Chapter 39

Chapter 39

Wang Hai picked up a book with the title "Wuqi Jing" on it. It is a scripture used for spiritual practice. It not only contains the methods of Xuanmen cultivation, but also a powerful formation based on the four directions of heaven, earth, wind and cloud, and the four wonders of dragon, tiger, bird and snake.

The two brothers were extremely excited to get the precious book. It was said that Wang Hai and Wang Ze were quite talented in cultivation. They learned it by themselves without a teacher and actually practiced the "Wu Qi Jing" to the fullest.

Now that I have the skills, I look at Black Mountain in a different light. I used to think that there were plenty of game in Black Mountain, enough to support my family, but now, from a feng shui perspective, it really is, as the old Taoist priest said, a natural "place for promotion and wealth."

But the two also knew that they were not blessed enough and could not afford such a feng shui situation. If they forced their ancestors to be in such a situation, they would suffer backlash.

So the two of them pondered over it, and they actually came up with a solution. It was to use the Heaven-Fan-Flipping Formation recorded in the Wuqi Sutra to turn the world upside down and turn thinness into thickness, so that the descendants of the Wang family would become extremely wealthy and powerful.

The two brothers immediately set about arranging a formation around Black Mountain. First, they dug a large, round pit in front of the mountain, resembling an inverted tomb. Inside, they built seventy-two houses, each serving as a ground stake.

This formation is rather complicated. Even with the two of them's construction efficiency, it took them more than ten years to complete the main part.

Just when the mission was about to be accomplished, a group of refugees arrived from Heishankan.

The two brothers were kind enough to take them in. Heishankan suddenly became bustling. Initially, it was just their family, but now it became a small village with dozens of households. When the refugees arrived at Heishankan, they saw the two brothers building something every day. Curious, they asked what they were doing.

Although they were simple-minded, they also knew that wealth should not be shown off, so they just said a few words to fool the person.

Little did they know, however, that these refugees were no pushovers. Rumors began to spread among them, claiming a treasure was hidden, and the secret lay with the two brothers. The Black Mountain's unique terrain convinced the refugees that the treasure was hidden, and they believed the brothers must know where it was. So they set about plotting against the two, inviting them to a dinner party under the pretext of thanking the brothers for taking them in. In reality, the food and wine had been poisoned.

The two brothers were unaware of the evil nature of human nature, and they drank with the villagers until late that night. When the poison took effect, the villagers revealed their ferocious faces, trapped the two brothers, cut their tendons in their hands and feet, and forced them to tell them the whereabouts of the treasure.

The brothers then realized they had let a wolf into their house. But there's no such thing as regret in life. Now their limbs were broken, leaving them crippled. Even if they had a lot of skills, they couldn't use them. Furthermore, the "Wuqi Jing" they'd learned focused more on formations and had little to no knowledge of magic. They could only surrender.

The brothers knew that even if they told them, they would surely die.

Seeking revenge, Wang Hai revealed the purpose of the Promotion and Wealth Bureau and told them that a blood sacrifice on Black Mountain would bring great wealth to the entire village. Unable to contain their greed, the refugees prepared to sacrifice the Wang brothers at dawn the next day. The brothers were carried to Black Mountain, and as Wang Hai had instructed, their blood was poured on the mountain's summit. However, they fell prey to Wang Hai's scheme.

Wang Hai knew he was doomed, so he hatched a plan. The main structure of the Heaven-Turning Formation was complete and already operational. The most taboo against such formations was contamination by blood before they were fully constructed. The brothers had been poisoned, their blood already tainted. Splashing it atop the Black Mountain had impacted the formation. The village once had a stream, but it was completely sucked into the well. This well, the village's connection between the two worlds, served as the core of the Heaven-Turning Formation.

Without water, this place was unbearable, and the refugees wanted to evacuate. However, the formation had already been activated, and it was contaminated by the blood. As a result, anyone over the age of fifty who left the Black Mountain would quickly wither, their entire blood being sucked into the well. Then, the next day, the well would automatically become clean.

The refugees finally realized that this was a trick set by the two brothers before they died.

But that's not all. At the end of each month, Black Mountain's position changes, a phenomenon actually caused by the Heaven-Turning-Earth-Flipping Formation. During those few days, the formation's center opens, revealing two worlds. Whenever this happens, the villagers become mummies in excruciating pain. They scratch their skin, bleeding into the dry earth as their flesh gradually shrivels, remaining mummified until the sun rises the next day.

The Wang brothers used this method to punish the villagers and their descendants, and there was no end in sight.

The scene before my eyes disappeared. I didn’t expect that Heishankan had such a history.

The suffering endured by the villagers all stemmed from the evil deeds of their ancestors. As for the fate of the Wang brothers, I don’t know whether it was just a coincidence or they were really unlucky and could not suppress the luck of getting promoted and making a fortune.

But the most important thing right now is to get out of the coffin and walk out of Heishankan.

I banged against the coffin with all my might, and even though I was possessed by a ghost, it took me a long time. When I broke the coffin and came out, I saw that "I" and Sister Ma had become two men.

"The Wang brothers?" I said, looking at the two of them.

"It's really a good idea to have a pillow when you feel sleepy." Wang Hai smiled sinisterly.

He muttered a few incomprehensible spells, and I felt like my soul was being torn apart. That "me" also covered my head, in agony.

A strange will tried to invade my brain, and I was shocked. This was the soul transfer method. Wang Hai actually wanted to be reborn in my body. My ghost spirit, which had always been indestructible, was actually suppressed by him.

This wronged soul who has been practicing in secret for four hundred years, and is also a member of the Xuanmen sect, is indeed not comparable to those ordinary ghosts.

"The Moon Emperor shines brightly, the Sun Emperor illuminates. The four truths and three energies protect my soul and spirit!" I chanted the soul-protecting spell to resist Wang Hai's possession.

Under the effect of the soul protection spell, my soul emitted silver light and forced Wang Hai out.

And the other "me" was actually glowing all over.

This made Wang Hai terrified. A black gas flew out from the top of the head of that "I", and then I felt a heart-to-heart connection with her.

This is a soul connection, so real, just like my own three souls and seven spirits now.

At this point, I finally understood Wang Hai's method. He used the souls of those refugees and their descendants to cultivate the three souls and seven spirits, and then absorbed their essence and blood and stored it in the eye of the formation. I'm afraid it won't be long before the essence and blood absorbed in the past four hundred years will be integrated into one. At that time, they will probably be immortal.
