Chapter 209 Just a token gesture

Suddenly, a cacophony of voices erupted from the dark area ahead.

The voices were filled with surprise and excitement.

"I didn't expect our multi-headed tribe to be so popular?" Sun Wukong looked quite pleased with himself.

Having walked through the Prison Land many times before, I had never encountered anyone who dared to mess with the Multi-Headed Clan.

This time it's quite interesting to encounter it twice.

Liu Yi drew her sword and asked in a cold voice, "Who's there?"

Before he finished speaking, two foxes emerged from the darkness into the moonlight.

Their fur is dark red and very clean, and their reddish eyes reveal a hint of cunning.

"So they were two fox spirits." Sun Wukong laughed.

The multi-headed tribe has always looked down on monsters, but monsters look down on the multi-headed tribe in return.

Even when faced with the eight-headed Sun Wukong, the two fox spirits remained calm; their courage alone was worthy of praise.

The two fox spirits both smiled but didn't say anything.

Their gazes were clearly fixed on the carcass of the nine-headed monkey.

A nine-headed monkey is definitely more powerful than an eight-headed monkey.

Liu Yi stopped shaking the Soul-Capturing Bell, and the nine-headed monkey's corpse also stopped. She coldly asked, "Do you two intend to seize this corpse?"

“We only want the monkey’s heart,” a fox spirit said with a smile.

Of all the nine-headed monkeys, the heart is what they are most interested in.

They figured Liu Yi would agree to take the heart without damaging the nine-headed monkey's body.

Liu Yi laughed and said, "Any monster that has become greedy is an evil monster and can be killed."

"A demon?"

"Execute?"

The two fox spirits burst into laughter.

However, seeing the long sword in Liu Yi's hand, they dared not be careless, after all, there were many top experts among human cultivators.

Moreover, the eight monkeys following beside them are not to be underestimated.

To obtain the heart of the nine-headed monkey, a fierce battle is likely inevitable.

"Liu Yi, keep an eye on the corpse. I'll take care of these two little foxes." Sun Wuse walked forward with a smile.

A fox spirit chuckled and said, "Who said there are only two of us?"

“We foxes always travel in packs,” another fox spirit added with a laugh.

Sun Wuse didn't care at all and laughed, "Then call them all out, so I can send you all on your way at the same time."

"How arrogant!"

"Go to hell."

The two foxes leaped at Sun Wuse almost simultaneously.

Sun Wukong shook his eight heads, stirring up a howling wind.

Realizing they were in trouble, the two fox spirits twisted their bodies in mid-air and fled swiftly.

"Trying to run away?" Sun Wukong had no intention of letting them go, and he chased after them in a flash.

Liu Yi had no chance to call out to Sun Wuse.

Seeing how naturally the two fox spirits fled, Liu Yi knew they were doing it on purpose, to lure Sun Wuse away.

The fox spirits were probably most afraid of Sun Wukong.

Although Liu Yi was also very powerful, she was still human after all, and the fox spirits believed that Liu Yi would be easier to deal with than Sun Wuse.

Moreover, Sun Wukong has now been lured away. We only need to hold Liu Yi back for a moment to easily take the heart from the nine-headed monkey's corpse.

Sure enough, a dozen foxes emerged from the darkness and pounced on Liu Yi without saying a word.

Liu Yi brandished her longsword, its blade flashing like clusters of light, and with a series of clanging sounds, all the foxes were driven back.

But the foxes wouldn't give up. They attacked Liu Yi relentlessly, as if they were possessed.

However, under Liu Yi's longsword, the dozen or so foxes couldn't gain any advantage at all.

Liu Yi merely repelled them; she did not kill them.

If it were a real attack, a single swift stroke of the sword could take the lives of several foxes.

But as the fight went on, Liu Yi suddenly realized something was wrong.

The number of foxes was increasing, and even though she began to slay them with her sword, there was no sign of them decreasing.

Further on, even the corpse of the nine-headed monkey on the side disappeared without a trace.

Illusion?

Liu Yi quickly realized this, after all, foxes are always cunning, and fox spirits are best at illusions.

Those alluring female fox spirits can often use illusions to seduce any man.

However, Liu Yi didn't have a better way to break free from this illusion for the time being.

The thought that the nine-headed monkey's corpse might have been taken away by the fox spirit made her even more anxious.

If the nine-headed monkey's corpse were to be lost or damaged in her hands, she would have no face to see Bian Lang again.

In her anxiety, she suddenly remembered the juice secreted by the large insect.

Just in case, Bian Lang gave each of them a small bottle.

These fox spirits are indeed very good at creating illusions, but compared to that giant insect, they are ultimately inferior.

Liu Yi poured a little juice onto her finger and quickly smeared it on her eyes.

The foxes that filled the sky vanished in an instant, replaced by a group of foxes crawling all over the corpse of the nine-headed monkey, undoubtedly trying to find a way to break through the monkey's fur.

The foxes clearly hadn't realized that Liu Yi had already left the illusion, and they were helpless against the incredibly tough monkey skin.

The hydra's fur is very tough, something the Undead Zerg had previously tested.

However, these foxes clearly didn't believe in superstition and insisted on breaking the monkey's skin and digging out its heart.

Liu Yi swung her sword, showing no mercy. Wherever the sword's light passed, many foxes were decapitated.

The foxes were terrified and scattered in all directions.

Seeing that the nine-headed monkey's corpse had not been damaged, Liu Yi did not chase after it, lest she fall into the fox spirit's trap of luring the tiger away from the mountain again.

After a while, Sun Wuse returned looking dejected.

He chased after them for a long time but still couldn't catch up with the two fox spirits, which he found very embarrassing.
