Chapter 44: Drunk
In Chi Jinjin's memory, Nan Xuqiu had always been clean and tidy. She had never seen him so messy. It felt like they were two different people.
One is like a bamboo or a lotus, holy and inviolable; the other is like a red rose or a Lycoris radiata, mysterious, dangerous and alluring. It is obviously the same face, but now Chi Jinjin feels unfamiliar with it.
She was frightened and walked to his side hesitantly, calling him, "Senior..."

He lowered his head, and the smooth hair on his forehead blocked his eyes, making Chi Jinjin even more confused about what he wanted to do.
But it gave her a very lonely and gloomy feeling. She remembered that he used to be full of energy and high spirits. She didn't know if it was because her previous understanding of him was too one-sided. Perhaps this was the real Nan Xuqiu under the gentle mask.
"Chi Jinjin, tell me..." Nan Xuqiu asked after a long silence, "If I hadn't made that decision back then, would the ending have been different?"
"Of all of us, I'm the only one now. I didn't go to college, and I spend my days idling around in this big city. If I hadn't made that decision back then, maybe I'd still be your schoolmate, right?" Nan Xuqiu laughed hoarsely, self-deprecatingly saying, "I left everything behind, away from my friends, my hometown, and my future, only to end up watching her sleep with another man all night. Chi Jinjin was shocked. From what he said, it seemed that he was saying that Lin Shuya had cheated on him abroad.
So, when Lin Shuya was with that member of the boy band, she had not yet broken up with Nan Xuqiu. Did they break up because of this incident?
Chi Jinjin didn't expect that this would be the reason.

"Senior, stop joking." Chi Jinjin's heart was in a mess. She didn't expect Nan Xuqiu to say such words. It was totally unlike him.
Nan Xuqiu didn't say anything.
The hand that was holding her arm slowly climbed up her back like a snake, causing Chi Jinjin to stiffen all over.
He slowly approached, the distance between them getting shorter and shorter, and his other hand touched her face, the tip of his thumb gently stroking the corner of Chi Jinjin's lips.
Nan Xuqiu stared at her lips with an undisguised look in his eyes, and asked in a low, seductive voice, "Tell me, if I kiss you, how long will it take you to forget this feeling?"
His words seemed to be spoken to her, but also seemed to be spoken to himself.
The smell of alcohol on his body, like a dark cloud, pressed towards Chi Jinjin.
Feeling the warmth from the palm behind her, Chi Jinjin subconsciously wanted to move back to create some distance between them, but the force behind her prevented her from moving at all.
Nan Xuqiu stared at her lips with his sharp eyes, slightly opened his lips and slowly moved closer.
Chi Jinjin was shocked and turned away in fear, saying, "Senior! You are drunk! I am Chi Jinjin!"
Seeing her panicked expression, Nan Xuqiu was startled, then burst into laughter, let her go, picked up the wine on the table and took a sip, and said with a smile, "I know you are Chi Jinjin, I was just joking with you just now, you don't really think I want to kiss you?"
When Chi Jinjin heard this, her face flushed immediately. She felt embarrassed and said stubbornly, "I, I didn't..."
She didn't expect that Nan Xuqiu would become so bad when he was drunk and would joke about this kind of thing to tease her.
Chi Jinjin's face was anxious. She checked the time and said, "Senior, it's really getting late. Let me take you away."
As she spoke, she stood up and took his hand, trying to help him up.
But unexpectedly, the next moment Nan Xuqiu hugged her in his arms and kissed her lips.

Nan Xuqiu opened his eyes and stared at her expression. Seeing that she didn't react at all, as if she was scared silly, he smiled, then slowly closed his eyes and opened his mouth to suck gently.
Chi Jinjin finally came to her senses and realized that she was being kissed by Nan Xuqiu!
She quickly reached out and pushed him away.
"Nan Xuqiu! Are you crazy?" Chi Jinjin was furious and her heart was in turmoil. She wanted to stay away from him, but he held her tightly. His arms were like steel bars holding her back, and the hand on her right shoulder was holding her tightly like an iron claw.
Nan Xuqiu looked at her struggling to get free, with a hint of a smile on his lips, like a gentleman with bad manners.
He touched his cheek with the tip of his tongue and smiled, "Tell me, if I kiss you, can you still be just friends with me?"
The wine glass fell to the ground and shattered into pieces in an instant, spilling the red wine. Nan Xuqiu kissed Chi Jinjin's lips again, pressed her directly onto the sofa, and pried open her lips and teeth.
Chi Jinjin had never experienced such a thing before. She was panicked and scared, and her hands were trying hard to push the person away.
But he clamped her wrist and pressed it against his chest. She tore off the buttons of his black shirt while struggling, and her hand touched the skin of his chest again.
This was undoubtedly like adding fuel to the fire, making Nan Xuqiu's kiss even hotter and more intense, almost suffocating her.
Chi Jinjin used a lot of strength to push the person away. She ran to the door and turned around to go out.
But when she put her hand on the door handle, she couldn't help but look back at him. He was lying quietly on the sofa.
"Nan Xuqiu?" Chi Jinjin called him cautiously.
He didn't respond.
Chi Jinjin plucked up the courage, walked forward and took a look, he seemed to be asleep.
She really wanted to turn around and leave, not bothering with this person anymore, but then she thought about what happened in school.
Chi Jinjin couldn't bear it anymore and woke him up. He seemed to be even drunker and was in a daze. However, he was not as bad as before. It was as if he suddenly changed his personality and became very well-behaved.
Chi Jinjin asked him to get up, and he stood up, but he was shaky and staggered as he walked.
Afraid that he would fall, Chi Jinjin had no choice but to step forward, support him, and take him out of the bar. They found a hotel nearby and booked two rooms for him to stay in.
She helped Nan Xuqiu onto the bed.
"You just have to bear with it here for today and have a good rest. I'm leaving." Chi Jinjin said to Nan Xuqiu who was lying on the bed.
But just as she reached the door, she heard the sound of something heavy falling to the ground.
Chi Jinjin turned back and saw Nan Xuqiu sitting on the ground.
"What are you doing? Go to sleep." Chi Jinjin walked up to him and looked at him. Fortunately, he was not injured.
Nan Xuqiu said a little aggrievedly, "I'm thirsty and want to drink some water."
"Don't run around, I'll pour you some water." Chi Jinjin got up and poured him a glass of water.
Nan Xuqiu took it and drank it quickly.
Chi Jinjin took the cup from his hand, put it on the bedside table next to him, and helped him back to bed.
Looking at the person lying on the bed, Chi Jinjin thought, he is so agitated, leaving him here alone, nothing will happen...
Chi Jinjin was worried. After thinking about it, she decided to wait until he fell asleep and calmed down before leaving.
So she sat down beside his bed and waited until he fell asleep.
As time passed, Chi Jinjin couldn't help but feel tired.
I leaned against the edge of the bed and fell asleep unknowingly.
But Nan Xuqiu slowly opened his eyes, and his blurred eyes were now extremely clear.
He sat up from the bed and turned to look at Chi Jinjin who was sleeping next to him.
Nan Xuqiu got out of bed, squatted down beside her quietly, tilted his head and looked at her sleeping face quietly. He raised his hand to brush away a strand of hair that fell on her face, then slowly leaned closer and gave her a small kiss on the forehead.
Then Chi Jinjin was picked up from the ground by Nan Xuqiu and gently placed on the bed.
The next day, a ray of sunlight passed through the gap in the blackout curtains and climbed onto Chi Jinjin's face.
Chi Jinjin was awakened by the sunlight and slowly opened her eyes. The dazzling light made her subconsciously turn over.
I was about to continue sleeping, but I felt a stream of warm breath pouring down from the top of my head, making me feel itchy.
She looked up and suddenly woke up. She was actually sleeping in the same bed with Nan Xuqiu, in his arms. A handsome face was very close to her, and his high nose was just touching her forehead.
The memories of yesterday suddenly came back to Chi Jinjin's mind.
She couldn't understand why she ended up on the bed when she was clearly at the bedside. Could it be that she had fallen asleep and climbed up on it?
Chi Jinjin wanted to evacuate quickly, otherwise it would be so embarrassing. It would be even worse if he misunderstood that she was taking advantage of someone else's misfortune.
She carefully removed his hand from her waist, held her breath, and slowly moved back.
But she still woke him up. Nan Xuqiu slowly opened his eyes and looked at her.
Chi Jinjin panicked and fell off the bed. Nan Xuqiu immediately reached out to grab her, but it was too late.
Fortunately, the bed is not high.
"Are you okay?" Nan Xuqiu asked nervously.
"It's okay, it's okay!" Chi Jinjin replied quickly, standing up from the ground. Seeing Nan Xuqiu, her eyes involuntarily fell on his lips. There was a small black blood scab on his lips, as if she had accidentally broken it in a panic yesterday.
Thinking of this, Chi Jinjin's face turned red again, and she was so embarrassed that she didn't know what to say.
"Where is this place?" Nan Xuqiu asked, looking around.
Chi Jinjin didn't dare look him in the eye and replied, "Well, you were drunk yesterday, and they said they were going to leave you at the door, so I brought you here temporarily..."
"Oh, I'm really sorry to bother you. I haven't done anything wrong, have I?" Nan Xuqiu asked.
"Ah?" Chi Jinjin was surprised. She looked up at him, only to see his face full of confusion and doubt. She asked hesitantly, "Senior, you... don't remember?"
Nan Xuqiu said, "I can't get drunk. Once I'm drunk, I'll forget everything I did. So I didn't cause you any trouble yesterday."

Looking at the closed door, Nan Xuqiu touched the wound on his lip with his fingertips again and smiled gently.
