expected Jinzhu to be so perceptive, nor had he expected her to follow him out of jealousy and then happen to stumble upon this situation.

Su Renyi stared at Jinzhu, momentarily at a loss as to what to do with her.

Jinzhu, however, seemed oblivious and jealous, asking, "Is this younger sister frail? Why is the Marquis carrying her the whole time?"

Su Renyi took a deep breath, thinking that there was still a group of pursuers of unknown origin in the bamboo forest behind him. He didn't want to pursue Zhou Jinzhu anymore, so he picked up Mu Junyu and got into the carriage.

Jinzhu didn't care about anything else and got into the carriage.

The two old women also wanted to get into the carriage, but Jinzhu angrily said, "Who are you? Who gave you permission to ride in the same carriage as the Marquis!"

The two old women already harbored resentment towards Jinzhu, and now that they heard her dare to speak to them like that, they immediately retorted angrily, "If a mere servant like you dares to get on this carriage, why shouldn't we!"

Judging from her calling herself a servant girl, she must be a maid in the Yong'an Marquis's mansion. And she was acting so coquettishly with Su Renyi, so she must be his concubine.

I guess she only became a concubine because of that slight resemblance in their eyebrows. A concubine dares to talk to them like that? Who does she think she is?

"My lord, look at them!" Jinzhu said coquettishly, tugging at Su Renyi's sleeve.

Su Renyi had long been dissatisfied with these two arrogant old women, so he felt quite pleased when Jinzhu retorted: "There's no room for so many people in the car, you two should get off and walk."

The two old women were naturally unwilling and said coldly, "Has the Marquis forgotten that our mission is to protect this lady?"

“With me in the car, she won’t get lost,” Su Renyi said coldly.

The old woman glared at Jinzhu with a sinister look: "There's no room for anyone in the carriage. Why don't you kill this servant girl, Lord Marquis? You'll have to kill her sooner or later anyway."

She knew their secret; this maid could not possibly survive.

Jinzhu was so frightened by their words that her heart almost jumped out of her chest, but she reacted quickly by glaring angrily at the two old women: "My lord, what are they saying? I am your servant, my lord. How dare they speak to me like this? They have no respect for you at all! Besides, what have I done wrong? Why should they kill me?"

"Get down!" Su Renyi felt that these two old women were showing him no respect in front of Jinzhu, so his voice became even colder.

Seeing that Su Renyi was protecting Jinzhu, the two old women were even more eager to tear Jinzhu apart: "My lord, don't forget the Empress's orders, this servant cannot be kept!"

Who knows what this maid has discovered, or what she will figure out? She must not be allowed to live!

Better to kill the innocent than let the guilty go free!
