The cave was gloomy and filled with a strange smell.
Shen Qingtang and Pei Nian'an were tied to a pillar, and several other missing children were tied around them. The children were trembling with fear and crying softly.
Not far away, several masked men were kneeling in front of an old Taoist priest with a white beard.
The old Taoist priest was wearing a tattered robe, holding a peach wood sword in his hand, and muttering incantations.
"Master, we've captured another child! And a woman too!" the masked leader said respectfully.
The white-bearded old Taoist opened his eyes and looked at Shen Qingtang with displeasure: "What are you doing capturing women? Useless things! What we need are young boys and girls to sacrifice in order to resurrect the king!"
