Eyes Opening
"Grandpa, I don't want you to go." The little girl still hugged him tightly.
The old man still had that kind smile on his face, but his eyes revealed a deep reluctance and heartache for the little girl. He patted the girl's shoulder, then his body slowly dissipated, his spiritual energy transforming into pale purple spots that slowly dispersed through the air.
"Grandpa..." The little girl cried and reached out to catch the scattered spots of light, but she couldn't catch them.
This scene made Liu Muze's heart ache, and he remembered the time when Ye Chen turned into a white spot of light after his death. He murmured softly: "I can't keep him. I tried."
Liu Muzhe didn't want to watch any longer and turned away.
Ye Jing'an bowed deeply to the old man, whispered a thank you, turned around and glanced at Liu Muze, only to find that he had already walked away. Ye Jing'an knew that Brother Liu was thinking of that important person again, so he chased after him to comfort him and accompany him: "Brother Liu, wait for me!"
"Don't follow me, go comfort the child." Liu Muzhe continued walking, not knowing where he wanted to go, he just wanted to leave that place.
"Brother Liu, I..."
"Don't follow me!"
Ye Jing'an was stunned. This was the first time Brother Liu spoke with a sense of pressure.
Liu Muze paused, realizing he had lost control of his emotions. He sighed barely audible and said softly, "Be good. I don't know how to comfort a child. Go comfort her. I'll wait for you in the car."
Ye Jingan wanted to run over and hug him, but his feet couldn't move forward.
Damn it!
"Why are you always thinking about others? What about yourself?" Ye Jing'an yelled angrily.
"I don't need it." Liu Muzhe continued walking down the mountain.
The words "I don't need it" were like countless blades stabbing Ye Jing'an's ears all the way to his heart, and then circled around in his heart twice. Ye Jing'an kicked the stone at his feet towards him: "Fuck, what kind of stubborn donkey are you!"
Liu Muze reached out and grabbed the stone, throwing it back. Ye Jing'an frowned, standing there watching his figure walk further and further away, trembling with anger.
In the sea of flowers outside the mountain temple, the little girl knelt on the alfalfa, crying inconsolably.
"Please stop crying, okay?" Qiu Zimu said with a bitter face. He didn't know how to comfort a child, especially a little girl. "I'll take you to buy some candy, okay?"
After coaxing her for a long time, the little girl cried more and more sadly.
There was nothing he could do. Qiu Zimu was about to cry with her. The earth jade spirit in his bag stirred, leaping out, treading on the air, and ran to the little girl. It licked away the little girl's tears and opened its eyes.
"Don't cry, grandpa will be sad." The earth jade spirit stretched out its little hand, touched the little girl's face and comforted her.
"Huh?!" Qiu Zimu's eyes widened. It turned out that it could speak loudly and even take the initiative to comfort people!
The little girl raised her head and looked at the little carrot in front of her. She always felt that it had the scent of her grandfather, so she held it carefully in her hands.
"My little master, I will protect you, don't cry." The Earth Jade Fairy rolled around in the little girl's arms and acted coquettishly to make her happy.
The little girl was amused by it and reached out to poke it gently.
Qiu Zimu's jaw dropped to the ground.
This... is this the little thing from yesterday?
Why are there two faces?
It wasn't like this at all yesterday!
Yesterday, they fed it so much blood, coaxed it and kept it company for half the night, and even fed it poisonous insects. But it ignored them and just sat there sulking and cursing.
Why are you still actively paying for it today? !
This is not fair!
Ye Jingan turned around and prepared to comfort the little girl, but saw her playing with the little carrot head and smiling happily.
"It seems they don't need me." Ye Jing'an raised an eyebrow and turned to walk down the mountain. He cursed in his heart as he walked, and he had already prepared the words. He decided to scold Liu Muze first to wake him up! Seeing him sitting in the back seat of the car, Ye Jing'an opened the door and sat next to him.
Liu Muze: "Why you..."
"Bang!" The loud sound of the car door closing interrupted his words. Liu Muzhe pursed his lips and didn't continue.
"You..." Ye Jing'an had a lot of curse words in his mind, but when the words came to his mouth, he couldn't say a word. The words in his mind did not float to Liu Muze's ears, but instead went down his throat and cut into his own heart.
"What's wrong with you?" Liu Muzhe asked softly. He thought about it and realized that he had spoken a little too loudly just now. He also spoke in a nice way afterwards. Why did he make the child so angry?
Seeing that he still had the nerve to ask what was wrong, Ye Jingan's anger immediately burned through his blood vessels to his head, and his entire forehead felt numb. As if he was short of oxygen, he took a few deep breaths.
Ye Jing'an also knew his temper. He usually didn't get angry, but once he did, he would lose control and get more and more angry. He simply didn't stay next to Liu Muze. He opened the door and walked to the tree in front of the car. He stood there in the cool breeze and chanted a meditation mantra to calm his mind.
"Ice has chilled the earth for thousands of years, and all things are still. The mind is at peace... There is no desire, no seeking, no giving up, no abandoning, no action, no self."
Well, the things our ancestors left behind are indeed useful. I’m not so angry anymore.
But why does my heart still feel so bad? Why can't there be a curse that can stop the pain?
Is it possible that even so many talented people who practice Taoism and pray to Buddha, and so many gods, have no way to deal with heartache?
Ye Jingan pulled his thoughts back, clenched his right fist, and fiercely punched the cracked tree trunk. Ye Jingan closed his eyes tightly, bit his lips and didn't scream, enduring the pain.
Liu Muze had been staring at Ye Jing'an, but he didn't expect him to suddenly raise his hand and punch the tree, knocking all the leaves off the tree. He didn't even have time to get out of the car, unable to block the fierce punch he launched.
"What are you doing!" Liu Muzhe frowned and grabbed his hand.
On the back of his hand, the flesh covering the ulnar styloid process had been hammered away, bleeding. Bits of bark had been embedded in the flesh, and the surface was still stained with moss that had been crushed by his hammer. The wound looked hideous.
"None of your business!" Ye Jingan shook his hand away, glared at him fiercely, and ran back to the car to sit. He rested his wrist on the steering wheel, his palm relaxed and drooping, so that it didn't hurt much.
Liu Muze sat back in his original seat and saw that his hands were shaking in pain as they rested on the steering wheel. He said softly, "Give me your hands. I'll wipe them for you."
"I don't need it!" Ye Jing'an put his hands on his thighs so that he couldn't see them.
"You..." Liu Muzhe didn't know what to say for a while, and when he saw Qiu Zimu leading the little girl down, he simply stopped talking.
Qiu Zimu and the little girl were sitting in the back seat of the car. They smiled and said to him, "Brother Liu, look, it's opening its eyes!"
"Yeah." Liu Muzhe didn't care whether the little thing could open its eyes or not.
"How come the girl signed the contract when she didn't even feed it blood?" Qiu Zimu asked.
Liu Muze thought about it. The book recorded that the only way to sign a contract was with blood. "I think this Earth Jade Spirit grew by absorbing the spiritual energy of the earth spirit. It should be able to sense his concern for this child and is willing to protect her."
The little girl looked at the earth jade spirit in her hand, as if it was really a little elf given to her by her grandfather to accompany her.
"Don't worry, I will protect you well this time." The little girl touched it gently with a pure smile.
"Open your mouth." Liu Muzhe fed the earth spirit's tree heart to the earth jade spirit and took off the talisman hanging on it.
"You know what to do." Liu Muze touched it with his finger again, "Hmm?"
The earth jade spirit nodded and climbed onto the little girl's shoulders.
Liu Muzhe said to the little girl: "Your grandfather is really not gone, he just changed the way he stays with you."
The little girl smiled and nodded gently: "Thank you, you are just as good people as grandpa!"
Liu Muze turned to look at Ye Jing'an, his eyes fixed on his hands gripping the steering wheel. If the Jade Spirit had opened its eyes under normal circumstances, he wouldn't even have driven the car and would have simply started teasing it.
Today, he didn't even turn his head to look at it, nor did he say a word. He just sat in the front and drove alone. Qiu Zimu even called him twice but he didn't respond.
This child is indeed a member of the Ye family, and has the same temper as Ye Chenyi. He usually smiles and never gets angry no matter how much he is provoked, but once he gets angry, he can't be stopped.
As soon as he got home, Ye Jing'an took two steps at a time and went straight to his room.
Qiu Zimu looked puzzled. He thought Ye Jingan and Brother Liu were really interesting. They sulked every now and then, never saying a word. They rushed into their rooms as soon as they got home, and it took turns! Qiu Zimu waved his hand: "Don't mind them. Go watch TV."
Liu Muzhe took a cup of warm water, took the medicine and knocked on Ye Jingan's door.
The door was locked and no one came to open it.
Liu Muze thought of the random talismans Ye Chenyi had studied when he was bored before, and it seemed that there was a talisman with the function of unlocking the door. He drew one according to his vague memory, and with a "click", the door really opened.
Ye Jingan was curled up in bed. When he heard someone come in, he said coldly, "Get out."
"Get up and apply the medicine first." Liu Muzhe put the medicine on the table and walked over to pat his quilt.
"I don't need it!"
"Then get up and drink some water." Liu Muzhe pulled back the quilt.
"I don't need it!"
It’s this sentence again. I shouldn’t have said it at that time!
"I need it, I need it, get up for me." Liu Muzhe hooked his hands around his shoulders and hugged him up.
Ye Jingan sat on the bed sulking, looking away and not looking at him.
"I was wrong. I'm not angry anymore, okay?" Liu Muze carefully picked out the bark residue and gently applied medicine to the wound. The blood on the wound had dried into a black scab, which made him frown deeply.
"What did you do wrong?" Ye Jing'an glanced at him.
"I..." Liu Muzhe rolled his eyes, "I shouldn't say such harsh words."
"Get out!" Ye Jing'an pulled his hand back and snuggled into the quilt.
"..." Liu Muze was really at a loss for words, "I was wrong. I need comfort. Can you comfort me?"
This sentence finally made Ye Jingan laugh, and he hid under the quilt and laughed. Brother Liu seeking comfort is so cute, hahahahahahahaha… Hold it in, don’t give in easily! Otherwise, Brother Liu will be sad like this again next time, and he must cure this bad habit of his.
"Get up." Liu Muze pulled him out of the quilt again, "Why are you so angry?"
"Don't you know?" Ye Jing'an asked back.
