Chapter 112 Pharmaceuticals

Su Huaiyue had just settled the villagers, but the tension in her heart did not subside in the slightest.

Just as she was about to return to her cabin, she suddenly felt a strange sound of wind coming from behind her.

She turned around subconsciously and saw a tall figure, it was Zhang Qu.

"Madam Wei," Zhang Qu said with a cold smile on his face, and slowly approached, "Where did you go just now?"

As he spoke, he moved closer to Su Huaiyue and sniffed his shoulder. The next second, a weapon flashing with a cold light was pressed against Su Huaiyue's neck.

Su Huaiyue's heartbeat suddenly quickened.

She knew that Zhang Qu was a smart and dangerous man, so she didn't dare to answer easily.

Zhang Qu smelled the blood and earthy smell that Su Huaiyue had brought from the back mountain. His voice suddenly deepened, and the knife in his hand shone with a sharp, cold light. "You went to the back mountain?"

Su Huaiyue forced herself to remain calm and tried to find a suitable answer.

At this time, a gentle but firm voice came: "Zhang Qu, why are you bullying this beautiful lady?"

Su Huaiyue and Zhang Qu turned around at the same time and saw a gorgeously dressed woman walking lightly towards them.

It was Sally, her smile was gorgeous and charming.

"Shali," Zhang Qu frowned but did not put down the knife, "This is none of your business."

"Why are you so nervous? She's just a lady with great medical skills. Maybe she went to the back mountain to look for herbs."

Sha Li chuckled, her eyes showing interest in Su Huaiyue.

"I don't have that much patience with her."

Just when the situation was tense, Sally walked over and took away the knife that was on Su Huaiyue's neck.

"Don't be so fierce, don't you have something to ask for help?"

Sha Li walked in front of Su Huaiyue, with a softer look in her eyes.

"Madam Wei, I have always admired your medical skills. If you are interested, you may want to help us prepare a medicine."

Su Huaiyue was slightly surprised, but quickly regained her composure.

She knew in her heart that there must be something fishy going on.

Sha Li and Zhang Qu, one played the good guy and the other played the bad guy, obviously trying to test her intentions.

However, under the current circumstances, she could not act rashly and could only reply, "Thank you, Miss Sally, for your kindness, but I need to think about it."

Sha Li smiled slightly, reached out to tidy up Su Huaiyue's slightly messy hair, and said in a gentle but unyielding tone: "Of course, you have plenty of time to think about it."

The atmosphere eased slightly, but Zhang Qu seemed a little unwilling and still did not put down the knife in his hand.

"Madam Wei, there's no need to think so long about such a trivial matter. You just need to say whether you will do it or not?"

The cold ice blade was approaching again, leaving Su Huaiyue no time to think about strategy.

"Okay, I promise you."

Hearing what she wanted, Sally instantly revealed a sick smile.

"Thank you, Madam Wei." Shali gave Zhang Qu a look.

As night fell, Su Huaiyue looked carefully at the small dark room in front of him under the dim light.

The walls were mottled, cobwebs covered the corners, and there was a faint smell of dampness and decay.

Various herbs and utensils are placed on a simple wooden table, giving people the illusion of being in an ancient wizard's workshop.

Zhang Qu stood at the door, obviously wary of Su Huaiyue's actions.

He frowned and said, "According to this recipe, you only have one hour, so don't try any tricks."

There was obvious distrust in his voice, and his eyes kept shifting between her and the herbs.

Su Huaiyue glanced at the recipe he handed over. Each ingredient was non-toxic, but when added together, it was highly toxic. He was obviously testing her, "Poison? Don't worry, I know what to do."

She knew that this was a game that she had to win, not only for herself but also for everyone in the castle.

In a short while, she sorted the mountain of medicinal herbs into categories, prepared the appropriate dosage, and cooked them together according to their medicinal properties.

"You are quite skilled." Zhang Qu snorted coldly.

Su Huaiyue remained unmoved and continued to concentrate on making medicine.

Time passed by bit by bit, and Su Huaiyue carefully controlled the temperature, not allowing any mistakes.

Counting the time silently in her heart, she finished making the poison pill faster than expected, in just half an hour.

When she presented the pill to Zhang Qu in the final step, she smiled slightly and said, "It's done."

Zhang Qu was obviously a little surprised. He looked at the pill in Su Huaiyue's hand suspiciously, picked it up and put it to his nose and sniffed it. His expression did not change, but there was a hint of uneasiness in his eyes.

What she had to do was done, and now she had to wait for the opportunity to fight back - a silent game.

Zhang Qu turned around and walked out of the small dark room and into another room.

"Master Gu, this is what Madam Wei made. Can you check if it's usable?"

The man named Gu Yaoshi was an elderly man, and there was no trace of kindness in his eyes.

He assisted the evildoer and enjoyed the pleasure of killing others.

He took the pill and put it under his nose and sniffed it.

The expression changed from arrogance and disdain at the beginning to shock.

"This is the first time I've seen someone so bold in preparing poison. If the amount of certain herbs is not properly controlled, the person will die immediately after taking it, and the desired effect will not be achieved. However, she not only increased the dosage, but also did not kill the person in one blow."

Zhang Qu had only heard Shali mention it before, but he never expected that this woman's medical skills were so advanced.

After getting the answer he wanted, he turned and left the room.

Su Huaiyue sat under the light in the small dark room, looking at the medicinal herbs in the room. It was conceivable how many people could eat if all of these were made into pills. It seemed that they were preparing for a big move in the near future, and they did not have enough manpower to help them make the pills, so they set their sights on her.

She just didn't know how many people would suffer next, and she couldn't just stand by and watch.

It was late at night and the stars were twinkling above our heads, adding a touch of mystery to the dull room.

Suddenly, the sound of noisy footsteps outside the door interrupted her thoughts.

That was Zhang Qu's voice.

"Madam Wei, you can come out now."

Zhang Qu's voice came from outside the door, and it seemed to hide a complex emotion that could not be concealed.

Su Huaiyue carefully stored the herbs, straightened his clothes, and walked out of the small dark room with steady steps.

Zhang Qu stood at the door, with two guards beside him, holding spears in their hands and staring at him with vigilance.

Su Huaiyue understood and did not respond to their sharp gazes, but faced Zhang Qu directly.

"You can leave here today and come back tomorrow morning. If you leave after sunset, you will not be allowed to enter the small dark room again."

Zhang Qu said calmly, with an unquestionable indifference in his voice.

It seems that she has passed the test and is going to make poison for them.

"Okay." Su Huaiyue pretended to agree. Only by having in-depth contact with them could she find their fatal weaknesses.

"But who is this poison for?"

She asked casually, but there was a hint of inquiry in her eyes.
