Chapter 144 Let him mine (1/2)

Shen Qingtang's eyes darkened.

Men in black? Men in black again.

She didn't stop immediately, but instead raised her voice: "Besides these, what else? Did he say anything else? What does he look like?"

Lu Zi'ang trembled all over in pain, tears and snot mingling together.

All trace of her previous madness had vanished, replaced only by utter terror: "It's all gone! It's really all gone! He always wore a cloak, so I couldn't see his face, and his voice was hoarse... I really don't know anything anymore! Please... please let me go! I'll never do it again!"

The Su family members standing nearby were already pale with fright and collapsed to the ground.

They originally wanted to wait and see Shen Qingtang make a fool of herself, and even planned how to curry favor with the Shen family after the wedding.

But looking at Lü Ziang's painful groans on the ground, and then at Shen Qingtang's expressionless face, he felt a chill run from the soles of his feet straight to the top of his head.

"This...this is too cruel..." Su Lingwei's cousin stammered, his voice filled with fear, "She...she's a vicious woman..."

As soon as he finished speaking, Shen Qingtang's cold gaze swept over him, her eyes as if they were filled with ice.

He was so frightened that he immediately covered his mouth and dared not say another word.

The members of the Su family all lowered their heads, not daring to meet Shen Qingtang's gaze, fearing that they would be the next to suffer such pain.

They were initially somewhat resentful of Su Lingwei's marriage, but now they were filled with deep fear and just wanted to escape this terrible place as soon as possible.

Shen Qingtang ignored the reactions of the Su family members and looked at Lü Ziang, who was on the ground and about to faint from the pain. A cold glint flashed in her eyes.

She gestured to the spirit servant behind her: "Take him away and continue the interrogation. No matter what method you use, you must find clues about the man in black."

The servant stepped forward and dragged Lü Zi'ang, who was as limp as mud, away.

As the chaos at the wedding gradually subsided, Shen Mingzhao and Su Lingwei's wedding resumed.

The festive music started playing again, but after this shocking turn of events, the guests looked at Shen Qingtang with a newfound sense of awe and apprehension.

Shen Qingtang stood there, gazing in the direction the spirit servant had left, her eyes deep and thoughtful. The conspiracy against her was finally about to surface.

Despite the assassination attempt that occurred midway through the wedding, Shen Mingzhao and Su Lingwei's wedding still ended successfully.

After Shen Qingtang finished dealing with Lü Ziang's matter, she turned around and returned to the wedding banquet. The guests' panic had already been suppressed by her aura.

Upon her return, they all stood up to congratulate her, their eyes filled with a sense of awe.

The Su family huddled in a corner, not daring to breathe. Su Lingwei's younger sister, Su Lingyu, was deathly pale from the scene, yet she couldn't suppress her resentment, hiding behind her cousin and muttering curses under her breath: "She's a vicious woman...so terrifying..."

As soon as he finished speaking, Shen Qingtang's gaze swept over him precisely.

Su Lingyu trembled in fright and immediately shut her mouth, only to see Shen Qingtang curl the corners of her lips into a smile.

Her voice was neither too loud nor too soft, just loud enough for those around her to hear: "A poisonous woman? Perhaps."

Her gaze swept over the Su family members, carrying a hint of coldness. "But this 'poison' of mine only works on evil people. If you behave yourselves, you naturally have nothing to fear from me. But if you dare to provoke me with wicked intentions like Pei Yurou, her fate will serve as a warning to you."

Su Lingyu was so frightened by her words that tears almost fell from her eyes, and she gripped her cousin's sleeve tightly.

They dared not say another word. The members of the Su family lowered their heads even further, barely breathing.

They just hoped the wedding would end quickly so they could escape this place that terrified them.

Shen Qingtang ignored them and turned to walk to the main seat, smiling as she looked at the newlyweds who were about to perform the wedding ceremony.

As the auspicious hour arrived, ceremonial music began. Shen Mingzhao, dressed in a bright red wedding gown, led Su Lingwei, whose head was covered by a red veil, step by step into the wedding hall. They bowed to heaven and earth, to their parents, and to each other.

Every moment was filled with joy. Pei Nian'an, wearing a little red jacket, skipped and hopped forward.

Following tradition, he helped the newlyweds "roll in bed." He rolled around on the wedding bed twice while holding a pillow, and then shouted in a childish voice, "May my second uncle and second aunt have a son soon and grow old together," which made all the guests in the room burst into laughter.

Jenny, dressed in a pink tulle dress and holding a bouquet of flowers, joined Pei Nian'an as a flower girl. The two children, one with black hair and black eyes, and the other with blonde hair and blue eyes, stood out strikingly together.

Pei Nian'an would occasionally hand Jenny wedding candy, and the two would communicate with each other through eye contact and gestures.

They look innocent and cute.
