Xiao Nian'an panicked and immediately ran to find Shen Qingtang, tugging at her clothes and whispering, "Auntie, Uncle Pei and Lu Jiaojiao are whispering bad things, they want to harm you!"
Shen Qingtang patted Pei Nian'an's head, a cold glint flashing in her eyes: "I know, Auntie will be careful."
Not long after, Pei Mingxuan came over carrying two bowls of water.
With a fawning smile, he handed a bowl to Shen Qingtang: "Shen Qingtang, I was wrong before. This bowl of water is for you. Thank you for saving everyone. You're really amazing."
He deliberately softened his tone when he spoke, but his eyes held a calculating look. He even brought another bowl of water to his lips, pretending to drink it, but actually trying to make Shen Qingtang lower her guard.
Shen Qingtang watched him act, inwardly sneering, but outwardly feigning composure as she accepted the bowl of water.
The moment Pei Mingxuan turned around, she immediately used her mental power to control him.
They secretly replaced the water in the bowl with ordinary spring water.
She had already noticed something was mixed in the water, so why would she actually drink it?
