Chapter 8 Encountering a Drunk Cat
The little girl's face was filled with unconcealable frustration and sadness. Her eyes were red, but she was trying hard to hold back tears. Whenever she was about to cry, she would look up at the sky, but it was so dark that not even a star could be seen...
After Su Yunci came out from his parents' place, he did not go home immediately, but walked here slowly by himself, keeping his thoughts secret.
The snack street is at the entrance of the alley, and it is dim. The stall owners only hang a small lamp on the shelf. The barbecue owners are more convenient and rely directly on charcoal fire for light.
Although the environment is not good, it is still bustling and lively.
The barbecue owner was shouting and calling people. A few shirtless men were sitting on a small stall nearby. They held barbecue skewers in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other, shouting and yelling, and their voices could be heard from far away.
Su Yunci wandered in front of the stall. Seeing them drinking and eating meat, he became envious and persuaded himself to indulge himself occasionally.
However, after a quick glance around, she saw that almost all the seats were occupied by either good friends or young couples, and she was the only one who got mixed up, and she was worried that she would attract attention.
Fortunately, she saw an empty table in a small corner. The faint light did not shine there, and its presence was very weak.
Su Yunci made up her mind and timidly walked to the grill, clutching the hem of her skirt, pointing to the only empty table, "Boss, can I sit there?"
"Okay, pretty lady," the boss wiped the sweat off his forehead, grinning from the charcoal fire, "It's just too dark there. How about you share a table with the pretty ladies here?"
“No, no,” Su Yunci shook his head and declined, “It’s fine right there.”
"Okay, what would you like to eat?"
“…”
Su Yunci didn't like meat very much, so he just ordered a few skewers of lamb and the rest were vegetarian dishes, and also asked for two bottles of beer.
I sat in a small corner waiting, and soon all the things I ordered were delivered.
She shuddered as she touched the cold beer, opened it and poured it into the glass, letting the cold smoke drift upwards.
She wasn't much of a drinker, or to be more precise, she'd never tried it before. But people often say drinking helps you forget your sorrows, and today she wanted to see if it really worked...
When Pu Ye came, Su Yunci had already drunk half a bottle of wine, and was quietly drunk. His cheeks were rosy and his hair was messy behind his ears.
Her thin and slender body was leaning against the shadow, and only with her glowing white skin, she looked as beautiful as a bright little moon.
Pu Ye half-opened the car window and followed her every move with his eyes. It seemed that the noise around him was isolated and he could only see the embarrassment of the woman as she struggled to swallow each sip of wine.
He knew he couldn't drink it, but he still had to swallow it with a frown on his face.
"That little girl is quite stubborn..."
Seeing that the two bottles of beer were finally finished, the woman waved and ordered two more bottles.
Pu Ye couldn't stay any longer, his eyes suddenly narrowed, and he immediately got out of the car and strode towards that remote place.
Su Yunci felt dizzy and shook his head from side to side. He picked up peanuts with chopsticks, but couldn't get them into his mouth again and again. He was having a lot of fun by himself.
"Humph, a tiny peanut is going against me!"
"You all bully me..."
The older child couldn't hide his sadness, mumbling incoherently, his straight back slowly bent, and his thin shoulders revealed a pitiful air of being abandoned.
Pu Ye stood behind her and couldn't hear her mumbling clearly, thinking she was talking drunkenly.
He walked around to the front of the group and sat on the other side of the broken table, a bohemian smile on his thin lips, "Teacher Su likes to drink too?"
"?"
Su Yunci opened his dazed eyes and subconsciously protected the peanuts and beer glass in his hands. "If you want to drink, go buy it yourself... Don't steal from me."
After hearing the drunken kid's words, Pu Ye shrugged and laughed, "Is Teacher Su a three-year-old child? Even more childish than that Xiaobao guy?"
"I, I'm twenty-four!"
Su Yunci gestured, his fingers showing "one" and "two", "Go away, don't disturb me while I'm drinking."
Pu Ye turned a deaf ear to him, picked up a peanut and threw it into his mouth, and even went further and took an extra cup to pour himself a glass of wine without his permission.
"I just happen to want to drink too. Teacher Su, can you take me with you?"
“…”
Su Yunci lowered her eyebrows and said nothing. Pu Ye slid the tip of his tongue around her jaw, trying to tease her with a smirk, but then he heard a clicking sound...
The little guy's tears fell onto the table drop by drop as if they were free.
"Hey, you, crying, what are you crying about?"
Pu Ye was flustered. Looking at her crying like a child, a trace of panic appeared in his eyes.
He took a tissue and tried to wipe her face, but he was afraid that people would think he was touching her and that would make her cry even harder. The 1.80-meter-tall tall man had a cold face and was in a dilemma. He held the tissue in his hand and didn't know whether to wipe it or not.
"Isn't it enough for me to apologize? I won't drink your wine. Otherwise, I'll compensate you with ten bottles, okay?"
Su Yunci ignored him. He had been holding back his tears for so long, and now he couldn't control himself and had to let them flow out.
"Woo woo woo...you stole my drink"
"I won't, I won't drink anymore, okay? Stop crying, people will think I'm bullying you."
Pu Ye didn't need to look closely to notice the looks from the people around him, some giggling, some whispering, some talking loudly, which made him, a grown man, feel guilty.
He bent down, squatted beside the woman, and wiped the tears from her cheeks with as gentle strength as possible. "I was wrong. Don't cry. How can you be like this? You wrongly accuse others when you are drunk."
Su Yunci lowered her eyelashes, and after crying for a while, she couldn't stop sobbing and hiccuping from time to time.
It was like an accusation, or perhaps it was just to herself, "You all bullied me, forced me to get married, and forced me to live a life I didn't want to live..."
Pu Ye now understood clearly and figured out the whole story. It turned out that she was forced into marriage just like him.
He turned around and calmly returned to his original position, a smile evident in his tone, "I said, your ambition is only this much, you cry over such a trivial matter?"
Su Yunci's eyes instantly became misty again, and he stared at her with misty eyes, "What do you know?"
"Ancestor, please don't cry."
Pu Yegan spoke, not daring to touch her peanuts and wine. "Of course I understand. I went on three blind dates today. Can you be as miserable as me?"
“…”
Su Yunci sniffed, "Then you must not have been wronged."
"Who wronged you?"
"None of your business"
“Tsk…”
Pu Ye laughed in anger, "If you don't tell me, how can I help you vent your anger?"
Su Yunci bit her lower lip, her tear-stained eyelashes trembling slightly, "How can you help me vent my anger?"
Her father called her last night and told her to go home. She had a bad feeling about it, but she still agreed to go home.
Sure enough, when she got home, Er Laojiu questioned her when she started dating such a low-class playboy. The blind date was so angry that he kept cursing on the phone and even the matchmaker didn't give her a good look.
Su Yunci explained that she was just a student's parent, but her mother sneered and told her to stop lying, and said that she returned to China just to hang out with that man.
Although she explained again and again, even her father's eyes showed disbelief this time.
She was forced to break up with the man completely, and then she was introduced to a blind date so that they could get married as soon as possible to avoid any trouble.
Su Yunci was completely disheartened and left home without even eating. This was when he began to drink to drown his sorrows.
She knew that since she made the decision to return home without authorization, her credibility with her parents had long since dropped to zero.
…
Pu Ye touched his chin awkwardly. After all this time, he was the culprit?
“I don’t want to go on blind dates anymore”
Su Yunci held up his heavy head, his voice soft and gentle, like the night breeze that made him drunk. He said softly, "Instead of going through the ordeal of looking for a marriage partner like going through an interview, it's better to just pick someone up on the street."
Pu Ye stared at her intently, his hands clenched into fists, and he said slowly, "Can you see who I am?"
"you?"
Su Yunci fought against the drunkenness and opened her eyes hazily. That handsome and unruly face appeared before her. "Aren't you the bad guy who caused me to get into trouble?"
Feeling the description wasn't accurate enough, he added, "A filthy scoundrel without clothes!"
"Heh," Pu Ye responded with a smile, "I'm right."
"I was thinking, instead of just looking for someone on the street, why don't you marry me, Teacher Su?"
