Chapter 18 This Male Lead is Really Hard to Kill (18) I'm Going to Escape! ...
"What did you say?!" Fu Li's heart skipped a beat, as if he had heard something he couldn't understand.
The young man, however, was unwilling to say more, and looked at him with complicated eyes.
Fu Li wasn't about to let him leave. She strode forward and grabbed the young man's sleeve, her eyes flashing with a cold, piercing gaze. "You're not leaving until you've explained yourself!"
The man instinctively tried to pull his hand away, but his movement was too large, and the hand brushed across Fu Li's chest, tearing open the already loosely fastened front of her shirt, revealing snow-white skin that smelled of medicine and two rosy nipples. A little further down, one could glimpse the smooth and well-defined muscle lines, which made him pause slightly.
She quickly broke free from her restraints and took a few steps back, her eyes revealing a strange glint.
Facing the man's burning gaze, he could only say, "I'm sorry, I really can't say. Shao Ye has placed a silencing spell on everyone in the palace. You can't leave Yaohua Palace."
Before Fu Li could ask any more questions, he turned and walked towards the crane. Before leaving, he turned back and gave Fu Li a once-over with his dark eyes, lingering especially on Fu Li's fair and rosy chest, and added:
"Also, you'd better stop seducing people, or Shao Ye will go even crazier."
Fu Li was stunned for a moment upon hearing this, then flew into a rage: "Who the hell are you saying seduce people randomly?!"
However, the other party did not give him any further questions and rode away on the crane again.
Fu Li was left standing there, seething with resentment: "How rude! Are all the people in this Immortal Palace out of their minds!"
Despite his criticism, Fu Li didn't entirely believe what he said.
How else could he have gotten there besides ascension? What could an ordinary little immortal servant know? He must have deliberately come to disturb his Dao heart.
Besides, he is the only one in the entire cultivation world who is closest to ascension. How could anyone else possibly get there first?
However, no matter how powerful Fu Li was in the cultivation world in the past, and how respected he was by thousands, now that he has reached the top, he has to accept the reality that there are always people more powerful than him, and that he is at the mercy of others.
However, it would be absolutely impossible for the Demon Lord Fu Li, who has an extremely strong sense of self-respect, to simply accept his fate or submit to that hypocritical and treacherous Shao Ye Immortal Venerable.
As a powerful and influential figure who dominated the cultivation world, how could Feng Fuli be the kind of person who would remain subservient to others for a long time?
The most important thing right now is to find a way to restore my magic power as soon as possible.
After a moment's thought, Fu Li lifted his foot and continued walking towards the unexplored areas of the Immortal Palace.
Although he was essentially in a state of having no cultivation, he could still sense the density of spiritual energy. So he kept searching in the direction where the spiritual energy was most concentrated, and after walking for an unknown amount of time, he came to a place that looked like a vegetable garden.
Many spiritual herbs and fruits were planted here, and Fu Li was overjoyed—he had found Shao Ye's spiritual field.
The immortal's spiritual fields naturally contain far more treasures than those in the mortal realm. Fu Li strolled leisurely through them, and soon discovered many rare herbs that had long since disappeared from the cultivation world, which would greatly benefit his cultivation progress.
However, what puzzled him most was a small rose bush growing at the edge of the spirit field. It didn't look special, but it was deliberately shielded by a glass cover, seemingly to keep the fertilizer and spiritual energy in the spirit field out.
It's puzzling that they want to plant it, yet they won't let it receive nourishment from the spirits.
Just as Fu Li was frowning and examining the flower with great interest, a clear voice suddenly came from behind her: "Ah Li, what are you doing here?"
Fu Li subconsciously turned around, only to see a gentle and warm face smiling at him, not knowing when the person had arrived.
He immediately became alert and stepped back. "Why are you back?"
Shao Ye's smile was bright and gentle, like a breeze in March, but upon closer inspection, his eyes were deep and dark, giving people a sense of unfathomable depth.
"Of course I missed Ali, that's why I rushed back."
Fu Li felt a chill run down her spine from his cheesy words, took a step back, and said firmly, "I have no interest in men. Why do you have to make things difficult for a junior like me who has just ascended to immortality? If word gets out, it will only harm your reputation as an immortal. Besides, my identity in the lower realm is that of the Demon Lord. We are on different paths and cannot work together."
Shao Ye laughed after hearing this: "My age is not necessarily older than Ali's." Then, his eyes darkened slightly, and he added: "Besides, how does Ali know that our paths are different?"
As he spoke, he raised his hand and unleashed a burst of demonic energy. The black light seemed capable of piercing through space, but it was instantly swallowed up by the immortal energy in the spiritual field.
Fu Li was dumbfounded. He was quite certain that when they first met, Shao Ye had used pure immortal magic in front of him.
"You, you cultivate both immortality and demonic power!"
Shao Ye nodded.
Fu Li was even more furious, "Didn't you say you were born with immortal bones?"
The man gently stroked his chin and said, "That's true, but there was a slight mishap."
He ended the conversation and asked Fu Li, "What are you doing looking at this flower here, Ali?"
Fu Li turned to look at the rose bush, shrugged, and said, "It's nothing, I just find it strange. Since you planted it here, why did you set up a barrier to prevent it from absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth? Isn't that a contradiction?"
Shao Ye's eyes darkened slightly as he looked at the rose bush, a gloomy and fierce glint flashing in his eyes. He said in a calm tone, "It's just its choice."
Fu Li curled his lip. What choice could a flower possibly have? In his opinion, this man was clearly a control freak and a sadist, actually taking pleasure in torturing a flower.
Unbeknownst to him, as he gazed intently at the flower as if mesmerized, the smile on Shao Ye's face vanished completely, leaving only a dark and unfathomable glint in his eyes.
“Since Ali doesn’t want to wait for me in the inner hall, I suppose she prefers to stay here. Indeed, the flowers and plants here are fragrant, and the scenery is elegant, just right for doing something interesting.” The more he spoke, the deeper and more hoarse his voice became.
"Wait! Wait a minute, don't...!"
Shao Ye let out a satisfied sigh and said coldly, "Too late!"
When the retreat was called, an afternoon had already passed.
The fiery sunset had faded, and the celestial night was a curtain of stars, with occasional shooting stars bringing news from all directions and regions.
Fu Li leaned wearily against Shao Ye's chest, too exhausted to even lift his eyelids. He could only let the tall man behind him casually play with his long, jade-like fingers.
As the cool night breeze blew, their movements gradually became more intimate, with him continuously channeling his immortal energy to keep the person in his arms warm.
After an unknown amount of time, Shao Ye glanced at the glass dome one last time. His dim and deep eyes became much clearer, yet there was a clear hint of mockery in them. Then, he picked up the person in his arms and transformed into a wisp of wind, flying back to the inner palace.
The wind stopped blowing, but the small flowering tree, encased in the glass dome, trembled slightly.
When Shao Ye was not around, Fu Li could move around freely throughout Yaohua Palace.
There were many celestial attendants in the palace, but none of them could speak to Fu Li. This was because Shao Ye had instructed them that no one was allowed to speak to Fu Li when he was not around.
They only acted quickly when Fu Li gave them instructions. Every day, they would prepare some celestial fruits and pastries for the inner palace. Although eating them was useless for cultivation and their meridians remained empty of spiritual energy, they could only satisfy their cravings. But it truly lived up to Shao Ye's words, "Being a pampered servant means being served by others."
Feng Fuli was a demon lord in the lower realm, but he didn't come up here to be a favored servant. However, after working for several days without being able to gather any information, he couldn't help but feel a little frustrated.
But Shao Ye spent more time in the palace than away. As long as he was there, Fu Li almost never got out of bed.
At times like these, Fu Li felt an intense hatred for Shao Ye, and also for her own body, which had become increasingly sensitive and easily controlled due to the allure of the Enchanting Flower.
As this continued, he grew increasingly afraid that one day he would completely succumb to the power of men, abandon his dignity, and forget his own name.
This is absolutely unacceptable! I cannot accept it!
We must escape!
Fu Li woke up again, her body aching all over. There was no one on the bed beside her. In the past, this meant that Shao Ye had been summoned to the Thirty-Third Heaven for a meeting and was not in the palace for the time being.
After waiting for many days, he finally got a perfect opportunity to make his escape! Now was the perfect time to run!
Fu Li immediately sat up in bed, enduring the soreness in his body, and ran to a secluded spot in the inner hall. He pulled out a stack of talismans from under a cabinet—talismans he had painstakingly collected from various parts of Yaohua Palace over the past few days.
He had been worried that the talisman might harm him, but after countless experiences of madness, confusion, and torment, he was determined to find a way to recover some of his magical power and escape this hellish place!
With a do-or-die determination, Fu Li reached out for the first immortal talisman.
Regardless of their intended use, these talismans contain immense magical power. If one can absorb even a small amount and harness it for their own benefit, there is a chance of success.
However, when he closed his eyes, concentrated his mind, and began to circulate his energy to absorb it, he found that, just like at the beginning, the spiritual energy was blocked outside his body by something like a barrier, and could not enter his meridians at all.
Fu Li refused to give up and continued to reach for the next card.
After many attempts, finally, a very tiny crack appeared somewhere in the barrier, allowing a little spiritual energy to be absorbed into the meridians.
He extended his divine sense to examine the crack, his brow slowly furrowing. Only then did he realize that this was not the power of the laws of the upper realm, but an ancient seal that almost completely enveloped his entire sea of consciousness and dantian. Moreover, it had existed for a very long time, almost becoming one with him, which was why he hadn't noticed it for so long.
A storm raged in Fu Li's heart—who did this? When did the seal come into existence? Why didn't he know anything about it?!
Countless terrifying possibilities flashed through his mind, and a chilling dread crept up his spine. But he had no time to think further; nothing was more important than escaping this place of trouble.
After using up all the talismans, spiritual energy entered Fu Li's meridians through the only gap in the seal. Although it was only a little bit, it was enough for Fu Li.
He immediately tried to create an invisibility spell, but because he hadn't used it for so long, his spiritual energy surged into his sea of consciousness and accidentally touched a spell mark that had long been forgotten in a corner.
