missing
In the middle of the night, Ye Jingan was woken up by the ringing of his cell phone. He closed his eyes, fumbled for his phone, hung up the call, and complained, "When did I set an alarm for the middle of the night?"
He had just lain down to sleep when his phone rang again. Ye Jing'an had finally woken up a bit. It was the ringtone for his WeChat call. He didn't want to wake up Brother Liu, so he picked up the phone and went out to answer it. It was Song Yiyu, and he sounded anxious on the other end, telling Ye Jing'an that Ren Heshu was missing.
"What? Did he run away while sleepwalking?" Ye Jing'an asked.
"She doesn't have the habit of sleepwalking. I searched the entire community but couldn't find her. I even asked the security guard, and he said he hadn't seen her go out." Song Yiyu said.
"Don't worry, Brother Liu and I will come over to help you look for her." Ye Jing'an ran to Liu Muzhe's room, "Brother Liu, Ren Heshu is missing."
Liu Muze frowned and put on a coat: "Let's go."
When Ye Jingan and Liu Muze arrived at the complex, Song Yiyu was frantically making a phone call downstairs. Seeing them, she hurried over and said, "I can't find her anywhere. Is she a girl this late at night and nothing bad will happen to her?"
"Don't worry, don't worry. I'll find it for you right away." Ye Jing'an ran to Ren Heshu's room. Luckily, girls often shed their hair. Although Song Yiyu cleaned very thoroughly, he could always find hair in some cracks and corners. He picked up a hair and put it in the talisman to burn it. A puff of green smoke slowly floated out and turned into a small ball of light that flew out of the room. "Let's follow it."
Liu Muzhe looked at Ye Jing'an with a little surprise. It seemed that Ye Jing'an had really learned everything he wrote in the book and knew what to do when the situation arose. Liu Muzhe felt a lot more at ease. As long as Ye Jing'an was able to protect himself, it was fine.
The small ball of light went down to the first floor and flew out from the iron railings at the back of the community.
"No wonder the security guard didn't see him. He must have climbed over the wall and ran away." Ye Jing'an said.
"Is this thing of yours reliable? How did she climb over such a high railing?" Song Yiyu asked.
"If you don't believe me, go find it yourself." Ye Jing'an said to Liu Muze, "Brother Liu, follow them first. I'll get a car to pick you up."
"Okay." Liu Muzhe held the railing with his hands, kicked his legs and rolled sideways.
Several people drove out of the city following the light group. The direction the light group was heading seemed to be an uninhabited mountainous area. Ye Jingan said, "It doesn't look like she walked here by herself. It looks like she was abducted."
After hearing this, Song Yiyu became more anxious. He supported himself on the backrest of the main driver's seat, looked at the ball of light leading the way not far ahead, and urged: "Drive faster!"
"What's the use of urging me? Just tell it to fly faster." Ye Jing'an said.
"Why don't you do it yourself?" Liu Muze took out a talisman and waved it in front of him. "Can you drive?"
Song Yiyu took the talisman paper: "Yes, how do I use it?"
Liu Muze burned the talisman in front of him, and Song Yiyu suddenly had a strong feeling in his heart that he wanted to go somewhere. He looked at Liu Muze in confusion, and when Liu Muze nodded, Song Yiyu urged Ye Jingan to get out of the car and let him drive.
Song Yiyu had just fastened her seatbelt when she stepped on the accelerator and rushed out. Ye Jingan, who was sitting in the back seat without a seatbelt, hit his face on the backrest. He covered his forehead and shouted, "Slow down! The speed limit here is 60 mph, and you're already going 120!"
Song Yiyu ignored him and sped up instead.
"Be careful, if there's a car accident, your girlfriend will be completely finished." Ye Jing'an patted him on the shoulder and said, "Drive faster while ensuring safety."
Song Yiyu thought about it and it made sense. If there was a car accident, it would only delay him even more. He focused his attention and kept the speed within a relatively safe range. He drove further and further away, surrounded by dark mountain roads. In the distance, he could see the taillights of several cars among the mountains. Song Yiyu became more and more anxious. This place definitely didn't come by himself. He must have been abducted.
Fortunately, the mountain road was easy to drive on and there were few cars on the road, so we could drive faster. After driving for nearly two hours, Song Yiyu's eyesight became blurry and his feet began to numb. More importantly, the strong feeling of wanting to go somewhere disappeared, replaced by an uncontrollable panic.
He stopped the car, took a few deep breaths, and told Liu Muzhe that he could no longer feel Ren Heshu.
"It must be due to some interference, or Ren Heshu was locked up." Liu Muzhe said.
"What should we do then?" Song Yiyu asked.
Liu Muzhe released the small ball of light again. The ball of light circled around the car and flew forward.
"You take a break, I'll drive." Ye Jing'an pulled Song Yiyu out of the main driving position and quickly followed the ball of light. When they reached the first bend, the ball of light stopped and flew back again after a while.
"Did it take the wrong road?" Ye Jing'an turned around and followed it. When the car reached the last fork in the road, the ball of light stopped again.
"It looks like it's nearby." Liu Muzhe said.
"So which of these two roads should we take?" Ye Jing'an asked.
"Go downhill, the road we just took. The light ball turned back and said that the road had the greatest interference. It is very likely that it is in that direction." Liu Muzhe said.
After the car reached the top of the mountain and went downhill around the mountain, several people saw faint yellow lights at the foot of the two mountains, which looked like there were several families living there.
Song Yiyu felt that Ren Heshu was most likely trapped down there, and urged Ye Jingan to drive down faster. The mountain road here was winding, and the guardrails on the side of the road showed signs of being damaged by cars every few steps. Ye Jingan didn't dare to act rashly and maintained a safe speed down the mountain.
The straight-line distance didn't seem very far, but it took quite a while to drive down the mountain. Song Yiyu was sitting in the back seat and felt a little carsick from the shaking.
"There is a fork in the road ahead. That path should lead into the village." Ye Jing'an said.
"Well, just drive in directly." Liu Muzhe said.
There are fewer trees around the path, and with the help of the car's high beams, you can vaguely see that the surrounding land has been cultivated and some crops are planted.
After turning a corner, the village appeared before our eyes. From a distance, the village looked quite large, consisting of old brick and tile houses. Under the light, we could vaguely see a newly built three-story Western-style building in the back.
Song Yiyu couldn't wait to get out of the car, but Liu Muzhe held him back and said, "Don't be impulsive, something's not right here."
"Wait a moment, I'll look for the camera that Lao Qiu left in the car." Ye Jing'an said.
"It's already this late, and you're still thinking about taking pictures?!" Song Yiyu said unhappily.
"I think you're really frantic. Why don't you disguise yourself and just barge into someone else's village? They just captured your girlfriend, and three men showed up that same day. I don't know what they're doing. Others will definitely get suspicious. Calm down!" Ye Jing'an reminded him, "If you want to rescue your girlfriend quickly, don't talk nonsense and just follow us."
"Okay." Song Yiyu sighed. He was indeed a little anxious. The moment he got off the car, he didn't think about anything at all. He just wanted to rush into someone else's room and find Ren Heshu.
"Let's keep our story consistent. If anyone asks, we'll just say that we were students filming materials for our final assignments," said Ye Jing'an.
"Well, don't worry, I won't hold you back." Song Yiyu said.
Liu Muzhe took the two of them into the village.
It was the middle of the night and every household had turned off the lights and gone to bed, but about fifty meters away there was a house with the lights still on, and several people walked towards that light.
Ye Jing'an shone his flashlight around the houses, but didn't see anything unusual. Each house had a long, red lantern hanging from its roof. Unlike the lanterns hung at doorsteps during Chinese New Year, these looked homemade, made of bamboo and paper. The workmanship wasn't particularly refined, and the Chinese character for "囍" (Happy Birthday) was written in large black ink on the lanterns.
"Did they just get married here?" Ye Jing'an asked.
"I don't know, maybe he is preparing to get married." Liu Muzhe said.
"What's wrong here?" Ye Jing'an rubbed his eyes. Perhaps it was because he had been driving for too long at night, his eyes were dry and astringent, and his vision was a little blurry. Ye Jing'an felt that this feeling was somewhat familiar. He took good care of his eyes. Although he had been concentrating on driving just now, it shouldn't have caused his eyes to be so uncomfortable.
"The yin energy here is very heavy. Many people have died here, and there is still a lot of resentment." Liu Muzhe said.
Ye Jingan remembered that he didn't have the Yin-Yang ability, so normally he couldn't see the Yin energy of Brother Liu. But luckily, he had learned the spell to open his eyes. The spell took effect, and Ye Jingan opened his eyes and said in surprise, "It's so dark, no wonder it irritates my eyes!"
"What's wrong? Are your eyes uncomfortable?" Liu Muzhe looked at Ye Jing'an's eyes, which were bloodshot again like last time.
"Well, it's a bit dry. Maybe it's because I've been driving for a long time." Ye Jing'an said.
"Does it feel the same as when you were in Wu Yuling's school?" Liu Muzhe asked.
"Hey, you're right. It seems to be almost the same, but not as serious as it was then. At that time, I could hardly open my eyes." Ye Jing'an said.
"Well, not that many people died here. It seems like your eyes hurt every time you come across a place with a strong yin energy." Liu Muzhe looked at Ye Jing'an's eyes carefully. "Your eyes may also be a kind of yin-yang eyes, but you are affected by something so that you can't see and can only feel it occasionally."
"Really? Then how can I see it?" Ye Jing'an got excited after hearing this. With the Yin-Yang Eyes, he would become even more powerful. He would not need to use talismans to open his eyes in the future. He could see any danger approaching at a glance. Brother Liu would no longer have to worry about him getting into trouble every day.
Liu Muzhe thought for a moment and said, "Not necessarily. It's just my guess. I've never encountered this kind of situation before. I need to research it."
As they chatted, they had already reached the house with the lights on. This was a three-story Western-style house, with only the lights on on the first floor. Ye Jingan knocked on the door and shouted, "Hello, excuse me."
The door opened a crack, and a bearded man poked his head out. He looked at the group and asked, "Who are you? What's going on?"
