Chapter 357 Another World

Su Huaiyue hurriedly took it and looked over it eagerly.

The above records in detail the location, area, rent and surrounding environment of different plots of land.

"Mrs. Lu, you have been very helpful. This information is so useful."

Su Huaiyue raised her head and said gratefully.

Lu Jin smiled slightly and said, "Don't thank me yet. We still have to go and see for ourselves whether the land above is suitable. If we find one we like, we'll have to negotiate the rent and other matters with the landowner, which is no easy matter."

Su Huaiyue nodded quickly and said, "Mrs. Lu is right. Let's go and take a look now. I can't wait."

So, the two of them set out together to look for land to rent. They first went to a plot of land east of Youzhou City.

The place is not too far from the market, and there are some houses and small shops around it.

Su Huaiyue walked around the plot of land, carefully observing the surrounding environment.

"Mrs. Lu, the location here is pretty good, and the flow of people is okay, but the land seems a little small. If we want to build a restaurant, I'm afraid it won't be big enough." Su Huaiyue said with a frown.

Lu Jin also took a look and nodded, "You're right, and the rent isn't cheap either, it's not cost-effective. Let's go to the next place and have a look."

Then they went to a piece of land in the south of the city.

This place is close to the river and the scenery is nice, but the transportation is not very convenient and the road is narrow. If a restaurant opens, it may not be convenient for customers to enter and exit.

Su Huaiyue and Lu Jin looked at each other and saw denial in each other's eyes.

In this way, they looked at several places to rent, but were not satisfied with any of them.

As the sun gradually set, Su Huaiyue couldn't help but reveal a trace of fatigue and disappointment on his face.

"Mrs. Lu, why is there no suitable place? Is it true that this restaurant cannot be opened?" Su Huaiyue said somewhat frustratedly.

Lu Jin patted Su Huaiyue's shoulder and comforted her, "Huaiyue, don't be discouraged. Finding land is a time-consuming and laborious task. It's not easy to find the right one. Let's go to the west of the city. I heard that there's a new area being developed there. Maybe there's an opportunity."

Su Huaiyue's eyes lit up with hope after hearing this. She nodded and followed Lu Jin towards the west of the city. Along the way, neither of them spoke, each hoping that the piece of land in the west of the city would be as they wished...

The two walked all the way to the west of Youzhou. The further west they went, the more desolate the surrounding scenery became.

The once bustling streets became deserted, with very few pedestrians, and the occasional passers-by looked hurried.

The number of shops decreased one by one, and finally only a few were left. The shop entrances were deserted, with almost no customers, and it seemed that business was very bleak.

The houses are no longer neatly arranged and well-repaired. The walls are full of traces of time, some have cracks, the roof tiles are incomplete, and some are even crumbling, as if a strong wind can blow them down.

Lu Jin narrowed his eyes slightly, carefully examining the increasingly deserted street before him. His once smooth forehead slowly wrinkled, as if twisted into a knot. The houses along the roadside were crumbling, their walls mottled with the marks of time. Some windows had no glass at all, only rags barely covering them.

There were few pedestrians on the street, and the few people who occasionally passed by were ragged and looked haggard.

Seeing this scene, Lu Jin felt uneasy, as if he had a premonition that the place ahead was not a good one, and he couldn't help but retreat.

She subconsciously reached out and grabbed Su Huaiyue's arm, exerting a little force, trying to make her stop.

With a worried look on his face, he advised sincerely, "Huaiyue, I think we shouldn't go any further. Look at this place, it's full of poor people with very little money. They can't even afford basic food and clothing. Even if they can find a good place to open a restaurant, they won't have the spare money to spend. They can't make any money at all. Let's find another place and stop wasting time here."

Su Huaiyue, however, looked curious, with a glimmer of inquiry in her bright eyes.

She tilted her head slightly, her eyes full of confusion, like a child full of curiosity about the unknown.

She bit her lip lightly and said, "Madam Lu, I've been in Youzhou for some time, and I've never heard of such a poor area. I want to go and take a look, maybe I can find some unique opportunities. Business opportunities in this world are often hidden in unnoticed places, and I don't want to miss it easily."

As she spoke, she gently broke free from Lu Jin's hand and continued to walk forward with firm steps. Her figure looked particularly upright in the afterglow of the setting sun.

Lu Jin sighed helplessly, with a hint of helplessness and worry in his eyes.

She shook her head and whispered to herself, "This child is so stubborn."

But she didn't want Su Huaiyue to take the risk alone, so she could only quicken her pace and follow behind.

After a while, they came to a river.

The river flows slowly, making a gurgling sound.

The river surface was covered with tiny ripples, sparkling in the sunlight. As soon as Su Huaiyue saw the scene on the other side of the river, she was stunned.

Her eyes were wide open, her mouth slightly open, and her face was full of shock and disbelief.

The other side of the river seemed like another world. The land was dry and cracked, showing hideous cracks, like the dry lips of the earth.

There was no grass on the ground, and the few dry blades of grass trembled in the wind.

The bark of the trees was stripped clean, revealing bare trunks, like tortured souls.

The houses were dilapidated, with cracks all over the walls and broken tiles on the roofs. Some had even collapsed completely, leaving only broken walls and ruins.

However, from time to time, people would come out of these houses that looked dilapidated and uninhabitable. They had sallow faces, thin bodies, and their clothes were tattered and patched.

They walked towards the river with dull eyes and staggering steps, carrying hoes on their backs. Every step seemed extremely heavy, as if they were carrying all the pressure of life.

Near the stream are patches of scattered fields, which stand out particularly in this barren and desolate land.

The soil in the fields did not look fertile, and was even a little hardened. But what was strange was that compared with these hungry people who were pale, thin and hunched, the vegetables in the fields were well grown, lush and green and full of vitality.

The fresh and tender leaves were still covered with morning dew, and in the sunlight, they looked like they were inlaid with crystal jade beads, revealing a tenacious vitality.

Su Huaiyue stood quietly by, his eyes fixed on the movements in the fields.
