Chapter 40

Chapter 40

Hearing her voice, Lu Zhaozhao's eyes lit up instantly, and he ran towards her happy face: "Xiaohua."

"Let's go." Xiaohua held her hand and left together.

Lu Anyu immediately raised his legs to follow, fearing that he would lose them if they walked too fast.

"Isn't he a little too worried? Zhao Zhao is already so old, there's no need to watch over her like that." Gu Anan was a little puzzled.

"I think so too." Mo Yuxuan nodded aside.

"Are you going to the Torch Festival? I know where it is. I'll take you there." Xiaohua chatted with Lu Zhaozhao for a while, then turned to look at everyone with enthusiasm.

Everyone followed her and after just a few steps they heard a bustling sound. A step further they saw people gathered around that person, forming a circle with burning torches in the middle.

Xiaohua turned around and began to introduce: "This is the location of the Torch Festival. You can listen to opera there. If you want to listen and eat, you can go there." She introduced in great detail and solved problems for everyone.

She looked at Lu Zhaozhao again: "Zhaozhao, where do you want to go? I'll go with you."

"I want to listen to opera." She stood there blinking.

"Okay, let's go over there." Xiaohua raised her hand and held her arm, leading her to the side, while Lu Anyu followed behind.

Xiaohua turned her head to look at him: "Brother Zhaozhao, the two of us can go, no need to follow. Don't worry, everything will be fine."

Lu Anyu was a little worried: "It's okay, I'll just follow you."

"Well, okay." Seeing that he insisted on doing so, Xiaohua didn't say anything and walked forward with Zhaozhao.

The others walked towards the torches. As soon as Lin Ruo walked over, she saw Meng Mian, who was sitting on a bench not far away with his eyes narrowed. She was slightly startled, then looked away. It was better not to go over and annoy him now.

"Let's go and take a look." Qin Yu appeared beside her, turned his head and left these words before walking towards him. After sitting next to him, he waved at her.

Lin Ruo knew that he was calling her. She looked around and saw that everyone was busy with their own things. The camera didn't capture her, so she quickly walked towards Qin Yu.

As soon as he walked up to her, he heard Qin Yu say, "Meng Mian, no matter what, she is still her parents' biological daughter."

Even though he said this, Meng Mian ignored him and continued to squint his eyes and tap his hands to prove that he was not asleep.

"Meng Mian, what do you mean?" Qin Yu was angered by his appearance and stood up and roared. His voice was so loud that it attracted the attention of the people around him.

Lin Ruo was afraid of being photographed, so she immediately grabbed his arm. Unfortunately, how could the program crew miss this explosive moment, so they quickly directed the camera to shoot over.

What happened? Why is Qin Yu so angry?

[I don't know, but could it be that Meng Mian next to him is because of him?]

[You mean she just stood up because of Meng Mian who was sitting there?]

[I think so. Look at him, and Lin Ruo is holding him back, afraid he'll go over.]

[It was clear that the production crew had no idea what was going on, and they rushed to film after hearing the noise.]

[Speak up, speak up! I want to know what happened. I'm super curious.]

[Add one, add one. I'm curious about what happened too. Why are you silent? Come on, tell me!]

[It seems like he's about to speak.]

Seeing that the other party still ignored him, Qin Yu was very angry and wanted to continue speaking, but was stopped by Lin Ruo next to him. She raised her head and gestured to the camera not far away. The child was smart enough to shut up in time.

At this moment, Meng Mian stood up from the chair, and when he walked in front of him, he paused slightly, and his cold eyes swept over Lin Ruo.

What does this mean? However, the system sound did not come over, so I breathed a sigh of relief. I can't lower it any further.

"Ruoruo, come here quickly." Zhou Yuewan came over at some point, grabbed her arm and ran to the side.

Lin Ruo was completely bewildered but was still dragged away by her, with Qin Yu following behind.

When she went over, she found that the program staff were in a hurry, as if something important happened. The cameraman following behind her understood and quickly closed the live broadcast interface.

"Ruoruo, Zhaozhao is missing. Let's go look for him." After she said this, she walked forward quickly.

"Okay." Lin Ruo was stunned for a few seconds and then immediately raised his leg to follow.

Lu Zhaozhao? Where could she go? Lu Anyu should be following her. Without time to think too much, she and Qin Yu went to look for her. After taking two steps, she saw Lu Anyu who was anxiously looking for her. The first thing he asked when he saw them was, "Ms. Lin, have you seen Zhaozhao?"

Lin Ruo shook his head, the other party sighed, and immediately went to look for it.

"Let's go and take a look." Lin Ruo led Qin Yu forward to search.

There was no direction, and she might not find it if she searched rashly. How about...she try to calculate it? Just as she was thinking, Qin Yu's voice came from the side: "How about, try to calculate it?"

"Okay, I thought so too." She pulled out her phone and drew a few cards: the Sun reversed, the Queen of Swords upright, and the Hermit reversed. The combination of these three tarot cards offered a key clue. The reversed Sun represented a lack of light and direction, and a preference for sheltered, private spaces.

The Queen of Swords in upright position represents a law firm, school office, library, etc. The Hermit in reversed position can be seen as a late-night bookstore, internet cafe box, abandoned school, unfinished construction site, or warehouse full of debris.

Combining these, it can be seen that it is still possible to find it within the range of 3-5 kilometers to the west. She put away her mobile phone and immediately walked in the direction indicated by the sign.

She went straight there without telling anyone, but after searching for a long time, she still couldn't find her. Just when she was about to give up, her phone rang and someone sent her a message. She clicked it and saw that it was the boss, and his sister had disappeared again.

She wanted to refuse, but the message on the other end startled her. As she read his description, she felt a growing resemblance: on a trip, he'd been following his sister, only to be stopped once they entered a house. Then the child disappeared.

Although she didn't know why Lu Anyu didn't keep an eye on him, the previous description was no different from what she knew.

How could such a coincidence happen? She tentatively asked, doubtful, "Could you tell me where your sister is missing? I might need to locate her, but if that's inconvenient, I don't need to send it."

The other party was still a little anxious, and without saying anything, he directly sent the location. Lin Ruo clicked it and took a look. Sure enough, it was where he was. This person was undoubtedly Lu Anyu.

Without saying anything, he just sent the information he had just calculated and continued searching.

According to the sign, they should first check if there are any construction sites or abandoned factories nearby. However, the yin energy there is very strong, so it seems unsafe for the two of them to go there. He thought about asking other people, but then thought again, there seemed to be no one else, so he took out the amulet from the bracelet and stuffed it into Qin Yu's arms.

"This is?"

"Don't worry about it, let's go." Lin Ruo raised her hand, grabbed his arm and walked straight forward.

He was quite obedient and let her pull him. Sure enough, they found an abandoned factory not far away. It was a deserted and lifeless place, and it was still very scary at night. A cold wind blew directly from the head to the feet, and they both shivered.

Qin Yu turned his head to look around, unconsciously hugged his arms, and took two steps towards Lin Ruona.

"Afraid?" She turned to look at him and asked.

"How is that possible? I'm not afraid at all." He loosened his arms and walked forward with a swagger.

Suddenly, there was a sound from the grass in front. Qin Yu, who was walking forward, was frightened and immediately ran behind Lin Ruo, staring at it cautiously.

Lin Ruo turned her head to look at him, smiled helplessly, walked forward, and looked down at the grass. Suddenly, a kitten ran out from it, made a "meow" sound, and ran away.

"Huh! It turns out to be a kitten." Qin Yu raised his hand and patted his chest.

"Let's go, Lin, let's go and take a look." Lin Ruo took him into the factory. He didn't say anything, but followed on tiptoe.

It was already gloomy outside, and it was even darker inside, with only the faint moonlight shining. Lin Ruo took out his cell phone and pointed it directly at his feet, afraid of tripping and falling to the ground.

At first, Qin Yu just followed behind her, but the further he went in, the more frightened he became. He went from following her obediently to clutching her clothes tightly.

Lin Ruo glanced at him from behind, smiling helplessly. After all, he was still a child, and coming here would be scary. So she slowed down her pace, hoping to ease his fear. Little did she know that the more she did so, the more he felt this torture behind him. He didn't know when it would end, so he could only bite the bullet and follow her.

It took them a full ten minutes to walk from the entrance to the center of the abandoned factory. Lin Ruo stopped in the middle, observing carefully. He glanced at Qin Yu, who was standing next to him. Qin Yu had his eyes closed, and patted him on the shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm here. Nothing will happen."

"Yeah." He was not as stubborn as before and nodded in agreement.

Lin Ruo carefully observed the surroundings and found that even if there was only moonlight, it would not be so dark. Another possibility was that this place was full of wronged souls and had been covered by black aura. Why was there such a black aura here?

She knew this wasn't the issue at hand; the most important thing now was finding Lu Zhaozhao. The factory was huge, and it was impossible to find it just by standing here. She needed to walk forward, as it looked like there were two more floors, and she couldn't miss the upper floors either.

She raised her leg and wanted to walk inside, but suddenly thought of Qin Yu, so she turned to look at him: "How about you wait for me outside?"

"No, I'm not afraid," the child was still very stubborn. His body began to tremble unconsciously, and he bit his lips and refused to go out.

"Okay, then follow me." There was no other way, so he could only lead him forward.

The deeper they went into the factory, the eerie feeling became stronger. Suddenly, a cell phone light came on on the far right. Lin Ruo looked at Qin Yu next to her and said, "Shh." The two of them slowly walked towards the light. Just as they got closer, they found that the other person turned off his phone and the light disappeared. The next second, Lin Ruo felt an arm waving in front of her, and she immediately raised her hand to grab the other person.
