Chapter 19

Chapter 19

"Do you know that everything in the world has its destiny? Why don't you enter reincarnation quickly instead of harming the world?" Master Zhang said righteously.

When everyone saw Master Zhang talking to the air, they knew Lingling had appeared, so they all lowered their heads and dared not say a word.

"The world is so unfair! Why should I die here? I want someone to come down and accompany me!" Lingling's voice was very harsh. Her face was ferocious and she spoke with gritted teeth.

"This is your fate, you can't blame anyone else. If you continue to be stubborn, don't blame me for being ruthless!" Master Zhang said in a sonorous and powerful voice.

"Damn Taoist priest, I'll drag you into the water and let you taste the feeling of being soaked in cold water every day!" After saying that, Lingling blew a breath of foul air at Master Zhang, hitting the lightning in front of Master Zhang.

The turbid air collided with the thunder and lightning, making a crackling sound.

Master Zhang saw that Lingling was too angry and unwilling to enter the cycle of reincarnation. He sighed softly. With a flash of lightning wood in his hand, an electric net rushed towards Lingling.

Lingling was wrapped in the electric net and had no power to resist. The black energy on his body was growing stronger and stronger, and his soul was becoming more and more transparent. He was about to be destroyed.

"Lingling!" An anxious voice came from a distance.

I turned around and saw Aunt Xue stumbling towards me.

The two young men behind her couldn't even keep an eye on her.

Aunt Xue ran to Master Zhang, snatched his lightning wood, and blocked Lingling's way. She grabbed Master Zhang with both hands, preventing him from casting spells.

Master Zhang was quite helpless. He could be hard-hearted towards evil spirits, but he couldn't bring himself to kill a living person. For a moment, the two of them were in a stalemate.

It all happened so fast that no one could react.

Master Zhang's lightning-struck wood was stolen, the spell lost its effect, and the electric grid disappeared.

Lingling was already covered in blood.

"Ah!" Lingling screamed and flew towards Master Zhang.

Aunt Xue, who loved her daughter dearly, kept holding Master Zhang back, giving Lingling an opportunity. Her sharp teeth bit into Master Zhang's arm, but fortunately, Master Zhang's magical powers were so strong that his robes shone with golden light, and Lingling was repelled.

Lingling was unwilling to give up and was about to pounce on him again.

Master Zhang was about to make a move when Aunt Xue's noise disturbed his concentration, and he failed to complete the spell.

Everyone was at a loss when seeing this, but it was Grandpa Gan who acted decisively and asked the villagers to pull Aunt Xue away.

Unexpectedly, when everyone approached Aunt Xue, Lingling suddenly revealed her true identity.

Her eyes were bloodshot, a shrill sound came out of her mouth, her body was covered with bruises, her blue-black skin was emitting black air, and she rushed towards those who were pulling Aunt Xue.

Ordinary people had never seen such a scene before, and they were all scared and ran back desperately.

Lingling tried to catch up, but was knocked to the ground by a bolt of lightning from Master Zhang.

Aunt Xue saw Lingling lying on the ground, struggling to get up, with blood coming from the corner of her mouth, and hurriedly protected Lingling.

Although Lingling was protected by Aunt Xue, she still roared at Master Zhang, leaving two bloody marks on the ground with her hands.

Aunt Xue was in tears and hugged Lingling tightly.

Master Zhang also sighed, not knowing what to do for a moment.

My heart was touched.

I walked up to Master Zhang and asked, "Uncle, don't you have any other way to help her attain salvation?"

When Master Zhang saw me, a little girl, asking him this question, he was stunned at first. Then he looked at me carefully for a moment, his face filled with surprise. Finally, he said, "If my master were here, with his magical powers, he should be able to forcibly dissolve the resentment in her. But my magical powers are insufficient. I started chanting scriptures to help her transcend, but her obsession is too deep. Alas."

Master Zhang sighed helplessly, and for some reason, I felt extremely sad.

I slowly walked up to Aunt Xue and her daughter. Lingling grinned at me, but her body became darker and darker.

The lightning-struck wood used by Master Zhang, combined with his previous spell, has already damaged Lingling's foundation. I'm afraid that within an hour, Lingling will be dead.

"Don't come over, don't come over!" Aunt Xue buried her head in Lingling, trying to protect her daughter with her body.

Tears flowed from my eyes. I feel sorry for the love of parents. Even though Lingling has long been a ghost, she is still her child in Aunt Xue's eyes.

My tears, without my noticing, fell on the feather stone.

The feather stone suddenly emitted a clear light and floated up from my neck.

When Lingling saw the feather stone, she let out an even more shrill cry. She had been hurt by my feather stone before.

"Don't hurt her, please." Aunt Xue cried and kept saying it.

An indescribable compassion rose in my heart, emanating from my chest, pressing against my throat, and rising to my mind.

Then I saw that the feather stone became even more dazzling, wrapping Lingling in it.

After just a few breaths, a clear child's voice was heard.

"Mother!"

When Aunt Xue heard this, her mother immediately raised her head and looked at Lingling under her.

Lingling was wrapped in the light of the feather stone, slowly floating up, and finally standing on the ground.

She has changed now. She no longer holds any resentment. She is just an ordinary little girl with two pigtails on her head and tearful eyes. One look at her makes one feel pity for her.

"Lingling, Lingling, mom is here." Aunt Xue also saw Lingling regain her appearance before she died. This might be the daughter she missed so much in her dreams.

She knelt down in front of Lingling and hugged her.

"Mom, I'm so cold!" Lingling cried and hugged Aunt Xue.

Both mother and daughter were in tears.

At this moment, I felt a peaceful energy emanating from Lingling and entering the Yuhao Stone.

A strong wind blew up and the surroundings suddenly became pitch dark.

In the darkness, an old man with small cheeks and bare shoulders walked towards us.

When Master Zhang saw this person coming, he was shocked and lowered his head respectfully, not daring to look at him.

I was a little curious and observed the old man.

The old man looked at me with a kind smile. Then he walked up to Lingling and waved his hand, and Lingling was taken in his hand.

When Aunt Xue saw Lingling being held by him, she tried to snatch her daughter back in a panic.

The old man said slowly, "If you still don't want to let her go, she will dissipate into the three realms and six paths, and then there will really be nothing left."

Indeed, Lingling's body is becoming more and more transparent now.

Aunt Xue must have noticed this and said, "Please save Lingling." She kowtowed as she spoke.

The old man helped Aunt Xue up.

He said, "The bond between you and your daughter has ended. Hesitating to let go will only harm both of you. You're unwilling to let your daughter leave the world of the living, which will shorten your lifespan. Lingling's decision to avoid reincarnation for you will shorten her lifespan in the afterlife. Are you both willing to let go of your obsession?"

When Aunt Xue heard what he said, although she still felt hard to let go, she knew that doing so would not be good for Lingling, so she just nodded while crying, indicating that she was willing to let it go.

Lingling broke free from the old man's hand, ran to Aunt Xue, and wiped her tears: "Mom, don't cry."

Aunt Xue couldn't bear this. Her daughter, whom she had been thinking about day and night, finally appeared before her eyes, and now she was about to leave. How could she bear to let her go?

The mother and daughter hugged each other tightly, their tears soaking each other's clothes.

"The time has come, why haven't you come back yet!" The old man's voice was shocking. Although Aunt Xue was reluctant, she let go of Lingling and let her be pulled away by the old man.

The old man gave Lingling a rattle with a kind face. Lingling took it, turned it in her hand, and it made a crisp sound.

Lingling skipped away, being led by the old man's hand. With the other hand, she shook a rattle and laughed sweetly.

She finally looked back at Aunt Xue and waved the rattle in her hand at her, just like she did when she was a child playing in front of her mother.

The figures of the two people gradually disappeared into the darkness, and only the sound of the rattle still echoed in their ears.
