A group of messengers dressed in black filed in. They searched her and, after confirming that she was unconscious, lifted her up roughly.
Along the way, Su Huaiyue was full of speculations in his mind.
The black-clad envoys were organized and clearly well-trained. They were probably Zhang Guzi's deployment.
After wandering through the dim corridor, she and everyone else were finally brought into a dark room.
She was not unfamiliar with this secret dark room. This was the place where she and Wei Che first explored it.
Back then she was bold but cautious, but now the situation is completely different.
Especially after knowing the evil hearts of these people, she had to be extra careful at every step, for fear that if she took a wrong step, everyone would die with her.
The black-clad messenger threw her casually to the ground, then left the room and locked the door tightly.
Su Huaiyue's heartbeat quickened slightly, and he secretly planned his next step in his mind.
The room was dark and damp, and oppressive silence shrouded it. She tried hard to suppress the panic in her heart, lying there motionless, continuing to pretend to be unconscious.
Su Huaiyue lay quietly on the cold ground, thinking quickly of a strategy in his mind.
She knew she had to find a way to escape quickly.
Hearing a slight noise coming from outside the room, she cautiously opened one eye slightly and quickly looked around.
The room was still the familiar dark room, with a few empty cages in the corner and a smell of decay in the air.
She instantly understood that these people's plan was to use them to raise bats.
The thought made her feel nauseous, but more of a sense of urgency. She had to rescue herself and others quickly.
There was a sound of the key turning, and then a messenger in black came in, checked the room, and seeing that Su Huaiyue was still "unconscious", he paid no further attention.
While Su Huaiyue continued to pretend to be unconscious, her ears caught a slight sound, and the sound of the door being quietly pushed open made her heart beat faster subconsciously.
Then, a pair of light footsteps sounded in the room.
Su Huaiyue held his breath and prepared to respond at any time.
"Madam Wei, wake up."
A whisper reached her ears.
The voice was gentle and urgent, it was Sally.
Su Huaiyue opened her eyes slightly and saw Shali leaning over her with an anxious look on her face.
She sat up and looked at Sally with a puzzled look.
"Why are you here?"
She asked in a low voice.
Sally looked around to make sure there was no one else around.
She explained, "I'm here to save you. These men in black are planning to use us to raise bats. You have to leave quickly."
Su Huaiyue looked at her carefully, and then heard her say, "Wei Che is not here, he may have managed to escape. Go out and look for him first, and then find a way to contact others. I believe you will succeed in the end."
Shali said this with great certainty, believing it more than Su Huaiyue herself, leaving no room for doubt.
Su Huaiyue nodded immediately, she stood up and tried her best to remain calm.
"Thanks, Sally."
She patted Sally's shoulder, her gratitude evident in words.
Sally took her hand and carefully led her through the narrow and dark corridor. The walls on both sides seemed to press down silently, making people feel suffocated.
They moved forward on tiptoe, trying not to make any noise to avoid being discovered by the patrolling black-clad messengers.
Su Huaiyue was filled with complicated feelings. This Shali always gave her a strange feeling. She was obviously doing good things, but people couldn't completely trust her. She always felt that there were some emotions hidden in her smile that others couldn't understand or see clearly.
After walking in the darkness for a few minutes, a faint light finally appeared ahead.
Su Huaiyue and Shali walked through the damp and dark corridor carefully, not daring to make any noise.
While catching his breath, Su Huaiyue observed everything around him vigilantly, his heart beating like a drum.
Even at such a critical moment, she remained calm and paid attention to every detail.
Sally suddenly stopped and pressed a hidden mechanism on the wall.
The wall shook slightly, and a larger room appeared.
Following Sally's guidance, Su Huaiyue recalled the last time he and Wei Che explored here and were bounced off this wall, and his doubts deepened.
"This is a door that will get us out."
Sally's voice was still gentle, yet a little thoughtful.
Su Huaiyue pretended not to know and nodded. "It seems these people are quite clever. The castle is full of traps. I hope we can escape successfully."
Sally found the mechanism, and the wall-like door suddenly popped open, making a loud noise that echoed through the mountains and forests.
Outside was the familiar statue and dense forest.
The two of them walked out together. Sha Li followed Su Huaiyue and asked casually, "Has Wei Che gone out to contact reinforcements? Will we be rescued soon?"
There was an irrepressible excitement in Sally's tone, as if they were really about to be rescued.
Su Huaiyue stopped and looked at Sally.
A trace of uneasiness flashed through her mind. Ever since she was rescued by Sally, the journey had been too smooth, without a single black-clad messenger. She had a vague feeling that something was fishy.
But she still needed to test and confirm. She looked at Shali and said with a smile: "Maybe!"
Su Huaiyue did not respond, but just silently quickened his pace.
The sound of the wind through the trees and the crunch of leaves under their feet were the only things that were not quiet around the castle.
The black-clad messengers set up defenses everywhere, and it was impossible that no one noticed them after they had been gone for so long.
Su Huaiyue's eyes tightened, then there was only one possibility.
They did it on purpose, setting a trap for her and waiting for her to fall into it.
Looking at the jubilant Sally beside him, he asked again, "I don't know where he went to get help. It is said that almost all the villages around here are their people. If we can't get help, we will be ruined here."
She believed that Wei Che would know the plans of these men in black no matter what, and she just needed to be careful and join them.
There were no longer oppressive walls around him, but an open and peaceful forest. The fresh air lifted Su Huaiyue's spirits.
However, the doubts in her heart did not disappear.
As Sally walked, she asked about Wei Che's affairs, and seemed to have other intentions.
Thinking of this, her brows furrowed slightly.
"Actually, Sally, I'm quite confused. Why aren't there any men in black here anymore? They let us escape so easily and even walked around the jungle so brazenly? Don't you think it's strange?"
Su Huaiyue asked casually, testing Shali's reaction.
Sally hesitated for a moment, then smiled and said, "Maybe they underestimated you and thought you were incapable of escaping."
There was a hint of strangeness in Sally's eyes as she spoke, and Su Huaiyue keenly caught it.
An uneasy premonition in her heart became clearer and clearer.
Perhaps things are not as simple as they seem.
