Chapter 405: Muscle Memory
No one knows how the transition from party to work was so smooth, but everyone just drank champagne, listened to music and started their own busy work.
Jiang Ranran held his chin with one hand and covered his eyes with the other. It was really unbearable to watch. But compared to the boring dance, he preferred the feeling of working.
"It's 12 o'clock, we'll stop here today!" It was Elena who stopped them. Even if she had many ideas to share with Xiang Nuan, she could still use work as an excuse. Besides, there were "patients" and she couldn't let them work endlessly.
"Right away, just the last bit..."
Just as Lucas was about to fight for it again, he was blocked by a sweet kiss. Elena was so affectionate and devoted that Xiang Nuan and Jiang Yunhui both lowered their heads.
Jiang Yunhui secretly glanced at Xiang Nuan, and her shyness was fully visible, especially her rosy cheeks, which were slightly drunk by alcohol, and looked more like peach blossoms in the spring rain.
"Oh, honey," Lucas was perfectly won over by the sweet attack, shrugged and said to the two of them, "My wife is the most important thing in the world, so, see you tomorrow."
Jiang Yunhui held Xiang Nuan's hand and said with a smile, "See you tomorrow."
He took her shoulder and led her out of the study.
"Ranran..." Xiang Nuan felt a little flustered.
"Ranran is with Uncle Huo and should be asleep now." Jiang Yunhui said with a smile.
Xiang Nuan didn't know what else to say, so she could only follow him upstairs to her room silently.
Jiang Yunhui was surprisingly quiet, cleaning up, washing, and making the bed... It was not until he picked up the quilt and pillow and placed them on Jiang Ranran's little nest that Xiang Nuan couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Can you sleep in such a small place?" Xiang Nuan looked at him with a smile and took the quilt from his hand.
"Hmm... bend your legs, it's barely OK..."
Xiang Nuan couldn't figure out the situation for a moment. Did his memory not return and he forgot that they were already together, or did he still have some grudges in his heart and hadn't decided whether to continue?
"I'll sleep outside and you sleep in the big bed. You are the patient," she said.
"How can that be? You are a woman."
"Shut up, no discussion, go to sleep."
Xiang Nuan didn't allow Jiang Yunhui any chance to be "pretentious". She quickly spread a bed on the floor, lay down, turned off the lights, and did it all in one go.
Jiang Yunhui sat on the edge of the bed in a daze, lost in the light of the bedside lamp.
"Something must be wrong," he muttered softly.
There was no response, everything was quiet. He sighed softly, staring at the small figure in the corner, and fell into deep thought.
His mind was completely blank, not even a hint of something flashing through his mind. But he was not stupid, and could sense the stirrings of emotion in the silence.
Alas, Uncle Huo told him so much, but he didn't tell him how to deal with this situation.
"It's okay, don't make things difficult for yourself." Suddenly a weak voice was heard, and Xiang Nuan turned over, making a slight breathing sound.
Difficult?
Jiang Yunhui frowned slightly. What kind of difficulty did she mean? Was it difficult to be with her? Or was it difficult not to be with her?
Sigh… He lay back on the bed and closed his eyes.
He woke up very early the next day, or rather, he did not sleep well the previous night. In his dreams, he always came to a fork in the road, and no matter how he turned around, he would always return to that fork in the road. Turning left or right seemed to determine his fate, but he never made the right choice.
He was so tired. He woke up dragging his exhausted body after traveling thousands of miles, and he was the only one in the room.
"Good morning!" Lucas greeted him downstairs.
"Morning," he responded as he walked downstairs, "Where's everyone?"
"They've gone to the studio."
Jiang Yunhui was still a little confused: "So early? What time is it?"
"It's not even 9 o'clock yet. Would you like a cup of black coffee to wake you up? We have to start work after breakfast."
Uncle Huo handed him the coffee, and the rich aroma gave him some life force.
"Did she say anything?" he asked, glancing at Uncle Huo.
"Be safe and have fun at work." Uncle Huo responded calmly.
Jiang Yunhui almost rolled his eyes. What a perfunctory sentence. What about being in love so deeply that one can’t control oneself? Are you sure you’re not mistaken?
"What is our mission today?"
"Prepare for the final episode. If everything goes well, it will be aired this weekend."
Jiang Yunhui nodded. They had already talked a lot about the program. Not to mention amnesia, even the newcomers who had just joined could keep up with the pace.
"Then Uncle Huo..."
"I'm with you. Madam specifically told me to do that."
"If I remember correctly, you told me you were mine."
Jiang Yunhui's eyes actually had a hint of rebellion and provocation. Uncle Huo just looked at him and responded calmly: "So I'm with you."
Alas! Jiang Yunhui picked up the coffee and drank it all.
Only when he entered the production team did Jiang Yunhui realize what shock was. Not to mention the room full of equipment, various props, and stage lights, even the scene of everyone gathering at the door and clapping and cheering the moment they saw him was shocking enough.
Everyone warmly hugged him, greeted him, and shook his hand, and he finally realized that he was part of this show.
"The main process is still going on as planned," Lucas gathered the team and talked about the plan, "but the factor that must be taken into consideration now is the Yunhui accident. It will definitely attract a lot of attention, and it will be a lot of attention. Instead of passively waiting for others to ask questions, why don't we take the initiative to take advantage of it."
“Won’t it be accused of hype?” someone raised an objection.
"Avoiding the discussion would make us seem less than upright," Jiang Yunhui responded.
"Are you...OK? If we make a fuss about this accident. I mean, use it as material and incorporate it into the work." The contestant also asked.
"If you don't use the material that fell from the sky, you'd be a fool."
Jiang Yunhui's frankness impressed everyone. Not only did he come back, he was in better shape and in a brand new state. Everyone's worries instantly vanished.
Lucas also secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He knew that Jiang Yunhui's memory had not returned, at least not completely. During the discussion, he knew that he was not "remembering" but "learning" from scratch, which made him sweat. But he didn't expect him to enter the role so smoothly. This must be a talent, which is the result of years of professional training.
Jiang Yunhui was discussing with everyone while looking around. Is this where the accident happened? Why can't he remember anything?
"Not here, the stage is somewhere else." Lucas patted his shoulder, seeing his confusion. "But now it has been completely repaired and rebuilt, and it's not quite the same as the original layout, so it may not be of much help to you."
“But I still feel very close to it.”
"What?"
"These wires and machines," Jiang Yunhui stroked a camera, "I don't even need to think about how to operate this big thing. Isn't it amazing?"
“Your body recognized it before your brain did,” Lucas laughed.
Jiang Yunhui's heart suddenly moved. Was it his body's intuition? Then was his desire to get closer to her also an instinctive reaction of his muscles? He always warned himself not to cross the line without understanding the situation, but every time he saw her, he couldn't help but want to get closer, closer...
If your brain goes on strike, your body will use its muscle memory to lead you out of the siege, right?
