Paper Crane

Paper Crane

Early the next morning, Liu Muzhe came to Yuhang Mountain with a large box of paper cranes. He knew that these paper cranes would have nowhere to go, but he still took one out to deceive himself and placed it in his hand to activate the talisman.

The paper crane seemed to suddenly come to life, slowly flapping its wings and flying out from Liu Muzhe's hand. However, it spontaneously combusted in the air after flying less than two feet, and its spirit broke free and flew to the ground.

Liu Muze tried several more times, but the results were the same. He laughed at himself and said, "Didn't I say I missed you, so I folded paper cranes for you? You used to beg me to fold them for you, but now I've folded over a hundred, and why don't you accept any of them?"

Liu Muzhe was tired. Looking at the spirits imprisoned in the paper cranes in the box, he felt sorry for them and patiently released them one by one.

"Hey... there's only one left." Liu Muzhe picked up the last paper crane and took a look. It was so ugly. "I made this one myself."

He paid no attention to it, wanting only to free himself from the spirit and return to rest. This paper crane was different from the previous ones. After being released, it did not spontaneously combust. Instead, it flew farther and farther.

Liu Muze's heart skipped a beat as he stared blankly at the paper crane flying farther and farther into the sky, waiting for it to reach its limit and spontaneously combust and fall. But the crane didn't do what he expected and instead accelerated down the mountain.

"Ye Chenyi!" Liu Muzhe followed it down the mountain as if he had lost his soul. He chased it all the way back and found that the path it flew seemed to be the hotel where they were staying.

In the hotel, Ye Jingan was sitting on the bed happily playing with his mobile phone when he heard a slight knocking sound on the window. He opened the curtains and saw the little thing that Brother Liu had folded before knocking on the window with his mouth.

When the paper crane saw Ye Jing'an, it tilted its little pointed head to look at him, then waved its wings to greet him and knocked on the window to indicate that it wanted to come in.

Ye Jingan rubbed his eyes and saw that he was not dazzled. It was really a greeting to him. If it were in the past, Ye Jingan would have thought he was dreaming when he saw this scene. But now, it was nothing surprising. There were many things more outrageous than a paper crane that could say hello.

Ye Jing'an opened the window, and the paper crane flew into his hand and landed. Its head was crooked, its wings were one large and one small, and there were many creases. He flipped the crane over with his fingers and said, "Isn't this the ugly thing I made? How did it recognize its owner and fly over to me?"

Liu Muzhe followed the spirit's breath to Ye Jing'an's room, pushed open the door, and was startled to see the paper crane in Ye Jing'an's hand.

"Brother Liu?" Ye Jing'an raised the paper crane and said, "Did you send it flying over here? It just said hello to me. It's quite interesting. What kind of secret technique is this? Teach me how to play it!"

Liu Muze was stunned by what he heard. At that time, he had received hundreds of paper cranes, but he had never seen any of them greet him. They just flew into his hands and immediately lost their vitality and motion. He took the paper crane and looked at it, staring at Ye Jingan suspiciously.

"Why are you looking at me?" Ye Jing'an asked.

Liu Muzhe picked up the paper crane, looked at it for a moment, and then threw it at Ye Jingan's face.

"Are you sick?" Ye Jingan picked up the paper crane and threw it back at his face.

Liu Muze: "..."

Liu Muzhe opened the paper crane, and the words that the spirit showed on the white paper were: Where are you?

He handed the white paper to Ye Jingan and said, "Can you see the words on it?"

Ye Jingan looked left and right, but there was nothing on the wrinkled paper except creases.

Liu Muze took the paper back, but the spirit still did not disappear. This time he was really confused. This secret technique has only two results. The first is that the person who receives the paper crane is no longer in this world, and the spirit will spontaneously combust. The second is that the person receives the paper crane, the spirit completes its mission, and dissipates from the paper and returns to nature. So what happened today?

Ye Jingan looked at Liu Muze with a frown on his face and asked, "Brother Liu, what are you thinking about?"

"Is this just folded by you?" Liu Muzhe asked.

"Yes, I made it when I was bored in prison. What's wrong with it?" Ye Jing'an asked curiously.

"What were you thinking about when you were folding the paper crane?" Liu Muzhe asked again.

"Uh... do I have to tell you?" Ye Jingan smiled awkwardly, "Can I not tell you?"

"This is very important, tell the truth!" Liu Muzhe said seriously.

"Well... Brother Liu is an elementary school student, and he likes to fold these little things." Ye Jingan suppressed his laughter, "I think there's something wrong with your brain, you're so stupid."

Liu Muze: "..."

"What are you doing? What's the use of this little thing?" Ye Jing'an asked.

"This is what my best friend taught me. He said that if I have something or miss him, I can fold a paper crane and send it to him." Liu Muzhe said.

"Oh my god, you two are so stuffy. If you have something to say, why don't you just send a message or make a phone call? You even fold paper cranes... How romantic! Two grown men are doing this, and you haven't even broken the window paper yet. You two are really a pair of Crouching Dragon and Phoenix!" Ye Jing'an said sourly.

But after thinking about it, it made sense. It was precisely because Brother Liu didn't understand love and these things that he had the opportunity to stay around Brother Liu and cause trouble. If Brother Liu could see through all this, he would have discovered his evil intentions long ago. After all, even a fool like Qiu Zimu could spot the signs. If he had discovered these thoughts, given Brother Liu's personality, he would definitely keep his distance from him, or even ignore him outright.

Ye Jingan didn't want to end up in a situation where they couldn't see each other anymore, or even talk to each other when they did meet. It was fine that Brother Liu didn't understand love. As long as he didn't say it and didn't show it obviously, Brother Liu wouldn't notice.

He could wait until Brother Liu could let go of his brother's departure. If Brother Liu couldn't let go, he was willing to stay close to Brother Liu and accompany him like a friend.

Liu Muze's mind was in a mess at this moment. He couldn't figure out the paper crane thing, and he couldn't refute Ye Jing'an's words. He couldn't just tell him that there were no mobile phones in that era. Times have changed, so there's nothing he can do. Looking back at things done in the past with today's thinking is really disgusting...

Ye Jing'an came back to his senses and suddenly realized something. He asked Liu Muzhe, "You just said you were sending this to your best friend? Why did you fly to me?"

"I want to know too." Liu Muzhe stared at him.

"You still have a box, where are the other paper cranes?" Ye Jing'an asked.

"They all spontaneously combusted, and only it flew to you." Liu Muzhe said.

Ye Jingan felt uneasy when Liu Muze stared at him. He said weakly, "I really didn't do anything. I don't know! Are you going to arrest me for research?"

"I know you didn't do anything. You don't even know ordinary talismans. It's impossible for you to have such a thing." Liu Muzhe said.

"Well, your analysis is correct." Ye Jing'an was a little excited and asked tentatively, "So... this paper crane flew to me, which means I am the reincarnation of your old friend?"

Liu Muze frowned slightly and said uncertainly, "I don't think you are. His soul was scattered back then, so it's impossible for him to come back. Besides, he is much more reliable than you, and he doesn't ask for a beating like you."

"You're the one who deserves a beating!" Ye Jing'an rolled his eyes. "Alright, stop imagining it. I guess the paper crane I made likes me, so it didn't help you pass on the message and sneaked over to play with me."

Liu Muzhe became stubborn and insisted on figuring out the paper crane issue today. He took out the remaining pieces of paper and asked Ye Jingan to continue folding them, no matter how many he could. He then ran out to catch the spirit.

Ye Jing'an felt depressed as he looked at the white pieces of paper. He felt in his heart that he couldn't be an old friend of Brother Liu.

If so, then in his previous life, he loved Brother Liu so much that he would save him even if his soul was torn apart. How could he forget him in his next life? With Ye Jingan's personality, even if he died, he would do everything he could to remember the person he loved so deeply.

Then I am not his old friend. After giving Brother Liu hope, I let him down again. How sad he must be. Ye Jingan secretly regretted why he folded a paper crane and caused such trouble.

There was nothing he could do but to fold the paper crane according to Brother Liu's request. He knew what Brother Liu was going to do and prayed silently in his heart that the paper crane would fly to him again.

Liu Muze came back with the small jar and asked Ye Jingan, "How many did you stack?"

Ye Jingan counted and said, "Nine. I'm clumsy and can't fold them well."

"That's perfect. I only caught ten spirits." Liu Muzhe put the spirits into the paper cranes according to the previous method.

"No, what are you pinching into the air?" Ye Jing'an asked, "Why don't I see any spirits?"

"You can't see it. Only people who perform secret techniques can see it." Liu Muze added, "And people who collect paper cranes can see the words revealed by spirits."

After stuffing the nine paper cranes with spirits, Liu Muzhe asked Ye Jing'an to wait by the window, and he ran downstairs with the paper cranes.

Ye Jing'an stood by the window and watched Liu Muzhe release the paper cranes. His heart was beating in his throat, hoping that they would fly to him.

The first one spontaneously combusted as soon as it flew out. Liu Muze didn't give up and released one after another, but none of them flew to Ye Jingan. Liu Muze lowered his hands and stood there blankly.

Ye Jing'an ran downstairs and looked at Liu Muze's lost expression. He felt very uncomfortable: "Brother Liu... I'm sorry."

"I'm fine. I know everything." Liu Muzhe looked at the words on the white paper, broke the spell, pulled the spirit out and released it. "It must be the problem of this spirit. It seems to be several levels higher than the others and doesn't seem to obey my orders."

Liu Muze sighed and said, "I'm a little tired from catching spirits these days. I'm going to go back and get some sleep."

"Brother Liu..." Ye Jing'an pursed his lips, holding back what he was about to say. What could he say? Even if he did, what would be the point? It would only cause Brother Liu more trouble.

"Is there anything else? Don't bother me if there's nothing else." Liu Muzhe said.

"I'm sorry about what happened a few days ago. It was indeed a bit too much." Ye Jing'an said apologetically.

Liu Muze was silent for a while before saying, "You're really trying hard to get revenge on me. Don't take advantage of your young age to bully me. If you do that again, I'll really hit you!"

"I didn't bully you. It was you who called my sister to complain. Look, you hit me." Ye Jing'an whispered, "Who knew that if I touched you, your face would turn red like that..."

"I just blush easily, so don't bother me!" Liu Muzhe said embarrassedly.

"Okay, okay, I won't bother you. Go back to sleep." Ye Jing'an chuckled.
