During this period, Ah Fang had been trying to prevent Chen Dong from accessing Hong Kong newspapers and television reports.
Because she didn't want Chen Dong to regain his memory so quickly, nor did she want him to find his family and leave the braised food shop so soon.
When the time for parting finally came, Afang was filled with disappointment.
"Xiao Lu, come here, I have something to tell you," Afang called to Chen Dong.
Chen Dong was puzzled. After quickly taking care of a few guests, he went to the backyard with Afang.
"What's wrong?" Chen Dong asked cautiously.
“There’s something I need to confess to you,” Afang said through gritted teeth to Chen Dong. “Actually, there have been people looking for you outside Jinyan Street these past two days.”
"Someone is looking for me?" Chen Dong asked incredulously.
He didn't know his own name, his own identity, or even that he had any family. For more than half a year, no one had been looking for him, and Chen Dong thought he had been abandoned by his family and friends.
"Xiao Lu, your family has found you. You will definitely leave, right?" Afang asked the question that had been weighing on her heart for a long time.
Chen Dong didn't know how to answer. For someone like him who had lost his memory, finding his family meant knowing who he was and regaining his true identity.
“Ah Fang, not knowing your own name and identity is a very painful thing,” Chen Dong said frankly.
"I understand." Afang nodded, but tears inexplicably welled up in her eyes.
Just then, someone in front of the braised food shop called out loudly, "Afang, come out quickly! A customer is looking for you."
Afang then pulled Chen Dong out through the small door of the braised food shop.
"Boss! We've finally found you."
As soon as Wolong saw Chen Dong's face, he rushed up and grabbed him, as if afraid that he would disappear again.
Chen Dong instinctively flinched, looking helplessly at Afang.
Afang explained, "They are looking for you. I already spoke to them on the phone this morning."
"Boss, what's wrong with you? It's me, Wolong! Why are you hiding from me?" Wolong asked incredulously.
This dramatic scene has already attracted the attention of the customers in the braised food shop. In order not to affect the shop's business, and also so that Chen Dong can have a good talk with his family, Afang invited them all to the backyard.
Afang's courtyard was very small, and it became even smaller after five or six people arrived. Xiao Liuzi and Lao Huli were squeezed to the very edge.
Chen Dong looked at the bodyguard team and felt that they were both familiar and unfamiliar.
When Xiao Liu saw that the boss didn't recognize them, he whispered to the old fox, "What's going on? The boss seems... not to remember who we are?"
"Shut up!" the old fox tugged at Xiao Liu.
Seeing that Chen Dong was still resistant to him, Wolong told Chen Dong the whole story of how they were attacked by the assassin group that day, how Chen Dong arranged for him to leave alone to lure away the enemy, and how he and Xiao Liuzi, the old fox, hid in a house.
Chen Dong shook his head. "I have no recollection of these things."
Seeing that Wolong's eyes were almost popping out of his head, Afang came out to explain, "We found him at the mouth of the river."
"When we found him, he was soaking wet and had a serious head injury. He didn't remember who he was or where he came from, so we took him in at the braised food shop. It's been more than half a year now."
Wolong frowned, looking at the living Chen Dong in disbelief once more. "So, he's lost all his memories?"
Afang nodded. "That's roughly the idea."
"Boss, do you remember? You're the boss of Longteng Group?" Wolong asked.
Upon hearing this, both Afang and Chen Dong widened their eyes.
Afang could guess that Chen Dong's identity was not simple; he might be a rich man or an official. But she never expected that Xiao Lu was actually the boss of Longteng Group.
Chen Dong was equally surprised. He had lost all his memories, but whenever he came into contact with knowledge about the stock market or finance, he would become very excited. Some of his stock market manipulation techniques were like instincts ingrained in his body.
He had analyzed that he might have worked in the financial industry before. Later, he saw Zhou Huimin's face on TV and felt that it was very familiar. He also wondered if he had worked at Longteng Group and had had contact with Zhou Huimin.
He never imagined that he was actually the boss of Longteng Group.
Afang suddenly became somewhat skeptical of Wolong. She tentatively asked, "The interim committee of the Longteng Group president has already issued a statement on the public platform that their boss is enjoying a vacation."
"You suddenly say he's the boss of Longteng, how can I believe you?"
Chen Dong rarely appears in public as the owner of Longteng, so many people have never seen his face.
In other words, although everyone knows that the boss of Longteng is a very capable and visionary young man, no one knows what he looks like.
Besides, when Ah Fang first met Chen Dong, he was being chased and that's why he ended up in Hong Kong.
In other words, not only are Chen Dong's family members looking for him, but his enemies are also looking for him.
Afang had no idea whether the group of people in front of her were friends or foes.
At this point, Afang became more cautious and pushed Chen Dong back:
"I was too hasty. I called you to come to the store without asking who you were."
“Mr. Wolong, you just said that your boss was being chased by assassins, which is why he was separated from you. Now he has lost his memory, and you have nothing to prove your identity. How can I trust you?”
