Chapter 135 An unexpected surprise

In the backyard of the Liu Mansion, sunlight shone through the shade of the trees onto the ground in patches. A few birds were jumping lightly on the branches, chirping in competition with each other.

Mrs. Liu was leading a few friends towards the pavilion in the center of the courtyard.

They were dressed in gorgeous dresses, swaying gracefully as they walked, and talking and laughing happily.

"Sisters, please."

Madam Liu smiled, waved her hand gently to signal them to sit down, and called the maid to serve them fragrant tea.

These ladies were excited and kept talking to each other, full of anticipation for the embroidery they were about to see.

Just then, Su Huaiyue and Wei Che walked in with Wang Susu.

Susu looked a little nervous, holding an exquisite embroidered box carefully in her hands. The bright silk reflected a soft light in the sunlight.

"Mrs. Liu, sisters, I'm sorry to trouble you."

Su Huaiyue was the first to break the silence and saluted with a smile.

Mrs. Liu stood up and greeted him warmly.

"Sister Huaiyue, I'm glad you're here. I heard Miss Wang is an excellent embroiderer. This time, I'm sure you'll amaze us."

Wang Susu smiled shyly and said, "Mrs. Liu, you are too kind. I hope you ladies can give me some advice on my cooking skills."

At Mrs. Liu's signal, Wang Susu carefully opened the embroidery box.

As the lid was opened, a lifelike landscape embroidery scroll appeared before everyone.

The scenery on the embroidery seems to jump off the paper, with gurgling streams, swaying green bamboos, and even petals scattered in the breeze are cleverly incorporated into the painting.

"This craftsmanship is truly unique!"

An elderly lady couldn't help but admire it.

"Yes, such delicate stitches can probably only be achieved by the best embroiderers in the market."

Another lady echoed this, examining the work carefully.

"Miss Wang, is this embroidery for sale?" asked the lady who spoke first, her eyes full of love.

Wang Susu blushed slightly, and replied a little embarrassedly: "If Madam likes it, of course it can be sold, but..."

She looked at Su Huaiyue beside her, who nodded slightly.

"The price is negotiable. What's more important is that the craftsmanship is truly impressive."

Mrs. Liu smiled gently and turned to her friends, saying, "Why don't you all reserve some as well? This is a rare masterpiece, don't miss it."

"Okay, I'll order three paintings and bring this beautiful scenery home to enjoy every day."

"I want three too."

Several ladies expressed their intention to buy, and the courtyard was suddenly filled with laughter.

Wang Susu had never seen such a thing before, and her momentary awkwardness was relieved. The uneasiness on her face gradually dissipated, and a confident smile appeared on her face.

Su Huaiyue and Wei Che looked at each other, both breathed a sigh of relief, and secretly felt happy for Wang Susu in their hearts.

They finally completed part of this task successfully.

The next day.

Su Huaiyue and Wei Che packed up briefly and thought about how to complete today's task.

Although the two were anxious, they still suppressed their anxiety.

"How's Wang Susu's embroidery progressing?"

Su Huaiyue asked while sorting her clothes.

"Susu didn't get much rest last night."

Wei Che answered softly, and it was obvious that he was also touched by Wang Susu's diligence.

"Susu is so happy that her embroidery can be sold for money."

As Su Huaiyue spoke, she looked through the window at Wang Susu who was embroidering carefully not far away.

After a night of discussion, they decided to temporarily keep Wang Susu in Liu's house so that she could concentrate on completing the embroidery.

Then, Su Huaiyue turned around to face Wei Che, her expression had changed.

"We need to start early to find seeds,"

She said, "Things in the village can't be delayed for too long."

Wei Che nodded, his expression showing a hint of uneasiness.

"I hope everything goes well today, otherwise I won't be able to report back."

Afterwards, they said goodbye to Wang Susu and walked out of Liu's house.

The two walked along the market and headed for the famous seed shops.

At first, they were full of hope for the seed market.

However, as time passed, Su Huaiyue couldn't help but feel anxious when they faced box after box of high-priced seeds.

“These prices are out of whack.”

She grumbled softly, placing the small bag in her hand back on the counter.

Wei Che comforted him, "Let's look for it again. Maybe there will be kind people willing to help."

However, things did not develop as expected.

Wherever they go, they are always scared away by the high prices, and some stores simply refuse to sell to ordinary people.

"It seems we have no choice but to return to Liu's residence," Wei Che said helplessly, "perhaps we have to find another way."

Su Huaiyue sighed lightly. Despite this, their pace did not stop at all. However, the journey back to Liu Mansion seemed a little heavy.

Su Huaiyue was in the courtyard, thinking with his head down, and a blooming lotus beside him was swaying gently in the morning light.

She vaguely heard brisk footsteps behind her. Turning around, she saw Mrs. Liu walking towards her with a smile, holding a basket of fresh fruit in her hand.

"Huaiyue, you look so worried, is there something on your mind?"

Mrs. Liu asked with concern, handing her the fruit.

Su Huaiyue picked up the fruit basket, but did not answer immediately. She just sighed softly and stroked the edge of the fruit basket, as if looking for words.

Madam Liu patted her shoulder gently, smiling broadly, her eyes full of encouragement, "Just tell me if you have anything to say."

Under Mrs. Liu's enthusiastic gaze, Su Huaiyue finally put aside her worries, slowly expressed her distress about the seeds, and recounted her experience of running into obstacles at the market with Wei Che.

After hearing this, Mrs. Liu smiled with a hint of pride on her face, "Don't worry about this matter. I have plenty of seeds at home."

Su Huaiyue couldn't believe her ears. She was so surprised that she was speechless for a moment and could only nod. Liu Fu continued confidently and gently, "These seeds are useless in the first place. We can't grow anything good in our Dongzhou area, so they are all piled up in the warehouse. How many do you need? Just tell me."

At this time, Mr. Liu also stepped into the courtyard. Seeing the two people's happy expressions, he laughed heartily.

"You're right, Madam. We have plenty of those seeds. It would be nice to give them to Miss Huaiyue and Master Wei."

Su Huaiyue was filled with gratitude and quickly said, "We only need a few. I really don't know how to thank you for your generosity."

"It's all a piece of cake."

Master Liu waved his hand, looking nonchalant. "Just take them with peace of mind. If they weren't planted in this uncultivated land, they wouldn't have been piled up in the warehouse for so many years."

At this moment, Wei Che walked over. After hearing this conversation, he seemed extremely surprised and thanked Madam Liu and Mr. Liu for their generous donation.
