Ye Jingan came back with breakfast in his hands, walked into the ward with a smile and said, "Have breakfast."

"How long did you sleep last night?" Liu Muzhe felt both amused and distressed when he saw the dark circles under his eyes, and poured him a glass of warm water.

Ye Jingan paused and said, "About five or six hours."

Liu Muze chuckled and didn't ask any more questions. He handed the egg custard and hot milk to Xi Yaxuan and said, "Eat something."

"Thank you." After a night's sleep, Xi Yaxuan's complexion looked much better and her mental state was much more stable. It looked like she could be discharged from the hospital after staying for another day.

Qiu Zimu came over with breakfast and saw that the three of them had already eaten. He smiled and said, "You guys are here quite early. The breakfast I just bought might be a bit redundant."

"Everyone eat more, so nothing will be wasted." Ye Jing'an invited him to sit down and eat together, and then sent a message to Wu Yuling, telling her what happened last night.

Wu Yuling and Xi Yaxuan's class teacher rushed to the hospital. When Xi Yaxuan saw the two of them, her expression became very unnatural, and she lowered her head and hid behind Ye Jingan.

"Yaxuan, how are you?" the head teacher said anxiously, "I'll call your mother."

"Teacher! Please don't tell her." Xi Yaxuan grabbed her hand.

The head teacher sighed.

"Don't get excited. We won't tell her. We're here to see you and brought you some fruit. Have breakfast first, and I'll peel an apple for you later." Wu Yuling comforted her softly, then glanced at Ye Jingan and the others, motioning them to leave. "I'm so sorry, the security guard didn't check carefully."

"Sister Yuling, what's going on with this girl?" Ye Jing'an asked.

"Xi Yaxuan's situation is a bit special. Teacher Yang, please talk to them about it," said Wu Yuling.

Xi Yaxuan's class teacher told several people her basic situation.

A year ago, Xi Yaxuan's father suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, leaving him half paralyzed. Her mother sold her house to pay for his medical treatment, spending hundreds of thousands of yuan, but he still couldn't be saved.

Life has to go on. The salary in Jixing Town is too low to cover the living expenses of two people. Xi Yaxuan's mother had no choice but to leave her here to study alone while she went to a big economically developed city to work and earn money.

"She's a very sensible child, afraid her mother would worry." The head teacher said, "She's a boarding student, and it's my fault for neglecting to ask her where she's staying at night, as I've been so busy with work lately."

"Teacher Yang, don't blame yourself. We all know that you are responsible at work." Wu Yuling said.

"Sister Yuling, Teacher Yang, you guys go ahead and do your work. We'll guard this place." Ye Jing'an said, "Check it out tonight. Don't let any students stay in the school. It's very dangerous."

"Okay, thank you for your help. I will come as soon as the school is over." Wu Yuling and Teacher Yang comforted Xi Yaxuan for a while before leaving.

The three of them didn't know what to say when facing a girl. The atmosphere was a bit awkward. Liu Muzhe pushed Ye Jing'an forward.

"I almost forgot to introduce myself to you. My name is Ye Jing'an, this is Brother Liu, and that idiot is Qiu Zimu." Ye Jing'an said, "I heard a lot of things happened in the school. Do you know anything about it?"

Xi Yaxuan nodded and said, "Thank you. I know many people have died in the school. My friend's sister hanged herself on the camphor tree in front of the laboratory building."

"Why did he die?"

"I'm not sure about that. My friend said he was killed by a ghost."

"Where's your friend?"

"She was my elementary school classmate. After my sister got into trouble, she went to study in another city and we haven't been in touch since."

Ye Jing'an felt helpless. He couldn't catch the corpse, and he had no idea what had happened in the school. Even the new principal, Wu Yuling, was unaware of what had happened. His eyes ached, and his head felt dizzy. He sat in a chair, rubbing his eyes, and wondering where he could find out about the school's past.

"Go back and get some sleep." Liu Muzhe said.

"I'm not sleepy." Ye Jing'an shook his head.

"Brother Liu, you are too biased. Why did you call him and not me?" Qiu Zimu said.

"Ah?" Liu Muze said with a sullen laugh, "Then why don't you go back and get some sleep too?"

"I'm not sleepy." Qiu Zimu smiled.

"Tsk, Mr. Qiu, can you please stop looking for trouble?" Ye Jing'an wanted to slap him again, but he didn't sleep much yesterday, so he didn't have the strength and didn't want to move. He just wanted to lie down and rest.

He had always had a good sleep quality, and he had been able to fall asleep sitting up last night, but he couldn't stand Brother Liu sleeping next to him. It hadn't been long since he closed his eyes when Liu Muze fell asleep. Ye Jing'an moved so that Liu Muze's head rested on his legs. Less than half an hour after adjusting to a comfortable position, Liu Muze moved again, rolling over and putting his face close to Ye Jing'an, and even put his arm around his waist.

Ye Jing'an couldn't sleep at all now. Brother Liu usually kept a distance from everyone and didn't like others touching him, so it was even more impossible for him to flirt with others and hug them. But now he actually took the initiative to hug him.

The few times Brother Liu held him in my memory, it was because he had no choice but to do so in order to save him. The only time he held me to sleep was when he begged for it. Obviously, Brother Liu wasn't very willing, and he probably pulled his hand away as soon as he fell asleep. It was rare for Brother Liu to hold someone on his own initiative.

The hospital was chilly at night. Ye Jing'an guessed that Brother Liu was half asleep, and that he was warm, so he unconsciously leaned over. He pressed his clothes to prevent any draft from getting in, and put his hand on Liu Muze's back to hug him tighter.

Ye Jingan's eyes were extremely tired, but he couldn't bear to sleep. He just wanted to hug Brother Liu a little longer and look at him more.

"Hey, Brother Liu, there's something written on his face. What are you looking at?" Qiu Zimu poked him in the shoulder. "What were you doing last night?"

Coming back to his senses, Ye Jingan saw Liu Muze staring at him with a faint smile, and he felt a little uneasy. Then he thought, it was Brother Liu who took the initiative to fall on him, so he couldn't blame him. Ye Jingan said nonchalantly: "I had a dream last night. In the dream, I was chased and bitten by a dead baby, and that guy surnamed Liu was standing next to me, laughing at me."

Liu Muze raised his eyebrows slightly and said with a smile: "Go back and catch up on your sleep. The corpse baby will come after you again tonight."

"Can you stop talking?" Ye Jing'an rolled his eyes and walked out of the ward. In his heart, he sighed that Brother Liu was still a good boy when he was asleep. Whenever this guy surnamed Liu was awake, his little mouth would chatter and he was so annoying no matter how he looked at him.

Xi Yaxuan sat for a while, felt dizzy, and lay down on her side.

Liu Muze glanced at the needle-sized wound in the middle of her neck and frowned. He asked, "Did anyone come here yesterday?"

"A nurse should have come, but I fell asleep and didn't know what happened," said Xi Yaxuan.

Liu Muze was silent for a while and said to Qiu Zimu: "You stay here with her, I have something to do."

"Okay, Brother Liu, you go ahead and get busy." Qiu Zimu said.

Liu Muze arrived at Jiying No. 1 Middle School, a suburban school with a large nature reserve behind it. The area had a warm, humid climate and was home to tall, dense, broad-leaved trees. Every 500 meters around the reserve, there were signs warning of wildlife.

He ignored it and walked deeper into the reserve. The trees grew taller and taller the further he went. Various green mosses grew on the trunks, covered with a thin layer of moisture. Small, unknown insects scurried about. Occasionally, a few beams of sunlight filtered through the dense foliage, hitting the leaf-strewn ground and bringing a touch of warmth to the cool, quiet forest.

Deep in the protected area, there was no cell phone signal. Liu Muzhe smiled helplessly. If Ye Jingan woke up and couldn't get through on the phone, he would have to listen to him nagging for a long time.

After walking for nearly two hours, they came across a large warning sign hanging on the trunk of a sycamore tree, stating that it was forbidden to enter the core area. Liu Muze looked at the thick layer of humus piled on the ground in front of him and was reluctant to go in. He shouted, "I know you are here. Come out."

Liu Muzhe waited for five minutes but got no response, so he had to frown and walk in.

Half an hour later, a large banyan tree came into view. From a distance, it looked as if a multitude of white butterflies were swarming around its branches, neither flapping their wings nor shifting their positions, as if bound by something, their wings spread out, frozen in mid-air.

It was a bit far away, and Liu Muze couldn't see clearly. He quickened his pace and walked towards the banyan tree. When he got closer, he found that it was not a white butterfly, but the sphenoid bones of human heads, hanging from the banyan tree with black ropes. Liu Muze took a quick look and saw at least thirty people.

He circled the banyan tree and saw a small transparent glass bottle hanging from a black rope. It was half filled with blood, with a small hair tied to the neck of the bottle. Liu Muze picked up the glass bottle and took a look. Just as he was about to untie it, he heard a woman's laughter from behind him.

"It's not polite to touch other people's things casually." Her voice was ethereal and clear, and her tone was soft, with a hint of charm and affection in the softness.

Liu Muze looked in the direction of the voice, but saw no one. He paid no attention and continued to untie the rope. Suddenly, he felt someone stroke his hair. Liu Muze turned away in displeasure, but his hand was covered by someone else. He pulled his hand back and saw a woman in a long black dress standing in front of him.

The woman looked dignified, but revealed an indescribable charm. Her every frown and smile was full of charm, and she seemed to be seducing men all the time.

Liu Muze thought he'd just run into a frivolous female thug who'd immediately started groping him. Why do both men and women seem to be so prone to physical contact these days?! He was a bit troubled. Female thugs were much more troublesome than male thugs. They couldn't even use their fists and feet in a fight, so he had to be more accommodating.

The woman looked at Liu Muze's helpless and disgusted expression, chuckled and said: "What's with that expression? Am I not pretty enough?"

"I don't have time to talk nonsense with you. Why do you want revenge?" Liu Muzhe said.

"You're such an unkind person. When I saw him in my dream last night, you were obviously very happy. Why didn't you say thank you to me?" The woman moved closer and reached out to touch his face. "You're very loyal, but it's a pity that you like men."

Liu Muze took two steps back to avoid it, and said in an unhappy tone: "The incense is quite powerful. Have you seen enough of my memories?"

"What good is that damn man? He lied to you and left you alone to suffer." The woman chuckled, "Why don't you help me get revenge? I'll stay with you forever."
