The servant told the two to wait in the garden, saying he was going to fetch his master, and then turned and quickly left.
“Waiting in the garden is not the proper way to treat guests,” Shangguan Hongyu said with a smile.
Bian Lang laughed and said, "But this place is perfect for killing someone and burying the body."
As they spoke, a number of burly men carrying weapons appeared around them.
They were all dressed in coarse cloth short shirts, with bulging veins on their foreheads, clearly skilled in martial arts.

"Is that so? Then please find that servant and confront him face to face." The man's tone was extremely calm.
Shangguan Hongyu was too lazy to do any of that. Perhaps the servant had already been hidden away, or perhaps he had already been killed.
Even if we could confront him face to face, he could just deny it to the death.
Such confrontations are meaningless and a waste of time.
Bian Lang waved his hand and said, "There's no need for that. We're here to take away Gong Ruhu's body. As for how he died, we're not interested."
"I already said there's nothing here..." the man said angrily.

“We don’t want to kill anyone, but you two are being too aggressive,” the man sighed.
