Chapter 81 Preface to Autumn

Chapter 81 Preface to Autumn

"Female, female?" Song Ci was stunned.

"What else?" Tang Shi asked back. Seeing that his hand was not injured, she felt relieved. Then she thought of something and said, "I'm not saying it, but in your heart, I am such a person?"

"No, your childhood friend looks too much like a boy, it's hard for me not to misunderstand..." Song Ci said, and the anger in his heart dissipated instantly.

"You bastard Song Ci, you actually think I will become that kind of woman? Go to hell!" Tang Shi took the bag and threw it at Song Ci.

When Ji Yang came over, he saw Tang Shi holding Song Ci by the back of the collar, like holding a chicken.

He smiled helplessly, shook his head and muttered, "I really did this in vain."

After saying that, Ji Yang turned around, returned to his car, and drove away.

Nan Xuqiu stopped the car at the door of his house, turned around and saw Chi Jinjin had fallen asleep in the car.

He got out of the car, opened the door next to her, unbuckled her seat belt, then covered her with his coat and gently lifted her up from the seat.

Then walk back into the house.

Aunt Zhuang was about to speak when she saw them come back.

Nan Xuqiu gestured to her that Jinjin had fallen asleep.

Aunt Zhuang quickly shut up.

Nan Xuqiu smiled and walked upstairs holding Chi Jinjin.

"Oh, how happy I am."

Aunt Zhuang looked at them and said with great joy and relief.

"It's their happiness, what does it have to do with you?"

When Zhuang Shu saw this, he couldn't help but speak.

Aunt Zhuang rolled her eyes at him and said, "You know shit."

"Yes, I don't understand. I only know that I buy things for you because I know you like it." Uncle Zhuang took out a box of small cakes from behind and handed it to Aunt Zhuang.

On Monday, Nan Xuqiu went back to school.

Chi Jinjin was at work when someone came up to her and said, "Jinjin, someone is looking for you downstairs."

"Looking for me?" Chi Jinjin was a little excited, wondering if there was a case coming up.

So she hurried downstairs.

But the person who saw it was Lin Shuya.

Although Lin Shuya was wearing a mask and sunglasses, Chi Jinjin still recognized her at a glance.

She walked up to Chi Jinjin and said, "Let's talk."

"Okay." Chi Jinjin agreed.

The two sat down at a nearby afternoon tea shop.

"I thought you wouldn't agree and wouldn't dare to come." Lin Shuya leaned back in her chair and said with a contemptuous tone.

"Why shouldn't I come? I haven't done anything wrong." Chi Jinjin asked back.

Lin Shuya said, "Isn't it a bad conscience to steal someone's boyfriend?"

"Ms. Lin, you are really forgetful. Didn't you and Nan Xuqiu break up a long time ago? I only got together with him after that." Chi Jinjin said frankly.

Lin Shuya never expected that the girl who was so timid in front of her five years ago would now dare to look her in the eye.

She actually felt a little hesitant.

Lin Shuya sneered, pretending to be calm, and said, "I really admire you. After five years, you still like him. Congratulations, you have planned so hard and finally snatched him away from me."

"I didn't snatch him away from him. You were the one who pushed him to my side. Have you really forgotten everything you did?" Chi Jinjin said bluntly, "Besides, aren't you still the same? After all these years, you still like him. If you didn't, why would you come all the way here and waste your words on me?"

Lin Shuya's hand on the table slowly clenched into a fist.

She gritted her teeth and mocked, "Chi Jinjin, I have to say, you are really generous. I have lived with him for five whole years. Now all the sweet things he has done with you, he has also done with me. Don't you feel angry and disgusted?"

"Liking someone isn't something shameful or immoral, so why should I feel disgusted or angry?" Chi Jinjin asked, then slowly continued, "Everyone has the right to like someone. He can like me, you, or even someone else. Just because he doesn't like me, should I feel disgusted with him? No, that's selfish. I like him, but that doesn't mean he becomes my property, and he has to like me too. He is an independent individual and has the right to choose."

Chi Jinjin lowered her eyes, looked at the rabbit bracelet on her wrist, smiled lightly, and said, "Nan Xuqiu, liking someone is always pure and wholehearted, whether it's me or you, so why should I be angry?"

"Wholeheartedly?" Lin Shuya smiled bitterly and sighed, "He only likes you wholeheartedly. He doesn't even like me."

Lin Shuya fell into reminiscence, muttering, "He and I were together in the third year of junior high school, but he broke up with me after just one semester. Later, in the second year of high school, I stood by the river and threatened him, forcing him to get back together with me. We agreed to date for another four years. I thought four years would be enough for him to fall in love with me, but in the end, I failed. He always treated me like a friend, without a single sweet word, without a single intimate moment. He was always so polite and distant..."

So, she couldn't control herself and threw herself into the arms of another man.

She even hoped that this would allow her to see a hint of anger on his face, or perhaps that he would get furious and question her.

At least this way, she can feel that he likes her too.

But he didn't. No matter how many ambiguous words she said to others, or even when she brought a man home to spend the night and he caught them in bed, he just calmly took back the books that he insisted on taking away.

Her existence is not as important as those tattered books...

She thought that was how he felt about love, but until that night, she saw that scene.

Only then did she realize that he had never loved her, not even for a moment.

Lin Shuya stood up, turned around and left the tea shop without saying a word.

Chi Jinjin watched her leave and fell into deep thought...

The next day, Chi Jinjin went to the street to buy something, but happened to meet Ji Yang.

Ji Yang invited Chi Jinjin to have a cup of coffee together.

The two sat facing each other.

"When Lin Shuya appeared that day, I was worried about whether she would have any impact on your relationship. Now it seems that I was worrying too much." Ji Yang said, looking at Chi Jinjin.

Chi Jinjin lowered her head and smiled.

Ji Yang looked out the window and said, "Actually, Lao Nan and Lin Shuya are quite blaming me for this matter."

"Blame you?" Chi Jinjin was puzzled. What did this have to do with him?

Ji Yang saw her confusion and slowly explained, "When we were in junior high school, Lao Nan was always with Song Ci. Song Ci was like the King of Hell. Any girl would run away when she saw him. As a result, Lao Nan had no girls to approach him. Only Lin Shuya was brave enough to get close to us and Lao Nan every day. I was superficial at the time and thought they looked quite a good match. And mainly because I also had a crush on one of Lin Shuya's best friends, so I reached an agreement with Lin Shuya to bring them together."

"Don't underestimate Lao Nan because he's smart and seems to know everything. He actually knows nothing about love. So when he asked me curiously what love was, I lied to him and said that what he felt for Lin Shuya was love. Then Lao Nan agreed to Lin Shuya's confession." Ji Yang said.

Chi Jinjin listened and recalled what Nan Xuqiu said that night.

"Jinjin, do you believe it? From the beginning to the end, I have only loved you."

It turns out that everything he said was true.

Ji Yang sighed and said, "They broke up not long after that, but Lin Shuya jumped into the river to threaten him. Now that I think about it, I really hurt him."

So that's how it is.

Chi Jinjin thought to herself.

Ji Yang blamed himself a little and said, "Xiao Chi, I'm sorry. If I hadn't messed around back then, maybe you and Lao Nan wouldn't have had so many twists and turns and missed opportunities."

"I believe that everything is destined. All beautiful things require twists and turns. It is these twists and turns that make them so precious. Only after being tempered can one face the wind and rain." Chi Jinjin said to Ji Yang calmly, telling him that she didn't care about what happened in the past. For her, as long as she is the person Nan Xuqiu likes now, that's enough.

Ji Yang said with a smile, "Sometimes, I think you are quite like a human being."

"Who?" Chi Jinjin asked.

Ji Yang said, "My mother is also a student of Fuhua. She is as quiet and gentle as you. She was a talented woman in the Chinese Department of Fuhua back then. The way you reason with others is really similar to her. It's a pity that she entrusted her trust to the wrong person..."

He lowered his head, gave a bitter laugh, took a sip of coffee, and changed the subject, saying, "Forget it, let's not talk about this. To be honest, I think there's something very strange."

"What's the matter?" Chi Jinjin asked.

Ji Yang said, "Old Nan has always been quite indifferent. Nothing can scare him. But that day when Lin Shuya was about to jump into the river, he stood there without saying a word, but his face turned pale instantly and his hands were shaking. I have never seen him like this before. I think Old Nan may have a big secret, a secret that Old Song and I don't know."

secret?

What secret could it be?

After Chi Jinjin returned, she kept thinking about Ji Yang's words.

She came to Nan Xuqiu's room and originally just wanted to take a look, but she saw that the books on his bedside were a little messy.

So Chi Jinjin walked over, tidied things up for him, and then bent down to close his drawer.

But she was suddenly stunned to find that there were so many medicines in the drawer.

Chi Jinjin squatted down, picked up the medicine and took a look at it. She was very confused. She had never seen him sick before, so why did he have so many medicines?

Could it be the medicine for my last cold or injury?

Chi Jinjin thought about it, put the medicine back and closed the drawer.

On Saturday, Nan Xuqiu came back from school and picked up Chi Jinjin from get off work in the afternoon.

When Chi Jinjin saw him when she came out of the elevator, a smile immediately lit up her face and she ran over.

Nan Xuqiu stood in place, smiling, and caught Chi Jinjin who was running towards him with one hand.

"You're here." Chi Jinjin was very happy.

"Yeah." Nan Xuqiu rubbed her head and said, "Let's go and have dinner."

"Okay." Chi Jinjin took his arm.

Nan Xuqiu lowered his head and took her hand, and they walked out together.

"Chi Jinjin, you two should know each other, right?"

Someone behind him asked Xiang Gaoyi.

Gao Yi snorted coldly and said sarcastically, "More than knowing each other, we almost became boyfriend and girlfriend, but when this guy showed up, Chi Jinjin kicked me out."

"No way, is she that kind of person?" the man said in disbelief, "She doesn't look like that."

"People's hearts are hidden." Gao Yi sneered contemptuously, mocking...

After dinner, Chi Jinjin and Nan Xuqiu took a walk in the park.

Chi Jinjin jumped onto the tiles at the edge of the flower bed and walked on them wobbly for fun.

Nan Xuqiu smiled dotingly, raised his hand to hold her wrist, and the two of them walked slowly forward.

I reached the end and jumped down like a little kid.

I saw some entertainment facilities in front.

"Let's go play over there." Chi Jinjin took his hand and ran forward.

Seeing the seesaw, Chi Jinjin excitedly called Nan Xuqiu to play with it.

Nan Xuqiu felt embarrassed and said, "This is a child's toy."

"Oh, we are children too. We are grown-up kids. It's okay. There is no one here anyway." Chi Jinjin pulled him to sit on the seesaw.

At first, Nan Xuqiu was a little embarrassed, but looking at Chi Jinjin's smile, he was gradually infected by it, forgetting many of his concerns, as if he had really become a child, and started playing with Chi Jinjin.

Chi Jinjin looked at his happy smile and thought that Nan Xuqiu was probably like this when he was a child, happy, joyful and carefree.

At this moment, the only thing she envied about Lin Shuya was that she had seen Nan Xuqiu when he was a child.

If only I could see it myself...

Chi Jinjin thought about it.

After getting tired of playing, the two walked to the riverside again, enjoying the evening breeze.

The city has fallen into a gentle sleepiness. There are two moons in the sky, one in the sky and the other in the water. The moon in the sky is walking alone in the clouds, sprinkling fine salt on the streets of the world. The salt grains contain the sweetness of a season.

"Nan Xuqiu, I have something to ask you." Chi Jinjin looked at him and said.

"You ask." Nan Xuqiu said.

Chi Jinjin was puzzled. "I went to your room one day and saw a lot of medicine in your bedside drawer. Why are there so many medicines?"

Nan Xuqiu replied, "I had accumulated some of these because of various minor illnesses, but I felt it would be a shame to throw them away, so I just put them there."

"Is that so?" Chi Jinjin nodded, breathed a sigh of relief, and said, "I was scared to death. I thought you were hiding something from me and were sick."

Nan Xuqiu smiled helplessly, poked her forehead, and said, "You are stupid. If I have any health problems, can I pass the physical examination of our school?"

Chi Jinjin thought, it seemed so.

"Stop thinking too much. There are already enough things in your little head. I'm really worried that you don't have enough memory." Nan Xuqiu said with a smile.

"It's okay, I will automatically delete some junk." Chi Jinjin said.

Nan Xuqiu leaned back against the guardrail and said, "Then will you delete me?"

Chi Jinjin also moved closer to him and said with a smile, "You are the original one from the factory, you can't be deleted."

Nan Xuqiu lowered his head and laughed.

Chi Jinjin turned to face the river, and the wind blew her hair.

She asked curiously again, "Nan Xuqiu, why do you call yourself Nan Xuqiu?"

Nan Xuqiu looked at her and replied, "I was born in September. It is September now, and it is the third autumn, so my name is Xuqiu."
