Chapter 382 Back to the Starting Point
"You speak first." They said in unison.
"Please say what you just said again." Xiang Nuan calmed down first. She vaguely realized that things might have gone in another direction.
"Tell me first what you are afraid of and what you are avoiding?" Jiang Yunhui did not lose his mind this time. Although he was heartbroken, he also knew that some issues could not be avoided and had to be made clear.
"Even if you don't want a child, you can just say it. Why did you make yourself like this?" Jiang Yunhui wanted to hug her tightly, regardless of the reason or right or wrong, and just hug this frightened and injured person tightly. But he gritted his teeth and held back.
"What child?" Xiang Nuan was completely confused.
"You..." It seemed that she really didn't realize it. Jiang Yunhui's heart was broken when he thought that she was pregnant and still tormented like this. "You really don't feel anything?"
Xiang Nuan stared at Jiang Yunhui blankly: "I don't understand what you are talking about? Are you talking about Ranran? You..."
Jiang Yunhui grabbed her shoulders and felt her weakness: "These days you have been sleepy, have a poor appetite, and feel nauseous and vomit... Come on, you are a girl."
Oh my god! Xiang Nuan's brain buzzed! She was completely stunned! She touched her lower abdomen woodenly, trying to feel if there was anything different.
This is a mess. The marriage issue has not been resolved yet! Where did a child come from? !
"So..." Her mouth was dry and she couldn't say a word: "So the reason you rushed back overnight was..."
"Uncle Huo is not feeling well after all, and you are so stupid that you don't know how to take care of yourself. Of course I have to take you to check to make sure. Even if it's not the case, you still need to go to the hospital for a thorough checkup since you have been feeling unwell for so many days."
Xiang Nuan's hands had been stroking her lower abdomen. She recalled her reactions over the past two days bit by bit and gradually came back to her senses.
"Impossible..." she muttered to herself, no longer caring what Jiang Yunhui was saying.
She couldn't have a child. Yu Xin never said that the happy ending was to have another child. How could she not get married if she had a child? With a child...
She stood up suddenly and looked at Jiang Yunhui as if he were a stranger. She couldn't disappear if she had a child, otherwise what would happen to the child?
She suddenly lost her temper again and fell back into the chair in a daze. Didn't Jiang Ranran have no mother? Could it be that Wanqing also traveled back through time? She just traveled back through time and left Jiang Ranran behind... She would also leave a child behind when she traveled back through time, and then a new person would come and leave another child behind when she traveled back through time...
She was really obsessed and her thoughts were out of control.
"Nuan'er? Xiang Nuan!" Jiang Yunhui called her back with an angry roar: "What are you thinking about? What's wrong with you?!"
"Let's go to the hospital," she said firmly.
"Let's go home first."
"No, let's go to the hospital now." Xiang Nuan pulled Jiang Yunhui and was about to leave, but found that he was standing there motionless.
"Let's go?"
"The hospital is closed. If you want to go, you have to wait until tomorrow."
Xiang Nuan then realized that it was already dark and she had been running out all day.
"Pregnancy test stick, the pharmacy must be open." She turned and was about to leave, but was stopped by Jiang Yunhui.
"Get in the car, I'll go buy it."
"I'll go..."
“Get in the car!”
Jiang Yunhui roared fiercely, frightening Xiang Nuan. He decided that he could no longer let her do what she wanted. He put away all his tenderness and locked her in the car without saying anything. They were silent all the way from the pharmacy to the home.
Xiang Nuan knew that she owed him an explanation, but she couldn't figure it out, so how could she know where to start?
"Back?!" Uncle Huo and Ran Ran watched Jiang Yunhui drag Xiang Nuan back home like a fugitive, and just as they were about to ask about it, they realized that the atmosphere between the two was not right. Especially Xiang Nuan, it was simply horrible.
"I'll take her upstairs to wash and change clothes first. Please prepare some simple dinner." Jiang Yunhui told Uncle Huo, but he didn't stop and pulled Xiang Nuan upstairs. Jiang Ranran hid behind Uncle Huo, only daring to show a little eye to peek.
"Did they quarrel?" he asked timidly.
"No, they just have some things that need to be made clear." Uncle Huo patted Ranran's shoulder to comfort him.
"Will she go away like she did last time?"
Uncle Huo couldn't answer, so he could only stroke his back again and again.
"Can I trust you this time?" Jiang Yunhui pulled Xiang Nuan into the room. He didn't want to become a tyrant out of fear, but he really couldn't bear the situation where she ran away again.
Xiang Nuan nodded, she was exhausted.
“I have nowhere to go.”
Jiang Yunhui's eyes almost turned red. He didn't dare to think about the logic behind this. She stayed here because she had nowhere else to go, not because she loved him and couldn't leave him.
"Change your clothes and take a shower. You know how to use this thing, right?" He handed her the pregnancy test stick.
Xiang Nuan took it, as if she was taking a fortune stick from a temple, on which was written her own destiny and future.
"Can you wait here for me?" Her eyes were full of pleading.
Jiang Yunhui sighed softly and nodded gently.
He watched Xiang Nuan walk into the bathroom and heard the sound of water splashing inside. Only then did he let out the breath that had been held in his throat for the entire day.
He didn't notice the tears streaming down his cheeks, nor did he notice his hands shaking. He only knew that at this moment he was glad that he didn't lose her.
Twenty minutes later, Xiang Nuan came out wrapped in a bath towel with wet hair, holding the pregnancy test stick in her hand, and walked towards Jiang Yunhui helplessly and pitifully.
Jiang Yunhui stood up nervously, not knowing whether to catch the small test paper first or help her dry her hair.
Xiang Nuan looked at him. At this moment, he looked even more miserable than herself, with a tired face and disheveled clothes. He had not relaxed since he got off the plane and entered the gate. He needed rest more than herself.
Xiang Nuan walked silently to his side, hugged his waist, and gently leaned against his chest. Jiang Yunhui's heart tightened but his body softened, and the heart that wanted to hold on collapsed in an instant.
"It's okay, it's okay." Jiang Yunhui stroked her back gently, as if he was speaking to her and himself.
"Nothing." Xiang Nuan showed him the pregnancy test stick. There was only a red line on it, but Jiang Yunhui suspected that there was always a faint red line, perhaps too light to be seen by the naked eye.
"Let's go to the hospital early tomorrow morning. The doctor will be able to see more accurately." Xiang Nuan said gently but firmly.
"I'm not concerned about the child. This is all God's will." Jiang Yunhui said softly, "I want to know what happened. What's wrong with you?"
Xiang Nuan hugged him tighter and buried his face deeper.
"You won't believe this." She thought she wouldn't cry, but her voice trembled when she spoke.
"I believe everything you say."
Xiang Nuan shook her head. Unconditional trust at this time would only make her feel more heartbroken.
"You won't leave me, right?" Jiang Yunhui suddenly held her face in his hands. This was the first thing he needed to confirm. But this question was the most fatal. Xiang Nuan couldn't answer because she was asking herself the same question over and over again.
"I don't want to leave you, I can't leave you, but I don't know if the result will be..."
"What are you talking about?!"
Jiang Yunhui pushed her away and took several steps back. The question came back again. They always returned to the starting point and kept arguing over this issue.
"Let's go, call Uncle Huo, and we'll talk it out together."
Xiang Nuan held Jiang Yunhui's hand, but found that his fingers were cold, without a trace of warmth...
