Chapter 397 Who Accused First?

Xuanyuan Peng sat in the main seat. When he saw that Bai Shi had also come, he subconsciously stood up and said, "Why did you come here too?"

Bai led Xuan Yuanzhan and Su Xuening to bow to Xuan Yuanpeng, but Xuan Yuanpeng helped them up, saying, "I've told you so many times, you don't need to bow to me."

Seeing how gentle and considerate Xuan Yuanpeng was to Bai Shi, Su Huiyan was so angry that her liver hurt. She coughed unhappily and said, "The Holy Princess Consort has come at just the right time. I have something I want to ask her."

Su Huiyan emphasized the words "Holy King's Dowager Consort" with particular force, the reminder being all too clear.

Xuanyuan Peng understood her meaning perfectly well, but he didn't want to pay attention to her. He just looked at Bai Shi and Xuanyuan Zhan and said, "Let's sit down first."

Bai Shi, Xuan Yuanzhan, and Su Xuening sat down on the left, facing Su Huiyan, Xuan Yuanyu, and Su Feiling.

Xuanyuan Yu looked at Su Xuening's bulging belly and felt a sharp pain in his heart. His face turned terribly gloomy.

Su Feiling looked at Su Xuening with such hatred that she wished she could slowly torture her to death with her eyes!

Even without raising her eyes, Su Xuening could feel the two cold gazes opposite her.

However, she couldn't be bothered with them; she didn't even bother to look up at them.

She'll send those two to the deepest hell one day!

Xuanyuan Peng sat back in his main seat.

As soon as she sat down, Su Huiyan was about to speak again, but Bai Shi interrupted her first: "Your Majesty, I brought my two children here today not to be lectured. I want to accuse Zhong Shi of the second branch of the Su family of spreading rumors, slandering my Ning'er and the reputation of our Holy Prince's Mansion, and even disgracing the dignity of the Xuanyuan Royal Family."

Upon hearing this, Xuanyuan Peng frowned.

Su Feiling and Su Muyao never expected that even though their mother was dead, the Holy Princess would still come here to complain.

Even Su Huiyan was angered by Bai's accusations, and said angrily, "Bai Fuya, how can you be so shameless? This person is already dead, and you still want to play the victim and accuse him first!"

Bai turned her sharp gaze to Su Huiyan and coldly rebuked, "How ridiculous! Does death erase her crimes? Besides, you were clearly in the wrong first, yet you're the ones who are accusing others first!"

Everyone in the world has the right to say that she is the one who falsely accused others, but Su Huiyan is the only one who doesn't have that right.

Because what she's best at is accusing the guilty party first!

In verbal sparring, Su Huiyan had never been able to win against Bai Shi, so she didn't want to argue with Bai Shi anymore. Instead, she looked directly at Xuan Yuanpeng and said, "Your Majesty, we were the ones who came to complain first. Shouldn't you deal with our matter first?"

Before Xuanyuan Peng could speak, Bai Shi retorted, "There's no such thing as first come, first served when it comes to filing complaints. You all just want to know about Zhong Shi's beheading, right? Then you should ask her what she did to deserve such an end, shouldn't you?"

Su Huiyan gritted her teeth in anger: "Zhong is my second sister-in-law and Su Xuening's second aunt. No matter what she does, it's not up to Xuan Yuanzhan, a junior, to deal with her!"

Xuanyuan Zhan dared to kill Zhong Shi in the street, showing no regard for her and Yu'er whatsoever. He was utterly arrogant!

Seeing that Su Huiyan really thought she was something special, Madam Bai coldly retorted, "What a joke! Just because she's your second sister-in-law, does that mean she can commit murder and arson? Even if she plotted to usurp the throne, the Emperor couldn't punish her!"

Her second sister-in-law is amazing!

Even the emperor is subject to the same laws as commoners, so she's nothing!

"You..." Su Huiyan was instantly enraged by Bai's contemptuous expression.

This woman is being unreasonable. When did the Zhong family commit murder, arson, and usurp the throne?

Also, she was saying that Xuanyuan Zhan had no right to deal with Zhong Shi, so why did she bring up the Emperor?

"Your Majesty..." Su Huiyan didn't want to argue with Bai Shi, so she looked to Xuan Yuanpeng for help.

At times like these, Xuanyuan Peng always chooses to keep quiet. He never interferes in their verbal battles because he knows Ya'er won't lose.

"Alright." Xuan Yuanpeng gave Su Huiyan a warning look, then looked at Su Xuening: "What exactly happened? Zhan'er's wife, you tell us."

Upon hearing this, Su Xuening was about to stand up, but Xuan Yuanpeng waved his hand kindly: "You're heavy, just sit down and talk."

"Thank you, Your Majesty." Su Xuening nodded to Xuan Yuanpeng before speaking, "Today, Your Highness took my wife and younger brother shopping, and we happened to run into my second aunt, Zhong, who was spreading rumors about my wife and Your Highness on the street."

Xuanyuan Peng frowned as he listened: "What did she spread?"

Su Xuening seemed aggrieved at first, her eyes reddening as she said, "She said that I was no longer a virgin before I married the prince, and that my belly was big, probably more than six and a half months, maybe seven or eight months. She also said that the child in my belly was not the prince's, and that I had a lover and the child belonged to that lover. The prince got angry and killed Zhong, who was spreading rumors."

These words would make even Xuan Yuanzhan uncomfortable, let alone Xuan Yuanpeng.

No wonder Xuanyuan Zhan wanted to kill someone; which man wouldn't be angry if he heard that?

If anyone dares to say such things about Ya'er, he'll have to execute their entire family!

Although many people gossiped about Ya'er outside, he didn't hear it to her face, otherwise he would not have let those people off easily.

It was Zhong who was so clueless, always running around gossiping and spreading rumors. She was overheard by Xuan Yuanzhan and Su Xuening, no wonder they killed her!

Xuanyuan Yu now understood why Zhong Shi had died.

She deserved it; who told her to speak ill of Su Xuening!

If he were Su Xuening's husband, this Zhong woman would also have to die!

Su Huiyan glanced at Su Xuening's big belly across from her, and sneered, "Zhong's words are not entirely unfounded. Ning'er's belly is indeed quite big, and she doesn't look like she's six and a half months pregnant."

Before Su Xuening could reply, Madam Bai scoffed, "If I remember correctly, the two Su sisters got pregnant around the same time as our Ning'er, and their bellies don't look any smaller than Ning'er's! What, could it be that the children in the Su sisters' bellies aren't His Highness's?"

It really was a mother and son; they spoke in a surprisingly consistent manner. They were both daughters of the Su family, and they couldn't even remember the names of such unimportant people!

Su Feiling's expression changed, and she nervously clenched the handkerchief in her hand.

"How dare you!" Su Huiyan shouted angrily.

Bai was not afraid of indulging her bad temper and sneered, "Still being presumptuous? You're allowed to talk about others, but others can't talk about you!"

What? They're allowed to smear Ning'er, but she's not allowed to say a word back?

Who made this law?

Unable to argue with Bai Shi, Su Huiyan could only turn to Xuan Yuanpeng with a wronged expression: "Your Majesty, Ling'er entered the palace with a clean conscience. How could the child she's carrying not be Yu'er's?"

That damned Bai Fuya, she's throwing mud at Ling'er! She's utterly despicable!
