Malt sugar
After a few calls, a middle-aged woman holding a vegetable basket came forward doubtfully and asked, "Can you exorcise evil spirits?"
"Of course you can. Did you encounter any evil spirit?" the strange man asked with a smile.
"My little grandson seems to have been frightened by something. He has a high fever and the medicine prescribed by the doctor is not working. He asked me to ask an expert to take a look." said the woman.
"Well, take me to see it." said the strange man.
"Okay! Please follow me." The woman took them both home. A child who was younger than Liu Muzhe was lying obediently on the bed.
The weirdo touched his forehead and nodded slightly: "It is true that he was possessed by something."
"What should we do? Master, please save him!" the woman said anxiously.
Ye Jingan waved his hand in a pretentious manner and said calmly, "Don't worry, bring me some yellow paper and a pen."
"I'll get it right away." The woman ran out for a while and returned with a large pile of yellow paper. "Is it enough? If not, I'll go buy more!"
"That's enough." The weirdo laughed dryly. "Two is enough, actually."
He took out a piece of yellow paper and skillfully wrote a talisman to ward off evil spirits. He said to the woman, "Get another bowl and fill it with half a bowl of water."
"Okay!" The woman immediately ran to the kitchen, filled a bowl of water and handed it to him.
The strange man waved the talisman a few times and made a hand gesture. The talisman paper spontaneously combusted out of thin air. He placed the remaining talisman ashes into a bowl and said, "Feed the talisman water to the child. Just drink it and he will be fine."
Liu Muzhe stared at the strange man in front of him in surprise. The exorcism spell he had just written was exactly the same as the one his master gave him, except that his master didn't need to make any strange gestures.
But the master said that his spell was created by a strange man and has been passed down from generation to generation. So where did this person learn it from?
After drinking the talisman water, the child struggled and cried frantically. The woman was very anxious and just wanted to pick up the child, but was immediately stopped: "Don't move, the evil spirit won't come out yet. If you touch the child, it might run onto you."
Seeing that this evil spirit was still very persistent and patient, and refused to come out even after being burned by the talisman water, he cursed inwardly, wrote another talisman, folded it into a triangular package, and stuffed it into the child's clothes.
Under the dual attack of the two spells, the evil spirit finally couldn't bear it anymore and crawled out of the child's mouth. He grabbed it, stuffed it into the bottle, and sealed it with a spell to ensure that it wouldn't escape. Then he said to the woman, "Okay, your child should wake up in a while."
"Ah?" The woman walked over to the child, half-believing, picked him up, and touched his forehead. Sure enough, the heat was gone. "Thank you, Master! You're truly divine!"
"It's just a small favor, you're welcome!" The weirdo put his hands behind his back in a very graceful manner, raised his head slightly and smiled.
Liu Muzhe took out a triangular package from his pocket. It was the blessing of peace written by his master for him, and it was exactly the same as what this weirdo wrote!
"Master, this is your reward!" The woman gave him a bulging bag of silver.
He had no idea about money in those days, so he asked the woman, "How much candy can you buy with this money?"
"Mallet?" The woman thought carefully. "A lot, right? Enough for you to eat for a week anyway."
Hearing this, the weirdo's eyes lit up: "That's great! Thank you, thank you! Hahahahahahahaha!"
Liu Muzhe glanced at him with disdain, thinking that this man seemed to have never seen money before, and his eyes were brighter than those of human traffickers when they saw money.
"Master, please stay for dinner!" the woman invited warmly.
"No, I have to go buy him some candy." The strange man laughed heartily. "If you think my spell is effective, you can recommend it to others. I'm staying at a hotel on this street anyway."
"Of course, of course! Take care, Master." The woman walked them to the door.
Liu Muze had originally considered asking the woman for help, but then realized that this man, who could draw spells and make money by exorcising evil spirits, had no reason to be involved in child trafficking. Furthermore, his spells were exactly the same as those taught by his master. Wanting to understand this man's identity and background, Liu Muze followed him silently.
Unexpectedly, as soon as he walked out of the door, the man grabbed him in his arms and turned around and ran away.
Liu Muze's heart was filled with alarm. This was not the classic human trafficker's escape move. He subconsciously struggled and shouted, "Let me go!"
"No!" The weirdo hugged her tighter. "Hey, hey, let's go buy some malt sugar. Lots and lots of malt sugar!"
Liu Muzhe was stunned. Did he really want to buy him candy?
"Hey, eat some candy... Hahaha, eat some candy..." The weirdo kept muttering as he ran with a silly grin. Everyone around him looked at him as if he were a fool, silently moving aside a few steps to make way, fearing they would bump into him and get extorted.
Liu Muzhe saw that this person seemed to want candy more than he did, and had a silly look on his face, which made him laugh out loud.
"You laughed?" The weirdo was a little surprised. "Hey, you finally laughed!"
The weirdo's laughter was quite contagious. Liu Muze laughed a few more times and asked, "Are you a fool?"
"What did you say?!" The strange man continued with a smile, "Liu, you've really been a bad kid since you were little! I earn money with good intentions to buy you candy, and you actually call me a fool!"
"Huh? How do you know my last name is Liu?" Liu Muzhe asked in confusion.
"Of course, I'm a fortune teller!" The weirdo raised his chin.
"Immortal?" Liu Muze paused, "Then have you seen my master?"
The strange man was obviously stunned, as if he remembered something, his expression became a little depressed, then he smiled faintly, rubbed his face and said: "Your master is not with me, but he is doing well."
"Then can you let me talk to him? I miss him so much!" Liu Muzhe said expectantly.
"Sorry, I don't know how to do this and can't contact your master." said the strange man.
Liu Muzhe's shoulders slumped, he lowered his head silently, and didn't ask any more questions.
"Okay, don't be sad, I'll take you to buy some candy!" the weirdo coaxed.
Liu Muze glanced at him suspiciously. For some reason, he felt like this man would actually buy him candy and wouldn't sell him off like other human traffickers. Liu Muze asked curiously, "What's your name? Do you know my master?"
"Hehe, I'm your husband." The weirdo laughed.
Liu Muze tilted his head and thought about what the word "husband" meant. His master had never taught him this word, nor had he heard anyone else say it. He asked in confusion, "What does it mean?"
"Well...it's someone who won't hurt you and will treat you well." The weirdo explained.
"Oh, then the master is also my husband?" Liu Muzhe said.
The strange man staggered, his tongue tied, and he slurred, "No, no, no, no, no, a master can only be a master! Remember, I'm your only husband! Remember this, no yelling!"
This aroused Liu Muze's rebellious psychology, and he shouted: "Master is not only a master, but also my only relative! Why should I listen to you? I will shout!"
The weirdo was stunned: "Oh my, Liu, you have really been a prick since you were a child!"
"Hmph! Let me down!" Liu Muzhe struggled.
"Okay, okay, keep shouting! Do whatever you want, I'll listen to you, okay?" The weirdo coaxed him.
"Where are you taking me?" Liu Muzhe asked.
"Buy some candy. Don't you want to eat some candy?" said the strange man.
"Are you really going to buy it for me?" Liu Muzhe still didn't quite believe that a stranger would be so kind as to buy him candy.
"You'll find out when you get there." The strange man carried him to the candy shop and bought candies of various flavors and shapes, stuffing them into Liu Muze's hands. He had thought they were very expensive, but in the end, the money he spent was less than a fraction of what he had earned before.
Liu Muze didn't expect this weirdo to actually buy it for him. He couldn't tell what he felt for a moment, but when he heard the weirdo sigh as he paid, his expression instantly turned unhappy. Liu Muze thought it was too expensive and hurriedly pushed the candy back: "I don't want it."
"Why?" asked the strange man.
"I just don't want it!" Liu Muzhe turned his head away proudly.
"No, you have to have it!" The weirdo asked the boss to put the candy into the bag, paid and left.
"Why did you buy me such expensive candy?" Liu Muzhe asked.
The weirdo was stunned: "Is this expensive?"
"Then why did you sigh when you paid just now, and why did you stop smiling instantly?" Liu Muzhe asked.
The strange man was silent for a moment, with his brows drooping and a long sigh. Liu Muze was determined in his thoughts, but heard the strange man say: "I feel sorry for you."
Liu Muzhe was stunned. In this world, only his master cared about him.
"Okay." The weirdo pinched his face, "Are you hungry? I'll take you to eat!"
Liu Muzhe stared at him with his round eyes, without struggling or resisting, and let him carry her around.
The two of them came to one of their favorite restaurants. As soon as they sat down, he closed his eyes and ordered noodles and two plates of braised beef in soy sauce. This was their favorite set meal for drinking. Unfortunately, Liu Muzhe was still young and couldn't drink, so he had to add a few more dishes.
"Can you use chopsticks to eat by yourself?" asked the strange man.
Liu Muzhe nodded and picked up the chopsticks to demonstrate to him.
"That's great!" The weirdo put the whole plate of braised beef into his bowl.
Seeing that he was reluctant to eat even a piece of beef, Liu Muze left it all to him. He then picked up two pieces with chopsticks and fed them to the strange man: "You eat."
"What do you mean, you suspect me of poisoning you?"
Liu Muzhe shook his head, not knowing how to explain. He stuffed the two slices of braised beef into his mouth and picked up two more slices to feed him.
The weirdo was stunned for a moment, then suddenly went crazy and hugged him and kissed him twice.
"So you wanted to feed me meat. Why are you so cute? I can't stand it. I want to kiss you to death!"
Seeing this, Liu Muze suddenly felt scared. Was this person planning to eat him? Was he buying him malt sugar before and inviting him to dinner just to fatten him up before eating him?
Liu Muzhe pushed against him with his hands and feet, arching his back in an attempt to break free from his restraints and run away.
The customers around them saw the two men's strange behavior and started to talk about it. One of them, a man with a sword on his back, slammed the table and said, "Hey! What are you doing?"
"This is my child, what's wrong with kissing him?" the weirdo said righteously.
