Shen Qingtang watched Jiang Yuwen's hasty departure, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.
She had long heard that the Jiang family was rich but heartless, and had done a lot of things to oppress the people. Now was the perfect opportunity to "teach them a lesson".
"Since the Jiang family likes to bully others by relying on their power, then I will help them 'empty' their assets and let them taste what it's like to have nothing."
Shen Qingtang muttered to herself, then quietly led Pei Nian'an to the vicinity of the Jiang family mansion.
Using the spatial concealment function, she easily evaded the Jiang family's guards and sneaked into the mansion.
As soon as I entered, I heard shouts of beatings and screams of servants coming from the backyard.
"Useless thing! You can't even do this little thing right, what use are you to me?" Madam Jiang was holding a feather duster and was whipping a maidservant across the face. The maidservant's face was covered in bruises, and she was crying her heart out.
Not far away, Master Jiang sat in a chair, leisurely drinking tea. Watching this scene, he not only did not stop it, but also scolded, "Good job! These servants need to be taught a lesson. They won't learn their lesson if they aren't beaten!"
Shen Qingtang sneered and directly opened her spatial storage, taking all the gold, silver, jewelry, silks, and precious paintings and calligraphy in the Jiang family mansion, as well as the grain in the kitchen and the medicinal herbs in the storeroom, into her space.
Soon, the once magnificent Jiang family mansion became empty, leaving only some dilapidated furniture and empty rooms.
Mr. and Mrs. Jiang were dumbfounded.
They couldn't believe their eyes, repeatedly muttering, "My treasures! My money! Where has it all gone?!"
Shen Qingtang ignored them and quietly left the Jiang family mansion with Pei Nian'an.
Meanwhile, Jiang Yuwen was hiding in the shadows, plotting how to take revenge on Shen Qingtang.
She had just contacted a few thugs to raid Shen Qingtang's restaurant that night when a servant rushed in frantically to report, "Something terrible has happened! The house has been emptied! Nothing's left!"
"What?!" Jiang Yuwen was shocked. Forgetting about revenge against Shen Qingtang, she rushed home immediately.
When he saw the empty mansion and his wailing parents, he was so angry that he trembled and almost fainted. She couldn't understand how their once happy home could suddenly become like this.
"Who? Who did this?!"
Jiang Yuwen screamed hysterically, but no one could answer her.
Desperate, Jiang Yuwen thought of her devoted admirer, Lu Zi'ang, the young master of the Lu family. The Lu family was a well-known wealthy family in the county, and Lu Zi'ang had always tried to please Jiang Yuwen, granting her almost every request.
Jiang Yuwen immediately found Lü Ziang.
He tearfully recounted his ordeal, hoping that Lü Zi'ang could help him.
Lu Zi'ang was indeed a complete simp, as soon as he saw Jiang Yuwen's sad face.
He immediately felt a pang of heartache and patted his chest, assuring her, "Don't worry! Your problems are my problems! I'll prepare money and accommodation for you right away. As long as I have food to eat, I'll never let you go hungry!"
He even took out a lot of silver and handed it to Jiang Yuwen on the spot, afraid that Jiang Yuwen would be wronged.
But they never expected that Shen Qingtang had seen all of this.
Shen Qingtang looked at Lü Ziang's ingratiating face.
He sneered inwardly, "Since you like helping Jiang Yuwen so much, I might as well 'empty' your house too."
That evening, Shen Qingtang sneaked into the Lü family mansion again. The Lü family was even wealthier than the Jiang family.
The mansion was filled with countless gold and silver treasures. Shen Qingtang made no attempt to be polite and took all of the Lü family's money, grain, medicine, and even Lü Ziang's favorite fine horses into her own space.
The next morning, when Lü Zi'ang woke up, he was dumbfounded to see his empty mansion.
Like Jiang Yuwen, he was so angry he almost vomited blood, but he didn't even know who did it.
Shen Qingtang was sitting in her restaurant, leisurely drinking tea and looking at the mountain of supplies piled up in the space, her face completely calm.
For her, emptying these two wealthy and heartless families was just a piece of cake. It would punish the wicked and fill her own space, so why not?
Next, she needs to focus her efforts on finding the missing children and uncovering Liang Wanwan and Jiang Yuwen's conspiracy.
When Shen Qingtang led Pei Nian'an into the space, the setting sun was turning the orchard inside into a warm gold.
Ripe cherries hang from the branches, each one so plump it seems to drip with juice. Grapevines climb all over the wooden trellis, and bunches of glistening purple grapes hang down like jewels.
"Nian'an, look at the strawberries here, they're so much bigger than the ones outside!" Shen Qingtang held Pei Nian'an's little hand and led her into the strawberry field. Amidst the lush green leaves...
Hidden within are bright red strawberries, glistening with dewdrops.
Pei Nian'an's eyes lit up. He carefully picked one, put it in his mouth, and the sweet taste instantly spread on his tongue, making him squint his eyes.
"Auntie, these strawberries are so delicious! They're even sweeter than the chocolate mousse from last time!" Pei Nian'an said excitedly, then bent down to pick one and held it to Shen Qingtang's lips. "Auntie, have some too."
Shen Qingtang smiled and opened her mouth. The sweetness of the strawberries mixed with the warmth of the child's palm warmed her heart.
The two picked a full basket of fruit in the orchard and then went to the small kitchen in the space.
Shen Qingtang took out flour, butter, and sugar from the storage compartment and made Pei Nian'an's favorite strawberry cake, and also boiled a pot of sweet milk.
Pei Nian'an sat at the small table, watching Shen Qingtang's busy figure, her little face full of happiness.
Once the cake was ready, he took a small fork and ate it in small bites, his lips smeared with cream, like a little kitten stealing a bite.
Upon seeing this, Shen Qingtang took out a handkerchief and gently wiped him clean, then poured him a glass of milk: "Eat slowly, don't choke."
The two stayed in the space for a long time, until it was almost dark outside, before Shen Qingtang brought Pei Nian'an out of the space.
As soon as they reached the entrance of the restaurant, they saw Pei Wuwang pacing anxiously back and forth, his brows furrowed and his eyes filled with worry.
"Where's Nian'an?" Pei Wuwang greeted Shen Qingtang immediately, asking anxiously, "I've been looking for you for so long, but I haven't seen you anywhere."
Seeing his nervous expression, Shen Qingtang couldn't help but smile and stepped aside to let Pei Nian'an behind her out: "Don't worry, I took him out to play. Look, he ate a lot of delicious food."
Pei Nian'an ran forward, hugged Pei Wuwang's leg, looked up at him excitedly, and said, "Auntie took me to a really beautiful place. There were lots and lots of fruits there, and a super delicious strawberry cake!"
Pei Wuwang squatted down, patted Pei Nian'an's head, and then looked at Shen Qingtang. The worry in his eyes gradually faded, leaving only gentleness: "Tell me where you're going next time, so I won't worry."
"I know." Shen Qingtang nodded with a smile, a warm feeling rising in her heart. She knew that Pei Wuwang genuinely cared about her and Pei Nian'an.
With him by my side, it's like having a solid support system.
The three walked into the restaurant side by side. The waiter had already prepared dinner, a table full of steaming dishes.
It emitted an enticing aroma. Pei Nian'an sat between the two, eating the food.
