Chapter 44

Chapter 44

I wondered why she could stay in the human world for so long. It seems that Feng Er must have known some unconventional ways to hide his wife's aura, otherwise the ghost would not have been able to find her.

I quickly folded more than ten gold ingots with yellow paper, burned them with the ghost, and gave them to the ghost.

"Please don't make things difficult for it. Just take this money as compensation for your hard work," I said.

As the saying goes, money makes the world go round. It's a bit of a lie, but it's true. You can't ask someone to do something for you empty-handed. When the ghost saw the gold ingots, a golden light flashed in his two black eyes. But he probably didn't dare take any because he was concerned about my identity.

I forced it on him and asked him not to embarrass Feng Er's wife along the way.

He readily agreed and was about to take the ghost away.

"Ah!" A child's cry sounded from a distance. He knew his mother was leaving, and he felt it in his heart, so he started crying. This cry was not a big deal. When Feng Er's wife heard her child crying, she was about to enter the reincarnation cycle, but she suddenly felt worried and flew towards Feng Erzang.

I thought to myself that this was not good.

The ghost messenger was really furious. The last time he came, he was tricked by Feng Er. This time, he was about to leave, but he ran away under the ghost messenger's nose. How could this be tolerated? I shook my head slightly. It seemed that this matter could not be resolved peacefully.

The ghost whipped Feng Er's wife angrily, and she immediately let out a shrill cry.

Feng Er heard his wife's heartbreaking screams and ran out of the darkness, holding the Bagua mirror in his hand, ready to shine it at the ghost messenger. Without hesitation, I fired my golden-feathered flying arrow at the Bagua mirror. The Bagua mirror was destroyed by my golden-feathered flying arrow, rendering it useless. I quickly ran to Feng Er and stopped him.

The underworld has its own rules. His wife has repeatedly broken them, so even I can't stop the ghost messenger. If Feng Er's Bagua mirror had caught the ghost messenger, while it wouldn't have hurt him, it would have inevitably angered him, adding to the chaos. Then, it wouldn't just be Feng Er's wife's fault; Feng Er wouldn't be able to escape the punishment of the underworld.

The ghost whipped his wife eighteen times. She lay on the ground dying, but still crawled towards her child.

I couldn't bear to watch this scene and turned my head away.

I couldn't bear to watch any longer, let alone Feng Er. The child in his arms was crying loudly, his wife lay on the ground, breathing weakly, and now I was holding him back. It was as if he was furious. He muttered something, then took out a small flute and began to play.

A burst of corpse gas rose into the sky from the direction of Feng Er's house.

I looked at that place in shock, and saw a corpse covered with magical weapons jumping towards us.

I gave Feng Er a deep look. The flute in his hand was a bone flute, a special kind of resurrection instrument. His father, Old Feng, had been transformed into a zombie! This zombie was no ordinary zombie. Old Feng's transformed zombie roared at the moon, a massive suction force erupted from its mouth, and then aimed at us.

A gust of wind came from behind me. I held onto Feng Er tightly and took the child from his arms. The ghost was also startled by the sudden change, but he was a ghost after all, and he stabilized himself in just a moment.

But he was able to keep his composure, but Feng Er's wife's already weak spirit couldn't keep its composure at all, and flew towards the zombies with the strong wind.

I quickly let go of Feng Er and pointed at his wife's spirit.

But it was too late, his wife was sucked into Old Feng's mouth!

We've all heard of ghosts possessing humans. We've also heard of ghosts possessing ghosts, but most people haven't heard of zombies eating ghosts. Zombies are as strong as steel, invulnerable to weapons, but their intelligence is relatively low, making them easier to deal with. Now that they've absorbed ghosts, their intelligence has increased dramatically. With this fusion of zombies and ghosts, who knows what kind of transformations will unfold!

The ghost messenger was horrified to see the ghost of Feng Er's wife being eaten by a zombie, and rushed forward with the soul-locking chain. This time, not only did his mission fail, but something went wrong. He was already angry, and the soul-locking chain hit the zombie's head.

This time it was my turn to be surprised. The soul-locking chain hit the zombie's head, sending out sparks, but it was obvious that the zombie was completely unharmed.

"Be careful!" I shouted anxiously.

The zombie breathed out a breath of corpse gas at the ghost catcher, who immediately flew backwards and lay on the ground. The ghost gas on his body quickly disappeared, and it looked like he was seriously injured.

I didn't care about Feng Er, handing the child to him. I rushed to the ghost officer, helped him up, and placed my hand on his chest to dispel the corpse qi from him. I filled the feather stone with ghost spirit, transformed it into ghost energy, and injected it into the ghost officer's body, rapidly healing him.

Seeing that the ghost energy on him was stable, I said, "Leave this to me, you leave first."

After seeing the zombies' strength, the ghost officer didn't dare to linger any longer and said, "I'll go get some help!"

After saying that, he jumped directly into the ground.

I watched the zombie warily, shooting the golden-feathered arrows at it. Three golden arrows penetrated its body, only half an inch in, and could no longer penetrate, eventually disappearing into its body.

Is this thing so powerful? It doesn’t even have much effect on my Golden Feather Arrow.

Old Feng exhaled a breath of corpse gas at me.

The corpse's aura glowed dimly in the night. I quickly dodged it, grabbed a lightning and fire bead, and threw it at it. The power of the lightning and fire bead is beyond words, enveloping the zombie in a blaze of thunder and fire. It exploded with crackling sounds. It seemed I needed the lightning and fire bead after all!

I was observing the zombie's transformation within the Thunder and Fire Pearl when Old Feng roared again and flew out. It flew toward his son. I drew a Five Thunder Talisman and struck it. It paused in mid-air for only a moment before leaping in front of Feng Er.

Feng Er was grabbed by his hands and screamed in pain.

I rushed behind the zombie, my arms filled with ghostly energy, and struck it in the back. The zombie stumbled, and Feng Er was thrown to the ground not far away. He hugged his son tightly, trying to get away from Old Feng.

This zombie is really tricky. I didn't expect it to be so powerful after eating a ghost. I don't know why Feng Er turned his own father into a zombie, but now is not the time to ask that. I have to deal with this ghost zombie first.

I used the Fire Bell Technique to cast six flames onto the open ground, simultaneously drawing a hexagram within them with my hand. The ghost zombie tried to fly away, but I grabbed its ankle and pulled it down with all my strength.

I quickly drew a corpse-fixing talisman and stuck it on it. This couldn't completely freeze it, but it only took two or three breaths of time.

I took the child from Feng Er, holding him in one hand. With my other hand, I placed the tip of my thumb on the base of my middle finger, then pressed my middle finger against my thumb. Then, I put all four fingers together, placed my thumb on the palm of my hand, and pointed my fingertips toward the sky. I said aloud, "The sky is round and the earth is square. The laws are nine chapters long. The six golden stars radiate the power. They scare away evil!"

As I chanted the Corpse Formation Curse, the formation I had just drawn on the ground emitted a strong golden light, illuminating the entire night sky and enveloping the four of us!
