Chapter 10 His Shadow

Chapter 10 His Shadow

Song Ci realized belatedly that what Chi Jinjin had just said was true, and he suddenly felt embarrassed.

But Ji Yang was still laughing wildly, with tears in his eyes.

"Song Ci, I've known you for so long, and this is the first time I find you so funny!" Ji Yang managed to hold back his laughter, but he couldn't help laughing again as soon as he said it.

Song Ci rolled his eyes at him and said, "Laugh at your mother."

"If you want to be my mother, it depends on whether my father likes you." Ji Yang said in a mean way.

Song Ci immediately picked up a book and threw it at him.

Ji Yang turned his head and dodged skillfully.

Nan Xuqiu stood up, patted Song Ci on the shoulder, and said earnestly, "Read more."

When Ji Yang heard this, he couldn't help but laugh again.

But he didn't expect that the next moment, Nan Xuqiu said to him, "You too."

Ji Yang's smile suddenly froze.

"Did you hear that? You too, let's stop comparing." Song Ci quickly retorted to Ji Yang, "What are you laughing at? If Lao Nan hadn't told you, you wouldn't have known about it. And you still have the nerve to laugh at me, damn it."

Ji Yang had no choice but to put away his smile and spread his hands.

Chi Jinjin returned to her seat. Tang Shi saw that her eyes were red, as if she had just cried.

"Jinjin, what's wrong with your eyes? Did you cry? Did someone bully you?" Tang Shi asked with concern, rolling up his sleeves as if he was about to beat someone up.

Chi Jinjin quickly shook her head and said, "No, no, it's just... some dust got into my eyes and I had to rub it for a long time before it came out."

"Really? If someone bullies you, just tell me." Tang Shi was a little unconvinced.

Chi Jinjin laughed and said to her, "Really~"

"That's good." Tang Shi felt relieved when he saw her smiling.

Chi Jinjin breathed a sigh of relief, glad that Tang Shi didn't see through it.

But thinking about what had just happened, Chi Jinjin looked down at her hand, then she realized that she seemed to have pushed Song Ci.

I actually pushed him?!

Chi Jinjin held her forehead. Not only did she push him, but she also said such words to him. What if he retaliated against her?

The more Chi Jinjin thought about it, the more regretful she felt. She secretly cursed herself for not keeping her composure and why she had to seek momentary pleasure. If he retaliated against her, how would she be able to withstand it?

Chi Jinjin felt like crying but had no tears. It was really like one crisis after another, and she couldn't live like this.

If only I had held back just now. Chi Jinjin, why did your IQ drop so low at the critical moment?

Chi Jinjin was lying in bed, still thinking about this matter, feeling uneasy.

But when she turned her head and saw the pack of tissues beside her pillow, she felt a little better.

She reached out and held it in front of her eyes, thinking about how he looked today and what he said to her. Every word was so clear, and every word was worth recalling thousands of times.

Chi Jinjin put the tissue in front of her nose. There was a faint floral scent on the tissue, which soothed her uneasy heart.

Forget it, let’s talk about tomorrow’s matter tomorrow.

Chi Jinjin turned over and pulled the quilt up, smelling the scent of tissues and gradually fell asleep.

The sky gradually turned white, the fresh air purified the soul, the clouds in the sky changed colors, bursts of bells opened the curtain of a new chapter on campus, and slogans rose and fell on the playground.

After running, Chi Jinjin slumped down on a chair beside the track, tilting her head back and drinking water in big gulps.

"No way, you can run like this and be so tired?" Tang Shi, who had just finished training, came over and said with a smile, "You guys usually run faster than I walk. You should run more. You look so weak."

Chi Jinjin kept shaking her hands and said breathlessly, "No, I hate running the most."

Chi Jinjin is extremely resistant to any activity involving running. She doesn't like running. Every time she runs, she feels like her heart is about to jump out of her chest, her head is about to explode, and sometimes her stomach hurts like a cramp.

After breakfast, Chi Jinjin tidied up her somewhat messy desk.

A boy suddenly said at the door, "Class monitor, the homeroom teacher wants you and the cultural and sports committee member to go to the library."

"Okay." Chi Jinjin replied.

Shen Moli stood up and said to Chi Jinjin, “Let’s go.”

Chi Jinjin put down what she was doing and went to the library with Shen Moli. When they arrived at the library, they found out that they were asked to move books.

Shen Moli and Chi Jinjin each carried a pile and walked towards the teaching building.

Suddenly, Shen Moli said, “Class monitor, I want to go to the bathroom, please help me get it back to the classroom.”

Without waiting for Chi Jinjin to reply, she put the book on the book in Chi Jinjin's arms and left.

"Oh? Jasmine..." Chi Jinjin sighed and had to move forward by herself carrying the pile of books.

But before we got far, several books on top fell down.

Chi Jinjin squatted down, stretched out a hand, and wanted to pick it up, but she just couldn't reach it.

Fortunately, a hand suddenly appeared and picked up the book on the ground.

Chi Jinjin looked up and saw that it was Nan Xuqiu!

For a moment, she was stunned.

"How can you move so many books by yourself?" Nan Xuqiu asked.

Chi Jinjin came back to her senses and said, "I'm not the only one here. There was originally a classmate here, but she had to go out for something."

Nan Xuqiu put the books back on the top and took away most of them from the middle.

"Senior?" Chi Jinjin looked at him in surprise.

Nan Xuqiu said, "Let me help you move some."

"Ah?" Chi Jinjin quickly stood up and said, "No, no, I can carry it back to the classroom by myself. I won't bother you, senior!"

"It's okay." Nan Xuqiu smiled at her and said, "I have to go back to the classroom anyway."

His bright smile made Chi Jinjin timidly avoid his gaze. She was afraid that she could not hide the turbulent emotions in her heart.

Chi Jinjin nodded and walked quietly beside him.

She didn't dare turn her head to look at him, and could only secretly look at his shadow on the ground.

Just now she just wanted to fly to the classroom immediately, but now she hopes that this road can be longer and longer.

Allow yourself to stay by his side a little longer.

But the road suddenly became very short and I reached the third floor in no time.

Chi Jinjin had no choice but to say, "Senior, I'm here, please give me the book."

Nan Xuqiu put the book back in her arms.

"Thank you, senior." Chi Jinjin said gratefully.

"You're welcome. See you next time, Junior Sister Chi." Nan Xuqiu turned and walked upstairs.

Chi Jinjin was overjoyed. He had just called her Chi Xuemei? Did he know her name?

Chi Jinjin walked into her classroom happily. She no longer felt the weight of the heavy books in her hands, and she felt like she was floating in the air.

She put the book on the podium and distributed it to the students one by one.

"Jinjin, why are you alone? Where is Shen Moli?" Tang Shi walked up and asked.

Chi Jinjin said as she handed out books, "She said she wanted to go to the bathroom."

"Get out of my mind, I was just in the store and saw her buying ice cream. She was obviously being lazy and letting you carry it by yourself." Tang Shi said indignantly.

"It's okay." Chi Jinjin said indifferently while humming a tune.

Tang Shi moved closer and stared at Chi Jinjin with his head tilted.

"Tang Shi, what are you doing?" Chi Jinjin leaned back and asked in confusion.

Tang Shi said puzzledly, "You look so strange now. Why are you so happy? Your smile is as bright as a flower."

"Yes, is there?" Chi Jinjin covered her face, but she could hide the joy on her face, nor could she suppress the happiness in her heart.

The teacher was giving a lecture on the stage, but Tang Shi in the audience could no longer contain herself. She looked at the watch on her wrist and silently counted down the time in her heart.

"Jinjin, get ready. Let's rush out as soon as the get out of class is over. I must be the first one to eat today." Tang Shi said excitedly.

As soon as he finished speaking, the bell for the end of get out of class rang. Tang Shi rushed to the door, but was stopped by the teacher.

"Tang Shi, what are you doing?" asked the teacher.

Tang Shi turned around and replied, "Teacher, get out of class is over."

"What's wrong with the get out of class? I haven't finished yet, go back." The teacher scolded, "You are really not good at anything, but you are the best at eating."

Tang Shi had no choice but to return to his seat reluctantly.

The teacher said, "I'll just delay you for two minutes, but you won't starve to death in two minutes."

Tang Shi grumbled in dissatisfaction, "We won't starve to death, but we can only pick up leftovers..."

Chi Jinjin smiled.

"We agreed on two minutes, but he ended up talking for ten." After class, Tang Shi raged with Chi Jinjin, "Sure enough, you can't trust what the teacher says about staying in class!"

"Okay, she is a teacher, there is nothing we can do." Chi Jinjin took her hand and went to the cafeteria.

But there were still a lot of people in the cafeteria, with three layers of people in front of the food window.

Tang Shi pulled Chi Jinjin to stand on the periphery and took a lot of effort to get the food, but just as he squeezed out of the crowd, Tang Shi was stepped on by someone, leaving a big footprint.

"Who is it? Don't you have eyes?" Tang Shi cursed immediately, and pulled the person who stepped on him over. When he looked closely, he found that it was Sun Luyao.

Chi Jinjin knows Sun Luyao, who is Tang Shi’s half-sister and is currently studying in Class 132 of Grade 12.

"Oh, it's you." Sun Luyao shook off Tang Shi's hand and said, "I thought it was some shrew yelling."

"You stepped on my shoes." Tang Shi said angrily.

Sun Luyao glanced at them and said nonchalantly, "Oh, then I'll compensate you with a pair. My mom just bought me a pair of New Balance shoes, but I don't really like them, so I'll give them to you as compensation."

Tang Shi didn't say anything, but walked up to her and bumped her with the plate, and the soup in the plate immediately splashed onto her chest.

Sun Luyao screamed and cursed, "Tang Shi, are you sick?"

Tang Shi sneered and said, "You stepped on my shoes and I soiled your clothes. We're even now. You don't need to compensate me with those stinky shoes that are full of pungent smell. I'm afraid of athlete's foot."

"Jinjin, let's go." Tang Shi turned and left.

Chi Jinjin followed.

Sun Luyao looked at her soiled clothes and gritted her teeth, "Tang Shi, just wait!"

Chi Jinjin and Tang Shi found a place to sit down. Tang Shi, who was usually talkative during the meal, became quiet.

Chi Jinjin noticed her loss.

Since Tang Shi's mother got married, her relationship with Tang Shi has only been one of obligation, and all her love has been poured into Sun Luyao.

Although Tang Shi often says that she doesn't care, Chi Jinjin knows that how could she not care? Who in the world doesn't want to be loved?

Chi Jinjin rummaged through her food, picked out a piece of meat, and said in surprise, "Wow, Tang Shi, look, there's such a big piece of meat in my bowl today."

"That's true. It seems that the cafeteria aunt didn't do her job well today. She left you such a big piece of lean meat." Tang Shi was a little envious. He lowered his head and rummaged through his bowl, only to find some bones and shredded meat.

But Chi Jinjin put the big piece of meat into her bowl.

"What?" Tang Shi was puzzled.

Chi Jinjin said, "Here, eat it."

Tang Shi smiled helplessly and said, "Eat it yourself. You look as thin as a bamboo pole."

As she said that, she picked it up and gave it back to Chi Jinjin.

"The bamboo pole is much thinner." Chi Jinjin put the meat back into her bowl and said, "You are a sports student and need much more energy than me, so you eat it."

Chi Jinjin smiled at her foolishly.

Tang Shi felt warmed by her smile, and his depressed mood was greatly relieved.

"Okay then, I won't be polite." Tang Shi said as he stuffed the food into his mouth.

"Oh!" Chi Jinjin suddenly said, "Why did you eat it all?"

"Didn't you ask me to eat it?" Tang Shi said while chewing.

Chi Jinjin said, "I thought you would give me half."

"There's no point in dividing the meat that's already in my mouth. Is there any more?" Tang Shi stretched out his chopsticks and started rummaging in Chi Jinjin's bowl.

Chi Jinjin quickly covered her bowl and said, "You are so greedy."

Tang Shi chuckled, and his depressed mood disappeared.

At this time, there was some commotion behind them. Tang Shi turned his head and looked at Chi Jinjin. It turned out that Song Ci Ji Yang and Nan Xuqiu had come.

Under the gaze of many people, they slowly walked up to the second floor of the cafeteria.

Suddenly, Ji Yang stopped on the stairs and looked in the direction of Chi Jinjin and the others. He seemed to have discovered something new and said to Song Ci, "Isn't that Xiao Chi, your junior?"

Song Ci glanced at him, then evasively pushed Ji Yang and said, "Let's go, Chi your mother."

"What's wrong? Are you shy?" Ji Yang teased deliberately.

Song Ci said with a dark face, "If you keep pushing me around, I'll throw you down now."

"Okay, I won't say anymore." Ji Yang glanced at Nan Xuqiu, smiled and continued walking up.

Nan Xuqiu shook his head helplessly.

"It's great to be rich." Tang Shi envied, "The cafeteria has its own exclusive dining room, unlike us who have to fight for food in the crowd."

"Stop talking and eat." Chi Jinjin lowered her head and shoveled rice into her mouth, fearing that Song Ci would discover her and then remember that she had pushed him and condemned him.

Although Nan Xuqiu and his friends' restaurant was in the school cafeteria, the chef was a five-star chef. After the three of them finished their meal, they went to the lounge next door for a nap.

The lounge is even better equipped than the principal's office, with sofas, game consoles, and massage chairs.

"Lao Nan, look at Lao Song." Ji Yang pointed at Song Ci who was curled up in the corner of the sofa.

Nan Xuqiu looked at it, puzzled, "What's wrong?"

Ji Yang smiled maliciously and said, "I've been observing him for several days. He's been grinning at his phone lately, looking like a young girl in love."

"A young girl is used to describe a girl in love." Nan Xuqiu said.

Ji Yang smiled helplessly and said, "That's not the point. The point is that I think Old Song has fallen in love."

"Really?" Nan Xuqiu smiled.

Ji Yang stood up and walked to Song Ci's side, and suddenly snatched his cell phone.
