Chapter 379 Cheer Up
What the hell?
Isn’t it this pot of fish that caused the trouble?
Xiang Nuan let out a long sigh and wiped the tears from her eyes. Oh my god, she would never cook easily again.
"It's getting late, let's go back." Uncle Huo suddenly said.
Jiang Ranran wanted to protest, but Uncle Huo killed her with a look: "Mom is not feeling well. She hasn't eaten much these days and is too weak. She needs to rest."
"It's okay, Uncle Huo, if Ranran wants to play, just..."
"no!"
Uncle Huo's sudden harshness silenced the mother and daughter. They looked at each other and chose to obey obediently.
"Let's go back and have a seafood dinner?" Jiang Ranran blinked her big eyes, trying to "settle for second best."
"Seafood..." Xiang Nuan frowned. With the psychological shadow of this pot of fish soup, seafood should be forgotten? But when she saw Jiang Ranran's eager eyes, she smiled and said, "It sounds good. Let's go?"
"It's better to go back and drink porridge." Uncle Huo said with a gloomy face.
Jiang Ranran was not willing to give in this time. Why was Grandpa so strict all of a sudden? You have to eat to keep healthy. You can't just eat randomly!
"Let's go, Uncle Huo. Ranran has been bored at home for several days. Let him change his diet." Xiang Nuan also begged.
"Your body is so weak, you've walked for so long and vomited, go back and lie down properly."
Xiang Nuan was stunned. She knew Uncle Huo was worried about her but she didn't expect that he would be so fussy.
"I'm not that delicate, Uncle Huo!" She laughed, took Ranran's hand and set off.
"Hey..." Uncle Huo wanted to shout but couldn't, so he could only sigh. This silly girl, she still doesn't understand what's going on! He quickly followed her in two steps, carefully protecting her.
Dinner went smoothly. Xiang Nuan didn't eat much, but fortunately she didn't feel sick again. Until the end, Jiang Ranran suddenly had a sudden idea and insisted on having another bowl of fish soup to relieve his pain. As a result, things got out of control again...
Jiang Ranran's face turned pale with fear, and she looked at Xiang Nuan in panic. The restaurant manager was also panicked, and even thought about how to deal with the online violence.
"I'm so sorry to trouble you." Xiang Nuan said weakly.
"No, no, no, here you go..." The manager couldn't say it. He didn't dare to let her take anything easily.
"Sorry." Uncle Huo was very calm. He protected Xiang Nuan with one hand and hugged Ran Ran with the other as they left the restaurant, as if nothing had happened.
On the way back, Jiang Ranran's mood, which had been excited for the whole day, fell to the bottom, and he lay listlessly on her legs.
"Are you sick?" he asked cautiously.
"No." Xiang Nuan answered firmly. She could clearly feel her physical condition, and there was absolutely no discomfort. She touched her forehead, her heartbeat, her pulse, and everything was fine. The only thing that made her panic was the fear deep in her mind. It turned out that mental illness was really an illness.
Jiang Ranran hugged her legs tightly and buried her little face in them.
"Are you going to die?"
What? !
Xiang Nuan was stunned, and even Uncle Huo couldn't help but look back. What did Jiang Ranran say? !
She cleared her mind, tried to catch his emotions, and then said in a funny voice: "Have you ever seen someone die from drinking fish soup?"
Jiang Ranran was amused. Although he didn't laugh out loud or raise his head, Xiang Nuan could feel the ups and downs of his small body.
She stroked his back gently like petting a kitten, and suddenly suggested, "How about we go buy a fish tank tomorrow? Buy some beautiful little fish to keep."
Jiang Ranran suddenly raised her little face: "That kind of fish can't be eaten."
"Who mentioned that?!" Xiang Nuan pretended to be surprised, "You haven't eaten it before."
"It's too small, how can I eat it?!" He giggled.
"Fry it and eat it. If you don't believe me, ask grandpa."
Jiang Ranran looked at Uncle Huo seriously. Uncle Huo smiled faintly while driving, and he seemed to be thinking about this problem seriously.
"It's not tasty, there's no meat." He gave the final answer.
The three of them were silent for a second, then burst into laughter. It was as if they had all seen that stupid and funny scene. Even after returning home, Jiang Ranran still couldn't bear to hear the word "fried fish". Once she heard it, she would burst into laughter.
"We've had enough fun today, everyone must take a rest." Uncle Huo gave the order.
Xiang Nuan and Ran Ran looked at each other again, shocked. Grandpa was going to be strict today, so they held hands and "escaped" upstairs through the cracks in the wall like two little mice.
"Have you done your design homework these two days?"
Jiang Ranran nodded and shook her head, and giggled.
"Half an hour, change clothes, take a shower, and gather in the study." She said, tapping the tip of Ranran's nose.
Jiang Ranran turned around and ran. Seeing him jumping around again, Xiang Nuan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She returned to her room, and the fatigue she had suppressed all day suddenly surged up in her head, and she felt even more dizzy. She fell headfirst onto the bed, letting her spirit slowly calm down.
Not really, not really. I just slept and went hungry for a few days. She looked at the ceiling and murmured, "Death is the way home? Bah!"
Half an hour later, she took a fresh shower, changed into comfortable clothes and went downstairs.
"Why don't you take a rest?" Uncle Huo blocked her way at the stairs.
"It's okay, Uncle Huo. Do you still have the almond porridge from this morning? Can you heat up a small bowl for me? Your cooking is still the most delicious."
Uncle Huo knew that she was trying to change the subject, so he sighed softly, his brows full of blame and worry.
"It's really okay," Xiang Nuan gently took Uncle Huo's arm and acted like a daughter, "Did you hear what Ran Ran said just now? He's worried that I'll be bedridden like his mother. Even though he hasn't seen her, it doesn't mean he hasn't been hurt or scared."
"No!" Uncle Huo shouted, his face frighteningly gloomy.
Xiang Nuan was startled, then said with a playful smile: "No way! Bah bah bah, let's live a hundred years together!"
Uncle Huo's expression eased a little, but his face was still solemn.
"I have to cheer up, for Ranran and for myself." Her eyes were curved, which made Uncle Huo feel distressed.
"Is there something on your mind? If you want to talk to someone, I think I'm pretty good at being a quiet listener."
Uncle Huo didn't miss Xiang Nuan's change of expression, but he also noticed her hesitation.
"You can trust me, ma'am."
Xiang Nuan's lips moved slightly, which turned into a soft sigh.
"I believe it, always has."
Uncle Huo looked at her, keenly catching the hesitation and evasion in her eyes. Did she really have something to hide? Was she really hiding her identity for some other purpose? No, he firmly believed in his judgment.
He patted the back of her hand and said slowly, "Don't be too late."
"knew."
"Stop talking and come here!" Jiang Ranran poked his head out of the study impatiently, and Xiang Nuan immediately put on a bright smile and went to greet him...
