Chapter 56 The Paradise Deal crawled into her tiny wound.
The familiar metal name tag hung on her chest, its smooth surface undulating with her movements, reflecting light onto Liang Jun's face.
She raised her hand to shield her eyes.
Liang Jun took a few steps forward, and was separated from the red-clad staff member by only a wall of the mushroom-shaped building.
The interior space was small, barely enough for her to fit alone. A stack of brand-new tickets lay before the staff member in red; otherwise, the table was spotless, with nothing else on it.
"Hello, do you need to buy a ticket?"
The procedural questioning rang out again, and the red-clad staff member remained enthusiastic, her dark eyes fixed intently on Liang Jun, who was closest to her.
That look was truly terrifying, but Liang Jun looked back at her directly.
"Yes."
She casually placed her hand on the mushroom-shaped countertop as if it were a habit, but her eyes were actually scanning the interior space.
Aside from a glimpse of a trash can peeking out from behind the red-clad staff member, there were no other items in the cramped space. The trash can was completely obscured by her, so Liang Jun couldn't see what was inside the heavy black trash bag.
The staff member in red pulled the stack of tickets closer, his smile widening.
"We sell single tickets for bumper cars here. How many tickets would you like?"
Liang Jun glanced back and saw Qi Zhixia, who was sitting in a wheelchair, make a gesture towards her.
“Six,” Liang Jun turned around, “Thank you.”
However, after reporting the exact number, the staff in red did not take any further action.
The curves of her lips were almost identical, creating a perfectly symmetrical face that faced the crowd directly.
"How do I make the payment?"
She lowered her upper body slightly and pulled a box of blue-green inkpads from under the table with her right hand. A worn-out stamp was placed upside down on top of the inkpads, sticky and messy, still holding the silk threads.
"Payment?"
Luo Chuange also squeezed to the window and scanned the area. "What do we use to pay? And how much are the tickets?"
The staff member in red maintained a high level of service, explaining, "A single ticket for one bumper car ride costs 50 points, and six tickets would cost a total of 300 points."
Her dark eyes darted around in their sockets. "You can choose to pay separately for each person, or you can choose to pay for everything by one person."
She didn't know when it started, but she had been holding that sticky stamp in her hand.
She held the handle of the seal and gently pressed it against the slightly dried inkpad.
Getting 50 points for a bumper car ride isn't too expensive.
For them, who average five or six hundred thousand points, this is nothing at all.
Old Ren, who hadn't spoken for a while, scratched his head and said, "How about we each pay our own money?"
Even though the points required are minimal, this directly eliminates any potential future disputes.
As the old saying goes, even close brothers need to keep clear accounts, let alone them, who are just teammates who came together because of the game.
Just as Liang Jun was about to reply to the staff member in red, Wang Jianping, who was standing behind Qi Zhixia, suddenly spoke up: "I'll pay for two people, me and Qi Zhixia."
Upon hearing this, Qi Zhixia's usually expressionless face began to move slightly.
She raised an eyebrow, but didn't turn around.
"Why? It's not like I don't have any points."
"This is our rule."
Wang Jianping didn't offer any further reasons, simply using this universal excuse to brush it off.
Qi Zhixia curled her lips, but did not pursue the matter further.
After the emergency was resolved, Liang Jun replied to the staff member in red, "The gentleman behind me paid for the two people's points, and the rest were paid separately."
"OK."
As if they had just completed a major order, the red-clad staff member's tone became much lighter.
She seemed to be humming a very soft tune. Liang Jun couldn't make out what nursery rhyme she was singing, but she could vaguely sense a change in tone from her words.
“Sir,” her dark eyes looked past Liang Jun and landed on Wang Jianping, “please come forward and extend your hand.”
Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Wang Jianping pushed his wheelchair to the window and stretched out his right hand.
He had already rolled up his sleeves beforehand. Only when he handed it over did he regret it and want to pull his hand back and put the sleeves down.
But the staff member in red quickly pressed down on his forearm, which was about to twitch, and then stamped two blue-green seals on the inside of his forearm.
"Payment successful."
The staff member in red looked at Wang Jianping with a smile, and then quickly tore open two brand-new tickets with her other hand, handing them to him.
The staff member in red maintained his smile even after Wang Jianping accepted the ticket.
"Please continue making payments."
So it turns out that getting a stamp is a way to deduct points.
Liang Xun silently glanced at Wang Jianping, who nodded in response.
I don't feel any discomfort in my body.
Seeing this, Liang Jun followed closely behind him and also offered her right hand.
She was more cautious and lowered her sleeves, which she had rolled up, to cover her wrists. But the other person didn't insist on fully exposing their forearm and simply stamped her hand.
The others observed everything in silence. After seeing that Liang Jun had obtained the one-way ticket unharmed, they followed suit and tried to get the red-clad staff to mark only the back of their hands.
After receiving her ticket, Liang Jun moved aside.
The ticket in her hand felt rather stiff, and the edges weren't cut very neatly. When Liang Jun first received it, she was so quick that she cut her index finger on the ticket.
She frowned and, using the amusement park lights, held the ticket high in the air.
The tickets are made of ordinary cardboard, but the paper is so thick that even when held up to the light, the contents on the back are not visible.
The front of the ticket features the three large, gold-stamped characters for "bumper cars" in a fancy calligraphic style, while the bottom panel displays a picture of a flashy bumper car.
In contrast, the reverse side is much simpler. A string of numbers is located in the upper left corner of the ticket, and apart from the amusement park's watermark logo, there is only a very faint red line that goes around the edge of the ticket.
Just as Liang Jun was about to continue her research, Lao Ren's voice suddenly came from behind her.
"Now that we have the tickets, can we go straight to the bumper cars?"
He seemed somewhat excited, as if this wasn't some kind of facility that could kill anyone, but rather a place for players to relax and have fun.
Seeing that everyone had a ticket, Liang Jun nodded and then walked towards the main entrance of the bumper cars.
The staff in red behind me continued to provide excellent service, saying, "Welcome to visit us again!"
Not long after they left, the group returned to the spot where they had stood before.
The staff member in green remained standing in the same spot. Upon seeing them return, a hint of joy appeared in his eyes.
Before the other person could speak, Liang Jun leaned in first.
"Hello, this is my ticket."
She handed over the one-way ticket, completely unaware that drops of blood from her fingers had stained the ticket's fibers, creating a small patch of dark red.
"OK."
The staff member in green smiled and nodded, then reached out to take the ticket from Liang Jun's hand.
But the moment his eyes fell on the one-way ticket, his expression changed completely.
His usual calm and relaxed smile vanished, his facial muscles became disorganized, and his mouth gaped open in shock.
Liang Jun was able to detect fear and panic in his bottomless black eyes.
It was as if what landed in his hands was not an ordinary ticket, but rather a bomb with a fuse about to burn out.
The staff member in green suddenly released his hands and then staggered back a few steps.
"No, no, no..."
His words, which had been uttered, became increasingly unclear. Liang Jun squinted, trying to make out as much as possible what he was mumbling about.
But the staff in green seemed to have seen a ghost, wanting to get as far away from Liang Yan as possible.
She then lowered her head to check the condition of her ticket. The dark red stain that had stopped spreading was reflected in her eyes, and Liang Xun turned to examine the tiny wound.
Could it be because there was blood on the ticket?
Wang Jianping, who had been following behind, naturally noticed the unusual situation. He pushed the wheelchair forward and stood side by side with Liang Jun.
He handed over both tickets together, saying, "These are tickets for both of us."
As if the mere mention of "tickets" compels one to follow the gaze, no matter how frightened the green-clad staff member was, he quickly locked his eyes onto Wang Jianping's hands.
His face turned deathly pale, but when he glanced at the two blue-green stamps on the other person's arm, the green-clad staff member turned completely ashen.
He seemed to have encountered some ferocious demon. The staff member in green screamed loudly, then covered his head tightly with both hands and stubbornly fled from the crowd.
He ran in a panic, more like he was fleeing. Gu Keke didn't have time to dodge and was almost knocked to the ground by him. Fortunately, Luo Chuange, who was next to her, caught her and prevented her from having close contact with the yellow earth.
Why are you running?!
Gu Keke shouted at the green figure, but no matter how much they called out, the green-clad staff member refused to look at them again and disappeared into the yellow earth in the distance.
Seeing this absurd drama unfold before her, Gu Keke burst out laughing in anger.
"Is he crazy?" she said, one hand on her hip. "Why is he running away? We gave him a ticket, he's acting like he's seen the Grim Reaper..."
Liang Jun didn't speak, but instead lowered her eyes and stared at the ticket in her hand.
A chilling sensation began to spread from her fingertips.
Liang Xun was certain that this was not her imagination. Because that chill was creeping along her fingertips, into her tiny wounds, as if freezing all the blood in her body.
Liang Jun thought of the cold metal table in the dissection room.
A rusty smell blew towards her on the wind, and everyone looked up warily. At the source of the smell, they saw a staff member in a yellow uniform.
Without saying a word, Gu Keke went up and stopped him.
"Wait a minute, do you know why the staff here are running away?"
The staff member in the yellow shirt smiled without saying a word, only glancing down at the hand tugging at his sleeve.
On the back of his hand, the blue-green stamp glowed.
He spoke slowly, but the tone that came out was eerily robotic—
Please do not purchase tickets offered by staff members in red.
