Chapter 100

Chapter 100

We had just closed the shop and turned off the lights, so I couldn't see clearly. When I got closer to the streetlights, I saw that Li Fei's hands were black, her clothes were torn, and her eyes looked like she had been crying. I hurriedly asked her what happened.

She didn't say anything at first, but later she couldn't hold it back any longer and said while wiping her tears that her house was burned down.

Xiaoya and her friends were playing with fire with some other boys from the village and accidentally set fire to Li Fei's firewood pile. The children were timid and ran away when they saw the fire was so big.

Li Fei was working in the fields at the time, and it was her neighbor who first discovered it and ran over to tell her about it.

When she ran back home, she saw that her house was already engulfed in flames and was anxious to run back in. Fortunately, a neighbor stopped her. Later, she heard that it was Xiaoya and her friends who accidentally set the fire on fire, and she felt helpless.

If it weren't for the care of the villagers, she would have starved to death long ago. Now that her house has been set on fire by Xiao Ya and the others, she can't blame them. Then she remembered what I told her and had to come early.

After hearing this, Xiaorong and I felt very sad. I have lived on my own since I was very young, so I know how difficult it is. I hugged her, but Li Fei cried even harder.

After comforting her, Xiaorong and I took her to the mall to buy clothes. She had never been to a mall in her life, and when she saw the bright lights in the mall, she kept her head down.

Many people around us looked at us strangely when they saw the three of us. Even the clothing store clerk looked down on us.

"Why don't we go?" Li Fei said weakly.

I was just about to say something about the shop assistants when Xiaorong pointed at them and started cursing, "What kind of people are you? You're just waiters, aren't you? Why are you all so arrogant? You're just a shabby clothes seller, but you think you're superior to others."

Xiaorong is good at scolding people, I knew this when I was in Yingtan.

She kept scolding the shop assistants for five minutes. Li Fei pulled Xiaorong's hand and said, "Stop scolding. Let's go. My clothes are still wearable."

Xiao Rong held Li Fei's hand and said, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

He turned around and started cursing again.

At this moment, a mall manager came over and saw Xiaorong cursing so harshly, so he quickly came up to apologize.

I was angry and didn't stop Xiaorong.

She was so mad at me that we ended up moving to the place next door. The whole floor of the mall was devoted to clothes, both domestic and international, so why would we buy anything from her?

With the previous experience as a lesson, the waiters in this store were obviously more friendly and patiently helped Li Fei try on clothes.

She bought two sets in total, and the clerk was considerate enough to put the clothes that Li Fei took off into her handbag.

Li Fei's hair was still a little messy after she changed into new clothes, and her shoes didn't match her at all. Xiaorong and I bought her some new shoes and trimmed her hair.

Especially when her hair was trimmed, she looked like a green and blooming daisy.

Xiaorong said in surprise: "It turns out that Sister Fei is so beautiful."

"Yes, you are the ugliest in our Fuyuantang." I teased her.

"Sister, you are so annoying. No, I want to get plastic surgery!" Xiaorong shouted.

Actually, we were just joking. Li Fei then took Xiaorong's hand and said to her seriously, "It's not ugly, it's not ugly."

This scene made me laugh out loud, and Xiaorong, a little embarrassed, also laughed along.

By the time I finished helping Li Fei clean up, it was already past nine o'clock, time for a midnight snack.

Today's meal was a welcome for Li Fei. She was a little nervous, so Xiao Rong pulled her along, chatting and laughing while they ate, to ease her tension.

When she got home, Li Fei tentatively asked if there was a dormitory.

I told her that we didn’t have a dormitory, and Xiaorong and I lived together in a rented house, which served as our dormitory.

When we got home, the three of us cleaned up her room and then explained to her how to use the home appliances. She listened patiently. This was her first time encountering these things that we were used to.

After everything was done, the three of us sat on the sofa and watched TV. Actually, we didn't watch TV, we just chatted while watching TV.

Seeing that all three houses were occupied, I felt a warm feeling of home.

Thinking of home, I wonder how Uncle Gui Qing and the others are doing.

I have been trying my best not to think about this matter, but it always pops up inadvertently.

A week later, Uncle Gui Qing finally called me. My hands were shaking when I answered the phone.

"We've already discussed this with the tribe members. They don't object to your return to the Ghost Tribe, but the Feather Stone was damaged after all because of Ming Ge's theft, so you need to repair it. If you want to see Ming Ge, in addition to passing through the Ghost Gate, the high priest has added another requirement: you need to return to your ancestral home!"

"I see."

My heart beat faster when I heard that I could actually return to the ghost tribe.

We agreed on a meeting place and hung up the phone.

I didn't expect the high priest would ask me to return to my ancestral home. I remember hearing those bloody stories before, and he must have tried his best to prevent me from returning to my family.

I'm out of my mind right now.

It just so happened that Li Fei and Xiao Rong were both good at looking after Fuyuantang. Over the past two days, Li Fei had also become familiar with the work at Fuyuantang and could help Xiao Rong.

I've been thinking about returning to the Ghost Tribe tomorrow all day, and I've lost my appetite. It's impossible not to be nervous. My parents, my grandfather, I'll be seeing them soon.

I finally made it to the next morning and drove to the agreed location. Uncle Gui Qing was waiting for me. When he saw me, he smiled honestly.

Following his instructions, we drove eastward and arrived at Qindao.

This place is close to the sea and not very populated. I never thought the ghost tribe would be here. If I were to search blindly, I'm afraid I'd never find it.

Finally we arrived at a mountain. This mountain had been transformed into a huge formation, and there was nothing unusual about it from the outside.

Uncle Guiqing and I walked deep into the mountains until we came upon a village. Behind us was a steep cliff, and the village was right at the foot of it. There were about twenty or so houses in the village. As I entered, people began to emerge.

I feel a sense of blood connection from them.

These are all people from the ghost clan.

When I arrived, some of the tribesmen welcomed me warmly, while others looked indifferent. When I reached the head of the village, I saw a huge altar.

I have seen this altar in my dream, and I remember that there are several murals on the wall behind it.

The flames on the altar were lit, and the tribesmen gathered in a circle below the altar. Uncle Gui Qing whispered in my ear, "Go up, the high priest and the others are waiting for you up there."

I nodded, walked up the steps one by one, and went up to the altar.

The altar was particularly empty, with torches lit all around. In the front of the altar, there were five chairs, on which sat five elderly men wearing masks that were mysterious and frightening.

The one sitting in the center was the high priest, and the other four were elders.
