Chapter 43: Banging the Door
Jiang Qingxi held her wrist lovingly and took her into the bedroom.
"I'll help sister bandage her wound. This little wolf cub was really cruel when he bit me. It might even leave a scar. I really don't like him anymore."
Xun Moli listened to the sound of doors slamming mercilessly, and the strong smell of blood filled his mouth, making it impossible for him to ignore what had just happened.
A sense of guilt gradually arose in my heart, but it was soon filled with resentment.
If Jiang Qingning shouted something, would he kill him?
It’s all this woman’s fault!
She must have done it on purpose!
Nanny Zhang sighed, put on her coat, and walked to the door of Xun Moli's room, her heart full of heartache for Jiang Qingning.
She sighed softly and said, "It was not Miss's wish to keep you at the Anping Marquis's residence back then. But you are only a child after all. How could I take you to a cold and bitter place like the Taoist temple on the outskirts of the city? I know you harbor resentment."
"But the eldest lady went through two whole days of labor to give birth to you, even using an entire branch of century-old ginseng. After you were born, the old lady wanted to take you away. It was the eldest lady who later knelt in the snow for three whole days in the coldest days of winter before she successfully took you back and carefully raised you."
Xun Moli, who was full of anger, was stunned at the door. He turned around in disbelief and looked at the door in surprise.
Nanny Zhang's back was at the door, and her gentle words successfully penetrated into his heart, making Xun Moli feel a little uncomfortable.
"Because of this, the uncle didn't enter the eldest daughter's courtyard for a whole six months. Everyone said that the eldest daughter was unfilial and would not obey her mother-in-law's wishes. She deserved to be disliked by everyone."
"But the old lady ignored you. In the half month since you were born, before you were even a month old, you had a high fever three times and nearly died. How could the young lady bear to see her own child, whom she had carried for ten months and given birth to, die in someone else's care?"
Xun Moli lowered his eyes. How could that be?
My grandmother said she loved him the most, and even asked the maids and servants to play with him all day long.
Even for the studies he disliked, she dotingly agreed to reduce his study time. Grandmother was not the vicious person that Aunt Zhang said.
Grandmother loves herself the most. It must be Jiang Qingning who secretly ordered the old lady to speak, deliberately destroying the position of grandmother in his heart, and trying to sow discord between them!
"Who knows whether what you said is true or false!" Xun Moli said angrily.
"But the eldest young lady took care of you until you were two years old, and then the old lady accused her of a false crime and demanded that she enter the Taoist temple to pray for the Earl of Anping and cleanse her own sins at the same time."
"She got what she deserved for talking back to her grandmother!" Xun Moli retorted stubbornly.
"But I feel that the only sins committed by the eldest lady were brought upon her by the Anping Marquis's Mansion." Nanny Zhang answered calmly.
"You have your own opinions, but the young lady has never treated you unfairly. Today, someone is deliberately trying to frame the young lady with your life, hoping to eliminate her completely."
"But in this entire capital, apart from the Anping Marquis's Mansion, who has the young lady ever offended? You used to be a smart child. You understood some things without me having to point them out."
Nanny Zhang bowed and said, "That's all I have to say. No matter what choice you make, I will only say this once. Please rest well."
Xun Moli stared at the disappearing figure in silence. Nanny Zhang's words kept ringing in his mind countless times, making him feel like his head was about to explode.
The next day.
"Open the door! Open the door! Open the door quickly!"
Someone slammed the door of Ningge's room.
The two doormen were woken up and ran over, opened the door and asked, "What are you doing? Can't you see our door is closed? Ning Pavilion is not accepting guests today."
The man said ferociously: "We don't care whether you see the guests or not, where is Jiang Qingning! Our master wants to see her!"
The doorman stretched his head to look and saw Xun Chen sitting in a sedan chair at the bottom of the steps with a gloomy face, and an attendant beside him was holding a cane.
"Just wait! Whether you meet or not, you must obey our eldest lady's orders. How dare you trespass!"
"Even if an official trespasses into someone else's residence, he will be held accountable by the emperor! He really thinks he's a big shot!"
The moment the doorman saw Xun Chen, his temper instantly disappeared. He pushed the man out with a gloomy face and slammed the door shut.
"Hey! How dare you stop the Earl of Anping! You truly have no manners at all!"
The servants of the Xun Mansion shouted angrily and were about to kick the door.
The Ning Pavilion's doorman had just taken two steps when he heard this. One of them immediately picked up a broom and the other picked up a bucket, then opened the door and greeted them.
"How dare you!"
The servants of the Xun Mansion were beaten all over and then doused with cold water from head to toe, and they shivered immediately.
"How dare you trespass into a private residence? We'll report you to the police! Whether you want to see your master or not, you'll have to wait until my master wakes up!"
"That's right! Just wait here!"
The two men put away their weapons in anger and closed the third door of the mansion tightly.
Xun Chen saw this scene, and a hint of anger appeared on his expressionless face.
He ordered Zhuxi in a cold voice: "If you don't come out within an incense stick of time, just break in!"
Zhuxi was stunned, but he could only do as he was told.
Jiang Qingning and Jiang Qingxi were walking in the garden, enjoying the beautiful spring scenery.
She was wearing a lavender dress, with long black hair flowing down her body. She had cool eyebrows, delicate facial features, and fair and flawless skin, and her whole body exuded a noble temperament that was isolated from the world.
"This garden is still a little too lonely, but if Sister can plant more flowers and plants, I'm sure next year the garden will be filled with springtime."
Jiang Qingxi was running happily. She was wearing a light yellow dress and an exquisite hairpin in her hair. Her face was full of childishness and looked cute and charming.
However, there are some heroic spirit mixed in, which adds a bit of temperament of a woman who is as capable as a man.
"What kind of flowers do you like? I'll have the housekeeper buy them and plant them. I'll also build a swing for you. When the vines are all over the swing, you can eat the fruit and swing on it in the fall."
Jiang Qingning looked at Jiang Qingxi's back lovingly, with a smile on his face.
"Flowers and plants can only be looked at but not eaten. Why not plant more fruits? I like peaches, pears, grapes, and even cherries!"
Jiang Qingxi turned around excitedly, as if he had already seen the scene of a garden full of fruits.
"Okay, then plant your favorite fruit trees." Jiang Qingning stopped Nanny Zhang who was about to say something and agreed.
Nanny Zhang looked at the huge garden, and the scene of a garden full of fruit trees emerged in her mind, and she couldn't help but groan.
I'm afraid that next year they would rather communicate with their neighbors and grow their own fruits to give away.
The doormen came running over, angrily saying, "Miss, Earl Anping is outside our house. He said if you don't leave within an incense stick of time, he'll send someone to break down our door!"
