Chapter 15 Cake
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were in there, senior. I didn't mean to do that. Please let me go."
The girl who locked up Chi Jinjin knelt on the ground and apologized to Nan Xuqiu pitifully.
Nan Xuqiu, however, changed his usual good temper and said calmly, "Go talk to your homeroom teacher yourself, or should I do it for you?"
The girl hurriedly shook her head and said with a sob, "I, I, I will go by myself..."
As she said this, she stood up crying and turned to leave.
"Stop." Nan Xuqiu suddenly came to a halt.
The girl turned around and looked at him happily.
Nan Xuqiu said, "You haven't apologized to her yet."
The smile on the girl's face suddenly disappeared, and she reluctantly walked up to Chi Jinjin and apologized to her.
Chi Jinjin didn't want to make things difficult for her, so she quickly accepted it.
"It's getting late, you should go back to the classroom early." Nan Xuqiu turned around and said to Chi Jinjin.
Chi Jinjin nodded and pulled Tang Shi away.
During evening self-study, Tang Shi tilted his head and stared at Chi Jinjin.
Feeling her unwavering gaze, Chi Jinjin stopped writing, looked at her, and asked curiously, "Tang Shi... do you have something to say to me?"
Tang Shi leaned closer to her and asked quietly, "Jinjin, what did you and Senior Nan do in there for so long?"
"Reading." Chi Jinjin replied, thinking about what happened during the day, she couldn't help but feel happy and said, "We read Tagore's book together today."
"Just reading?" Tang Shi said in disbelief. "You two, a single man and a single woman, have been together for so long, and besides reading, you haven't done anything else, or talked about anything else?"
"What else can we do?" Chi Jinjin didn't understand what Tang Shi meant.
"Is it possible..." Tang Shi looked at her confused eyes, and the words on the tip of her tongue got stuck in her throat. In the end, she had to give up and said with some disappointment, "The world of you academic masters is really hard to understand."
"Tang poetry and Tagore's books are really wonderful. I only found out today that his books are so good." Chi Jinjin said happily.
Tang Shi wondered, "Tagore? Who is Tagore?"
Chi Jinjin said, "According to what my junior high school Chinese teacher taught me, Tagore is a great poet, and his poems..."
"Um... Jinjin." Chi Jinjin quickly put the pen back into her hand and said, "You should just do your question."
She didn't want to listen to Chi Jinjin's long speech about these things, it made her feel sleepy.
Chi Jinjin saw that Tang poetry was not of interest, so she stopped talking and continued writing the topic.
But when she thought about what happened during the day, Chi Jinjin smiled slightly.
After class, Tang Shi took a shower and lay on the bed. He wanted to find a piece of paper to play games, but he was never online.
Tang Shi was bored, so he went to play a few games by himself. When he looked back at him, he was still not online.
Tang Shi felt a little panicked. There were many people who disappeared permanently on the Internet at any time. She had met several of them. She had never taken them seriously in the past, thinking that the old ones would not go away and the new ones would not come.
But for some reason, Tang Shi felt panicked and uncomfortable when he thought about if he suddenly disappeared.
She kept waiting until she was about to fall asleep, when Yizhishishu finally came online. She immediately revived as if she had been injected with chicken blood, and quickly asked him, "Why are you online so late today?"
A piece of poetry replied: "Today is my birthday. My family had a party or something, so I came a little late."
Tang Shi: {Is it your birthday today? Then happy birthday to you!}
A piece of poetry: {I have never been happy on my birthday.}
Tang Poetry: {Why?}
A piece of poetry: {Do your parents always accompany you on your birthdays? Is there cake?}
Tang Shi: {At home, it's like this, isn't it the same for you?}
A piece of poetry: {My parents left me with a nanny and went to the United States when I was four years old. Until now, the number of days I have been home has never exceeded one month, and no one has ever sent me a cake. They always think that I don’t need such things...}
After Song Ci sent the message, he looked at the table full of expensive watches, accessories, car keys, etc.
At this time, the phone rang. Song Ci looked over and saw Xiaomao said, "Send me your address."
Song Ci sent her the address.
Tang Shi took a look and was surprised, thinking that he was also from City A?
After a while, the nanny suddenly came over with a box of things and said, "Master, there's a delivery man outside who said this is for you from your friend."
"Takeout? I actually have a friend who orders takeout?" Song Ci wondered.
The nanny said, "I find it strange too. How could you possibly need takeout, young master? But the delivery man said it was indeed for you."
Song Ci took the box from her hand, put it on the table and slowly opened it. When he looked, he found that it was a birthday cake.
It says on it - a piece of poetry, happy birthday!
Song Ci immediately understood who sent it.
I quickly sent a message asking: {Kitty, did you send me a cake?}
Kitten: {Yeah, didn’t you say you’ve never received a cake? So today I’ll give you one. Happy birthday.}
So many people gave him gifts today, but none of them made Song Ci feel as surprised and moved as this ordinary-looking cake in front of him.
"Master, I don't know where this cake came from, and I don't know if it's clean. How about I throw it away for you?" said the nanny.
"No need." Song Ci refused immediately.
So the nanny saw that the person who grew up eating meals prepared by five-star chefs actually took a big bite of this extremely cheap-looking cake.
And my eyes were red...
On the weekend, Tang Shi ran to Chi Jinjin's dormitory and said, "Jinjin, let's go out and play?"
"Tang Shi, forget it. The high school entrance exam is coming soon and I want to review." Chi Jinjin declined politely.
"Okay, then you study hard. I'm going to go out and have fun. Bye." Seeing that she didn't want to go, Tang Shi didn't force her.
Chi Jinjin nodded and said, "Have fun."
Tang Shi ran out happily.
Shortly after she left, Chi Jinjin took her notebook, books and test papers and went to the library to review.
The afternoon sunlight shines through the branches outside the window and falls obliquely on Chi Jinjin's books. The breeze blows the blue curtains, and the test paper always sticks to her arm.
Time passed by the tip of the pen minute by minute, and before I knew it, the sun had set and red clouds were floating in the sky.
Chi Jinjin stretched and looked around, only to find that she was the only one left in the library.
Chi Jinjin folded the test papers one by one and put them into her notebook, then stood up, picked up her book and prepared to leave the library.
The red light shining through the window illuminated half of the library. Chi Jinjin looked in the direction of the light and accidentally saw a book on the bookshelf. The words "Live like a summer flower" were written on the book.
There is a layer of gold hot stamping next to the characters, and in the red sunlight, the four characters look like they were hot stamped by the sun.
Chi Jinjin walked forward and took the book off the bookshelf.
"You can read Rabindranath Tagore's Life is Like a Summer Flower. Of all his works, this is my favorite. It's very good."
Nan Xuqiu's words echoed in Chi Jinjin's mind.
She reached out and took the book down from the shelf.
"Teacher, I want to borrow this book." Chi Jinjin walked up to the librarian and placed the book in front of her.
The librarian took out a piece of paper from the drawer, pushed it in front of Chi Jinjin, and said, "Fill in your name and class here."
Chi Jinjin took a pen to fill in the form, but unexpectedly discovered that the last person who borrowed this book was Nan Xuqiu.
So, she was looking at the book he had flipped through?
Chi Jinjin was ecstatic.
"Student?" the teacher asked, noticing she was holding the pen still. "What's wrong? Do you have any questions?"
"Ah?" Chi Jinjin came back to his senses and quickly shook his head and said, "No, there's nothing wrong."
She quickly wrote down her name.
When Chi Jinjin saw her name next to Nan Xuqiu's, she felt extremely happy and was happy for a very long time.
The birds flying across the sky and the grass swaying in the wind made her feel that the world was exceptionally beautiful.
Everything in the world is like Nan Xuqiu.
After returning to the dormitory, Chi Jinjin couldn't wait to watch "Born Like Summer Flowers" again.
Just as she was engrossed in reading, Shen Moli's sarcastic voice came from the side. She said, "It's already this time, and you can still concentrate on reading?"
"Why can't I see it?" Chi Jinjin felt that she was puzzled.
Shen Moli came up and said to her, "I heard that your good friend was dragged to the Great Hall by several men in the third year of high school. They said they wanted to have a good exchange with her."
As she spoke, Shen Moli opened her phone and displayed the video sent in the group in front of Chi Jinjin.
There was a basketball court in the middle of the auditorium, and the surrounding platforms were the audience seats. Tang Shi was surrounded by several boys on the basketball court, and there were also many boys in the audience seats making noises and yelling.
Chi Jinjin immediately became nervous, she stood up and rushed out of the dormitory.
"What did you tell her to do?" Wang Xiaomo asked Shen Moli in confusion.
Shen Moli said with a smile, "Do you think she can save Tang Shi with her own strength? Senior Song said that Tang Shi and Chi Jinjin will each get their own share. I think no one would not want to get double the money."
Wang Xiaomo instantly understood Shen Moli’s intention, and a wicked smile appeared on his face.
Chi Jinjin rushed all the way to the Great Hall.
The boys in the auditorium threatened Tang Shi, "If you don't kneel down, we will strip you naked today and post it online."
Tang Shi immediately punched the threatening boy and angrily said, "Come on if you dare! I'm afraid of you, little bastard!"
"Fuck you, bitch!" The boy was immediately enraged and joined forces with a few others to tear off Tang Shi's clothes.
Tang Shi started fighting with them directly.
In the chaos, a boy punched Tang Shi in the face. No matter how strong Tang Shi was, she was a girl after all. She could not withstand such a great force and fell directly, hitting her head on the basketball pole.
"Tang Shi!" Chi Jinjin rushed over and saw Tang Shi lying on the ground with blood slowly flowing from his head.
Several boys seemed to be frightened and stood there in a daze for a moment.
Chi Jinjin hurriedly ran forward and helped Tang Shi up from the ground.
The boys seemed to know that they had caused trouble and slipped away one by one.
Chi Jinjin covered her bleeding wound helplessly.
Seeing her anxious tears streaming down her face, Tang Shi said, "Jinjin, I'm fine."
"I, I, I'll take you to the infirmary!" Chi Jinjin helped Tang Shi up with difficulty and took her to the infirmary.
The teacher in the infirmary disinfected the wound on her forehead with disinfectant, wiped off the blood and disinfectant with sterile cotton, and finally applied medicine and wrapped sterile gauze around her head.
"These bastards, how dare they bully you like that!" Chi Jinjin cursed indignantly, looking at the injured Tang Shi, tears in her eyes, full of heartache.
Tang Shi was surprised and said, "Oh my God, Chi Jinjin has known you for so long, and this is the first time I hear you swear."
"Stop laughing at me. Why didn't you call me? What if I didn't come and something really happened to you?" Chi Jinjin said uncomfortably.
Tang Shi smiled carelessly and said, "I didn't think of it for the moment, but, those cowards, I don't think they dare to do anything serious."
"You, don't cry, I'm fine, really. The doctor just said that I'm fine and I just need to rest." Tang Shi comforted Chi Jinjin who was frowning in front of him.
Chi Jinjin knew that it wasn't that she didn't remember him, but she simply didn't want to call him for fear of getting him into trouble.
But Chi Jinjin didn't say anything. She wiped the tears from her face and said, "Then you should have a good rest."
"Yeah." Tang Shi slowly lay down.
Chi Jinjin covered her with a blanket.
Then Chi Jinjin left the ward and went to the front desk to check out.
"The total is two hundred yuan, classmate." The doctor said to her.
Chi Jinjin felt in his pocket and only found twenty yuan.
"Um, doctor sister, I was in a hurry to go out and didn't bring that much money with me. Can I go back to the dormitory to get it?" Chi Jinjin asked a little embarrassedly.
Fortunately, the doctor was very understanding and nodded, allowing her to go back to the dormitory to get it.
Chi Jinjin returned to the dormitory, took out a few hundred yuan from her wallet, and then hurried to the infirmary.
When passing by the playground, I suddenly heard Song Ci's laughter.
Chi Jinjin looked over and saw that they were indeed on the playground.
Ji Yang wiped the sweat off his face, picked up the bottle of water, twisted the cap, and asked Song Ci with a smile, "Old Song, didn't you say that within three days, you would make Tang Xuemei from Class 140 of Grade 11 kneel down and beg for mercy? Why hasn't she done anything yet?"
As Song Ci shot the basketball, he said, "This woman is a little harder to deal with than I thought, but I promise that within three days, she will kneel down and beg for mercy!"
Chi Jinjin, who was listening and looking at his happy expression, couldn't help but clench the money in her hand.
It was clearly him who did something wrong, but now he is living happily here, while Tang Shi was almost insulted and lying in the infirmary with injuries.
The more Chi Jinjin thought about it, the angrier she became, and her fists clenched tighter and tighter.
“Song Ci!!”
Chi Jinjin walked onto the playground and shouted angrily.
This was probably the loudest she had ever spoken to Song Ci, and also the loudest she had ever spoken since she came to this school.
Song Ci stopped shooting and turned to look over.
Seeing that it was Chi Jinjin, he sneered, walked up to her while patting the basketball, and asked nonchalantly, "Why did you call me?"
Chi Jinjin asked, "You keep asking us to apologize. Do you think what we did was wrong and that we need to apologize to you?"
