"Pei Nian'an! You little bastard! How dare you hurt my golden egg!"
Xiao Qin rushed over to hit Pei Nian'an, but Pei Wuwang stopped her.
She was so angry that she jumped up and down, pointing at Pei Nian'an and cursing, "You're a bastard, so heartless, you'll get your comeuppance sooner or later! If anything happens to our Golden Egg, I'll never forgive you!"
Uncle Pei roared from the side, "Shen Qingtang! Control your bastard child! How could you be so cruel to your younger brother? Your Shen family has no manners!"
Pei Nian'an's eyes turned cold the moment he heard the insults "bastard" and "illegitimate child".
She broke free from Shen Qingtang's grasp and walked up to Uncle Pei and Madam Qin. Despite her small size, she exuded a powerful aura: "You are not allowed to insult my mother, nor are you allowed to insult me! It was Pei Jindan who first tried to kill me and Jenny with a knife. I was only defending myself!"
As he spoke, he picked up the knife from the ground and handed it to the crowd: "Look, this is his knife. He wanted to kill us!"
When Karen and the others saw the rusty knife, they were reminded of Pei Jindan's ferocious appearance earlier.
He immediately lost all goodwill towards Uncle Pei and his wife.
Jenny, who was being protected behind Pei Nian'an, stepped forward, tugged at Pei Nian'an's sleeve, and whispered in her not-so-fluent Central Plains dialect, "Nian'an... isn't fierce, Nian'an... is amazing! Protect me, okay!"
She looked up.

She lowered her head shyly, but couldn't help but smile.
The grievances and unease I felt earlier vanished instantly with that one word, "I like it."
Shen Qingtang felt both warm and pained as she looked at the scene before her, and stepped forward to hug Pei Nian'an.
With icy eyes, she looked at Uncle Pei and Madam Qin: "Your grandson committed a crime with a knife. Nian'an was only acting in self-defense. If you dare to utter any more foul language, don't blame me for being impolite!"
Pei Wuwang stepped forward, his aura suddenly dropping: "Get lost! If you dare to come even half a step closer to Nian'an, I'll cripple you!"
Uncle Pei and Madam Qin looked at the imposing manner of the two men and then at the disdainful looks of the people around them.
All I could do was glare at him resentfully.
He hurriedly picked up Pei Jindan from the ground and slunk away. The wicked grandson, on the verge of death, used a cunning scheme to lure the enemy into a trap set by a poisonous woman.
When Pei Jindan was carried back to the Pei family, he had already fainted from the pain, and the wound on his knee was bleeding profusely.
His face was as pale as a sheet of paper.
When Madam Pei saw her beloved great-grandson in this state, her eyes immediately welled up with tears, and she leaned on her cane.
He led a large group of Pei family members to the gate of Shen Qingtang's manor, insisting that Pei Wuwang come forward to save her.
"You come out here!" Old Madam Pei roared at the manor gate, her voice filled with grief and indignation. "Jin Dan is your own nephew, and now he's dying! How can you just stand by and watch him die! If you have any conscience at all, come out and save him!"
Hearing the commotion, Pei Wuwang led his men out, his eyes as cold as ice as he looked at the Pei family members throwing a tantrum at the door. "Save him?"
He scoffed, his tone full of mockery, "He tried to kill my son Nian'an with a knife, and now he's reaping what he sowed. Why should I save him?"
"You!" Old Madam Pei was speechless, then began her moral blackmail, "That's a human life! Even if he was wrong, he didn't deserve to die! If you don't save him, you're heartless and cold-blooded, and you'll be struck by lightning! How could our Pei family have produced such a vicious child like you!"
“Vicious?” Pei Wuwang’s eyes suddenly sharpened as he approached Old Madam Pei step by step.
