Chapter 202: The Stabilizing Force of Hantian City
"Find a place to hide outside the city! Don't go into the city." Han Lang reminded.
"Guess why they didn't take action in Hantian City?" Feng Aoqing was not afraid.
"Tsk, you just have to go against me, or I'll go back to Tianyao!"
"Your injury is not healed, so you are not allowed to go anywhere! Get some sleep and wait for Yue Jiu to come." Feng Aoqing advised.
"I can sleep on my own, don't give me any medicine!"
"Got it. I'll give you some non-numbing painkillers."
Feng Aoqing adjusted the infusion medicine and then fell asleep beside him.
He fell asleep as soon as he lay down on the bed, and slept even more soundly than Han Lang.
When he turned his head, he could see Feng Aoqing's face flushed slightly because of the warmth and happiness. The two of them held hands tightly, and their palms were slightly sweaty.
For a moment, he was grateful for the pain in his body because it let him know that he was not dreaming.
Yesterday, he felt that he was about to die. At that moment, he actually heard Feng Aoqing's voice. She was shouting his name in a harsh voice. He knew that he could not die.
If I die, who will care about this pretentious woman like me?
Yue Jiu quickly brought people and a carriage.
The carriage could only go to the foot of Zishiling, so he brought people to the cave.
The only people he brought were the four people Feng Aoqing had saved, and no more.
It was enough for four of them to carry one person down the mountain, one to guard him, and one to protect Feng Aoqing.
An Lei saw Yue Jiu coming up the hill and called out from outside, "Sister, Yue Jiu is back."
No one answered.
He panicked and rushed in.
Before he saw Feng Aoqing, he was greeted by Han Lang's cold gaze.
Only then did he realize that Feng Aoqing was sleeping on the inside.
Only when Han Lang moved did Feng Aoqing wake up and poke her head out from under the quilt.
When Yue Jiu arrived at the cave entrance, he saw An Lei already inside. He thought they could go in, so he led everyone inside.
Everyone saw Feng Aoqing and a man covered in the same quilt.
"Uh...um...let's go outside and prepare the rope!" Yue Jiu retreated.
Feng Aoqing stood up, took out a widened stretcher and widened straps, and then let them in again.
Yue Jiu and An Lei started to lift the man onto the stretcher.
"I can do it myself. When do I need someone to carry me?" Han Lang shouted and was about to stand up by himself.
"You want to die, don't you?! When you fainted there yesterday, weren't you carried by someone? Do you think they wanted to carry you? I'm telling you! Don't be stubborn. Do you think I don't have medicine?! Stone, come on! He can't beat you now!"
After Feng Aoqing's attack, everyone in the cave, except Yue Jiu, moved to the side.
They had never seen the lady scolding others like this.
When An Lei heard this, he realized it was his own business again! He couldn't win now, but his master was stingy! He made a note in his heart that he would definitely make up for it one day.
He didn't come forward.
Yue Jiu stepped forward and said to Han Lang, "Please consider that your wife was busy for several hours last night. Just lie down. The wound has opened up, and she will have to sew it all over again. It will be very painful. She cried while sewing last night."
An Lei looked at Yue Jiu and gave him a thumbs up in his heart.
Han Lang looked at Feng Aoqing and nodded.
An Lei then stepped forward and together with Yue Jiu, they lifted Han Lang onto the stretcher.
Feng Aoqing directed the two men to find a place on him where he was not injured and tie him up, then secured him on the stretcher.
"Lei, look up, don't just look at your feet." Han Lang instructed as he walked.
He was afraid that An Lei had become so accustomed to following Feng Aoqing that he had forgotten the common sense of being a secret guard.
"I understand, master." An Lei replied.
Han Lang didn't know that An Lei was often not with Feng Aoqing.
Yue Jiu was also capable. He drove a car with a couch, which had a thick blanket already laid on it.
When we returned to the city gate, the guard came forward and saluted, with no intention of checking at all, and let the car pass through the gate directly.
"Madam, you're back from outside the mountain so early in the morning!"
"Yes! How are you guys? Are you cold after working the night shift?"
Feng Aoqing asked An Lei to stop the car and got out to talk to the soldiers who greeted her.
“It’s okay, it’s okay!”
"It's cold, Shitou. Send someone to bring some charcoal soon. Don't keep burning wood. Also, the barracks need some repairs. They're drafty, and we can't heat the walls here. Otherwise, we should wait until after the New Year and build a brick house. A wooden house won't do."
She looked at the soldier and knew that he was cold.
"Oh! Thank you, madam, for still caring about us!" The soldier was about to kneel.
"Your chief of guards is such a stingy person, I don't even know him."
"Haha, no no no, it's okay!" The soldier winked at her.
Then the guard captain Qin Zheng stuck his head out of the barracks.
"Madam! You are scolding me again! I heard it all! We soldiers should suffer some hardships. Look at them, they are getting fattened up by you!" Qin Zheng expressed his dissatisfaction.
"He's my brother, how can I let him starve? A guard with good eyesight is enough. Take Xiaoliu, for example. He can tell from a mile away that there's no cargo in the truck. Does his weight affect his eyesight?"
Xiaoliu's name was called. The chubby boy didn't know whether he should be happy or angry.
"Madam, are you selling mountain products?"
"Well, I found some good leather to make a coat for the old man. I had to pick it out myself, and I also bought a wild boar."
"Yes, yes, I'll keep an eye on it for you! If anyone comes in to sell leather, I'll scan it for you, and if they're good, I'll have them send the good ones to you in the pavilion."
"Okay! Then I'll go back." Feng Aoqing turned around and got into the car.
"Please go slower. The snow on the street was just shoveled this morning, so there might still be ice." The soldier hurriedly made way.
The group watched her leave.
An Lei was driving the car in front, trying hard to hold back his laughter.
wild boar.
"Why stop? They won't check your car anyway." Han Lang asked.
"As long as there aren't too many people around, I'll get off the car and talk to them. What would they think if I rushed out yesterday and rushed back today? This is a small place. I'm afraid that this matter will spread throughout the entire Hantian City before I even get home."
Feng Aoqing is the mainstay of Hantian City.
If she is unstable, Lanfeng Pavilion is unstable, and the people's hearts are unstable, many things will not be done well.
When the car reached the city, Feng Aoqing was not in a hurry.
I bought my first pot of beef patties, freshly fried dough sticks and sesame balls, freshly steamed plum cakes, and a whole vat of tofu pudding that had just come out of the boiler at Tofu Xishi.
The car returned to the Feng family mansion. The maid Ling'er, who came to greet them anxiously at the door, almost cried when she saw that Feng Aoqing, who had not returned all night, was fine.
This girl was driven out of the house by her stepmother at night and was almost frozen to death when Feng Aoqing picked her up. Feng Aoqing held her in her arms all night to keep her warm, and then she stayed in the mansion and never left.
She often said that if it weren't for the lady, even if she didn't die, she would never have the hands to comb the lady's hair.
"Ling'er, go get Xingbao and Yuebao for breakfast. I bought some fried dough sticks that Third Grandma doesn't let them eat."
"Okay." Ling'er hurried to the other side of the street.
