Huangquan

Huangquan

Ye Jingan woke up in a daze and found himself walking uncontrollably behind two strangers.

The surroundings were eerie. The sky was thick with dark clouds, bulging like balls of gray cotton, not a single ray of sunlight filtering through. The ground was covered in fine, loess soil. There was no wind, and the sand lay quietly on the surface. For miles around, not a single plant grew on the ground; it was completely lifeless and stagnant.

Ye Jing'an looked at the only two living creatures in the area. The two walking in front were wearing black and white tracksuits, each sporting a baseball cap. They walked straight ahead without saying a word or making unnecessary movements. The bells hanging from their waists jingled with each step, a clear, ethereal sound that captivated the heart.

Ye Jingan wanted to stop and walk around, but he found that he had no control over his feet. He studied it for a long time and vaguely felt that he was being led forward by the sound of the bell.

He guessed that he was having another strange dream, but this time, although he couldn't control his feet, he could still control his thoughts, which was quite interesting.

Ye Jingan was somewhat curious about who the people in front of him were, so he asked, "Brother, who are you? Where is this place?"

The man in the white tracksuit turned around, glanced at him as if he were a psychopath, and sneered, "Oh my, my, you little fool are awake."

"..." Ye Jing'an glared and retorted, "Do you know any manners? You're the fool!"

"What did you curse at Master Qi? Say it again if you have the guts!" the man in black clothes next to him said viciously.

"Seventh Master?" Ye Jing'an suddenly felt that this name was a little familiar. He glanced at the words written on the two men's baseball caps.

The white hat had the inscription "A Fortune Comes at First Sight," and the black hat had the inscription "Peace Under Heaven." They both wore work badges on their chests: the man in white was Xie Bian, and the man in black was Fan Wujiu.

"Puchi..." Ye Jingan burst into laughter in his heart. His novel train of thought actually made him dream of the Black and White Impermanence, who were wearing casual sports suits and baseball caps, and didn't even have a long tongue. He didn't look like the Impermanence at all.

"You kid are looking for a beating!" Hei Wuchang clenched his hands, and a mourning stick appeared in his hand, which he hit Ye Jing'an on the back.

"Ah... Shit!" The pain spread from Ye Jing'an's back to his entire body, even his bones aching. "Don't they say dreams don't hurt? This stick hit me. Was it that Liu who hit me with a stick while I was sleeping to get revenge? Didn't this hit me awake?"

"Eighth Master, that kid is crazy and is looking for death. Now he thinks he is dreaming. Look at his stupid look. Don't pay attention to him and keep going." Bai Wuchang said.

"What do you mean? Am I dreaming?" Ye Jing'an asked.

"Silly child, you are dead." Bai Wuchang laughed.

"Ah?" Ye Jingan paused, "How could he be dead? I'm alive and well. I still have to go and apologize to Brother Liu. Didn't I just leave the nightclub? How did I fall asleep?"

"Oh, silly child, your stupidity has become part of his nature." Bai Wuchang shook his head.

"Stop scolding me!" Ye Jing'an glanced at the Black and White Impermanence, "You two are wearing clothes that don't suit you. You don't have a long tongue, you don't look like the Black and White Impermanence. Change your clothes. I don't like the way you look. It's awkward."

"What era is it now? Do you know how to keep up with the times?" Bai Wuchang rolled his eyes at him, "Do we need you to like us?"

Ye Jingan thought about it and realized that Brother Liu wasn't wearing ancient costume either. He asked again, "Hey, do you have a way to summon people from a distance? Please help me summon someone over. I haven't seen him for a day and I want to talk to him in my dream."

Bai Wuchang turned away speechlessly and cursed, "Are you seriously ill? How could you meet someone like this with a weak brain and a lot of chatter?"

Ye Jing'an saw that Hei Wuchang raised the stick in his hand again. He was afraid of being beaten, so he didn't dare to retort Bai Wuchang. He shook his head nonchalantly and said nothing.

He secretly muttered and cursed in his heart, saying that he had to endure the humiliation for just having a dream. If he couldn't see her in the dream, he would see her in reality. He followed the two of them and kept muttering, "Wake up, wake up..."

"Stop making noise!" Hei Wuchang roared.

"It's my dream. I can argue if I want to. It's none of your business!" Ye Jing'an retorted.

"You're looking for a beating!" Hei Wuchang swung the mourning stick and hit him on the head.

Ye Jing'an was traumatized by the previous beating with the stick. If he was hit on the head with the stick, he would faint from the pain. He immediately covered his head, closed his eyes and dodged.

He heard a metallic clang and squinted his eyes to see Jun Mujian blocking the mourning stick. Ye Jing'an followed the sword's direction and exclaimed in surprise, "Brother Liu! Oh, my dream was so powerful! I summoned Brother Liu to me. Hehehehe... Hey? Why are your clothes covered in blood?!"

Brother Liu panted lightly and looked at him anxiously. If this mourning stick hit him on the head, he would become a fool at best, and his soul would be shattered at worst.

Seeing that Ye Jing'an didn't know the seriousness of the situation and was still laughing foolishly, Liu Muze instantly understood why Hei Wuchang wanted to hit him on the head. Ye Jing'an deserved a beating no matter where he went. He touched Ye Jing'an's head helplessly, pulled him behind him, and smiled at Hei Wuchang: "Brother Wuchang, long time no see."

"Don't be so friendly with me! Why are you here again?" Bai Wuchang glared.

"Brother Xie, you are being too polite. We are close friends, so of course I have to take some time to come down and see you." Liu Muzhe said.

"Don't mention that to me!" Bai Wuchang asked with a depressed look on his face, "What do you want to do this time?"

"Looking for someone." Liu Muzhe said lightly.

"Didn't you look for them all last time? Where are your people here?" Bai Wuchang asked.

"Go back!" Hei Wuchang threatened him while holding a mourning stick.

"I won't go back. What can you do? Can you beat me?" Liu Muzhe used his sword to knock down his mourning stick.

"Ah!" Hei Wuchang gathered all his strength to swing the mourning stick at Liu Muzhe, but was stopped by Bai Wuchang.

Hei Wuchang's face was distorted with anger. The more Ye Jing'an watched, the funnier it became. He had portrayed the image of Brother Liu in his dream as being too arrogant, and his mean-spirited look was almost as bad as his own.

"You are an illegal resident of the underworld, so don't come here to cause trouble for us brothers! Go back quickly, we are at work and don't have time to play with you." Bai Wuchang said.

"Okay, let him go." Liu Muzhe pointed at Ye Jing'an.

"Brother, he is the person we want to catch. How can we report him if we let him go?" Bai Wuchang said.

Liu Muze threw the bottle containing the wizard's soul to Bai Wuchang: "He was the one who harmed this child. Take him in exchange."

"Liu Muze! After so many years, can you please be reasonable?" Bai Wuchang said speechlessly, "Can this be easily replaced?"

"How am I being unreasonable? I'm lucky I didn't just snatch it away! Why can't I just change it? Are you blind? Didn't you see that he's wrapped in the evil spirit from the bottle? If you can drive away the evil spirit from Ye Jing'an, you can change it. You still haven't grown a brain after all these years!" Liu Muzhe said impatiently

"Good scolding!" Ye Jing'an felt relieved when he saw Bai Wuchang's face turned blue after being scolded by Brother Liu. He clapped his hands and watched the joke.

"Eighth Master, let's beat him! He's too bullying!" Bai Wuchang rolled up his sleeves.

"Are you human?" Liu Muzhe sneered.

"Looking for death!" Black Wuchang suddenly rushed out, swinging the mourning stick wildly. White Wuchang also joined in, and the three of them fought in a group.

Ye Jing'an was stunned. He saw three shadows swaying back and forth so fast that he couldn't see their fighting movements at all.

After dozens of rounds, Bai Wuchang was kicked to the ground by Liu Muze. Liu Muze laughed and said, "Brother Xie, you haven't grown any smarter in these years, and you haven't improved in fighting. You can't take a beating, so you can only catch some little ghosts here to play with. It's lame!"

"Fan Wujiu! Beat him to death!" Bai Wuchang roared.

"Don't shout so loudly. If your throat gets damaged, you'll be like your brother, unable to speak complete sentences and shouting nonsense all day long. It would be too boring if no one responded to my teachings." Liu Muze smiled and raised his eyebrows. "Don't you agree, Brother Fan?"

"Die!" Hei Wuchang was shaking with anger.

When Liu Muzhe was young, he broke into the underworld and caused trouble in order to find Ye Chenyi. He was forgiven after admitting his mistake and was told to stay with Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva for a while to reflect on himself. However, Bai Wuchang exaggerated the matter and complained to everyone, and then punished him by making him copy Buddhist scriptures.

In order to finish copying quickly and leave, he worked from morning to night without rest, and his hands were shaking and weak from copying. Now the Buddhist scriptures used in the underworld are still copied by him.

After that, Liu Muze started making trouble as soon as he saw them. He would definitely make trouble with them when he came to the underworld. Hei Wuchang can resist beatings, while Bai Wuchang talks a lot and can scold. Liu Muze liked to bully them both, and would not make too much of a fuss. He would run away immediately after getting angry with them.

The Black and White Impermanence annoyed him the most. Liu Muzhe was not under their jurisdiction to begin with, so the superiors would not take such petty quarrels seriously at all. The Black and White Impermanence had no way to deal with him.

"Kong Shi." A deep and gentle voice came from the void, long and solemn, like soft fingers brushing across the heartstrings, one sound can calm people's hearts.

Liu Muze quickly put away his sword, stood up obediently, put his hands together, and bowed to the sky in salute: "Bodhisattva."

Bai Wuchang shouted, "Buddha, this troublemaker is causing trouble again. Look how we got beaten up. Hurry up and take him to teach him a lesson!"

Liu Muze glared at him, his face full of grievance, and said, "I didn't do that. It was clearly Hei Wuchang who started it. I just came to remind them that they had arrested the wrong person. Who knew that they would not repent and even tried to beat me away so that they could get away with it? They deserve to be punished!"

"Huh?" Bai Wuchang's eyes widened. "You're the first to complain! The Bodhisattva will see clearly!"

Liu Muze released the wizard's soul and said, "He has used this evil magic to prolong his life with the souls of countless people. You haven't caught him yet, so what's there to argue about? You two are eating this free meal, you really need to understand!"

"Kong Shi, have you forgotten what I said?" asked the Bodhisattva.

"No, I remember them all and can recite them by heart." Liu Muzhe lowered his head obediently, feeling scared when he thought about being caught and forced to recite scriptures and copy characters.

"If he forgets, catch him again and recite the sutra to him a hundred thousand times to help him remember it! Then make him copy the Buddhist scriptures a hundred million times!" said Bai Wuchang.
