Chapter 81 Kill this beast!

The people who had been gathered at the entrance of the General's Mansion to watch the excitement immediately dispersed to both sides upon hearing the soldiers' shouts, making way for the soldiers and the prison carts.

Su Xuening and her group stood at the entrance of the General's Mansion, all looking towards the prison cart.

At a glance, Madam Zhong recognized Su Linyuan in the prison cart and rushed over like a whirlwind: "Yuan'er!"

Su Linyuan was covered in filth, with rotten vegetable leaves and rotten eggs all over his body. He had two bloody holes in his head and the word "lewd" tattooed on his face.

Originally, Su Linyuan had huddled in the corner of the prison cart to avoid the people throwing things at him, but as soon as he saw Zhong Shi, he was like a savior to him. He grabbed the prison cart and began to cry, tears streaming down his face, "Mother, they threw stones at me, rotten eggs and vegetable leaves at me. Mother, save me!"

"Yuan'er, my poor Yuan'er!" Zhong Shi never expected that someone would throw things at Su Linyuan. Seeing Su Linyuan's disheveled appearance, the injury on his forehead, and the words on his face, Zhong Shi immediately broke down in tears.

Mo Qi, limping beside the prison cart, was also covered in filth. Since he was going to accompany Su Linyuan to exile, Mo Qi had put on a good show. Knowing that the shortest route out of the city was through the General's Mansion, Mo Qi went to wait outside the prison early in the morning. As soon as Su Linyuan came out, he immediately followed beside the prison cart, just to be seen as loyal by the Marquis and his wife.

Su Xuening hadn't expected Mo Qi to be by the prison cart so early; it was truly thoughtful of him.

Mo Qi is so clever; I believe he should be able to complete her task well.

The leading soldier also knew Su Linyuan's identity. Seeing the debris from the firecrackers and fireworks scattered all over the entrance to the General's Mansion, he asked with curiosity, "Why is this young master still setting off firecrackers and fireworks even though he's been exiled?"

The gatekeeper, speaking bluntly, pointed to the plaque of the General's Mansion and replied, "He is the young master of the Marquis of Yong'an's Mansion, not our General's Mansion. Sir, please see clearly that this is the General's Mansion. Today, the Holy King's Mansion and the Emperor have come to deliver betrothal gifts to our young lady, so naturally we should set off celebratory firecrackers."

The servant's words successfully made Su Renyi's face darken.

However, what the other person said wasn't wrong, so he had no reason to react.

The soldier suddenly realized and bowed to Su Xuening: "So it's Miss Su's happy occasion! No wonder we were stuck there for so long. We had to behead everyone at the Meridian Gate before the road was finally cleared. Congratulations!"

Su Xuening smiled slightly: "You're too kind."

Upon hearing that the beheadings at the Meridian Gate had been completed, Zi Shu subconsciously glanced at Su Xue Ning, only to meet her deep gaze. Zi Shu immediately lowered her eyes in a panic, not daring to look up again.

Baiqin died just like that, and the Yong'an Marquis's mansion didn't even send anyone to collect her body. It's truly tragic.

Hearing the conversation between the soldiers and servants, and seeing how badly Zhong was crying, the surrounding people finally recognized Su Linyuan in the prison cart.

"So this is the eldest son of the Su family who made a lewd advance on Miss Su!"

"That's him. He was branded with words and exiled. You can still see the words on his face!"

"He wouldn't even spare his own cousin; he's worse than an animal!"

"Kill this beast!"

Someone started throwing stones at Su Linyuan. Everyone here was there to join in the fun and watch the happy occasion, so no one brought rotten vegetables or eggs. They couldn't bear to throw good vegetables or eggs either, so they could only pick up stones to throw at him.

"Smash him to death!"

"Smash this beast to death!"

More and more people picked up stones and threw them at Su Linyuan, who was forced to cower in a corner of the prison van.

"Yuan'er! Stop hitting him! Don't hit him!" Zhong was heartbroken. She stood around the prison cart, trying to shield Su Linyuan from the stones, but she herself took quite a few stones, and Su Linyuan also took quite a few.

Mo Qi was quick-witted. When those people were throwing stones, he limped a few steps behind and stayed close to the soldiers. The people dared not throw stones at the soldiers.

"Father...Father...Save me!" When the prison cart arrived at the gate of the General's Mansion, Su Linyuan saw Su Renyi and grabbed the cart, pleading with Su Renyi for help.

Su Renyi, feeling sorry for his son, stayed by the prison cart to shield him from the stones, and soon he too was hit by quite a few stones.

Seeing that there were too many people around and fearing that the situation would get out of control, the officers and soldiers immediately turned into the alley ahead and left.

Su Linyuan is going to be exiled; it wouldn't be good if he were killed before even leaving the capital.

Su Renyi and Madam Zhong both went to see Su Linyuan off. Su Feiling couldn't just leave empty-handed, so she had the coachman prepare a carriage and went to see him off as well.

As soon as the second branch of the family left, Su Xuening led Su Yun'an back to the mansion.

Once they arrived at Jingxue Pavilion, Su Xuening let go of his hand: "Go and pack your things. Your sister will take you to find a master. Bring plenty of clothes, as you'll be living there from now on."

Upon hearing that he would be staying there, Su Yun'an was somewhat displeased: "Then I won't be able to see my sister at all."

Su Xuening smiled and rubbed his head: "Sister is getting married in two days. Even if you are at home, sister can't come back to see you all the time. When you are with Master, sister will come to see you when she misses you."

Su Yun'an felt a little sad at the thought of her sister getting married, and replied sullenly, "I'll go pack."

Su Yun'an went back to her room to tidy up.

Su Xuening frowned as she watched Su Yun'an's lonely figure disappear into the distance.

"Miss, have all the betrothal gifts been put into the storeroom?" Bihe asked as she came over.

Su Xuening snapped out of her daze, glanced at Bihe and Lülian, and said, "You two don't need to do anything today, and you don't need to come out with us. Just take the gift list, sort out these betrothal gifts, and put them into the storeroom one by one."

"Yes," the two immediately bowed in response.

While Su Yun'an was packing his luggage, Su Xuening went to Jin Zhu's room.

"Miss."

Upon seeing Su Xuening, Jinzhu was startled and immediately glanced behind her.

Su Xuening knew what she was worried about and said softly, "Don't worry, everyone from the second branch of the family has gone to see Su Linyuan off. There's no one from the second branch in the mansion."

Jinzhu was relieved after Su Xuening said that.

"How are you feeling? Are you feeling better?"

Su Xuening sat down on the edge of the bed and asked with concern.

"I feel much better." Jinzhu looked at Su Xuening with some emotion: "Thanks to Miss's medicine, I feel much better after taking it."

Su Xuening nodded silently, and then said, "The second branch of the family will be leaving the General's Mansion tomorrow, and Su Renyi should take you with him."

Jin Zhu frowned, then suddenly grabbed Su Xuening's hand and said, "Miss, I want to follow you. I don't want to be Su Renyi's concubine anymore."

She used to be willing to serve Su Renyi in order to climb the social ladder, but now she feels disgusted whenever Su Renyi gets close to her, and she simply cannot accept him.

Su Xuening did not agree: "You cannot leave Su Renyi yet."

Jinzhu looked at Su Xuening in shock, not understanding why she said that.

Su Xuening explained solemnly, "Because I need you to stay by Su Renyi's side and help me with something."
