Four days later, Chen Dong appeared in Yanjing.
Jiang Fei personally came to the airport to pick him up.
Upon seeing Chen Dong from afar, Jiang Fei happily went to greet him.
"Boss, you're here. How are you? I was going to go over there myself to deal with what happened to you in Qin Chuan, but..."
"I'm fine!"
Chen Dong waved his hand, interrupting him with a smile, "Alright, we're brothers, no need for such formalities. Can't you see I'm standing right in front of you perfectly fine?"
Jiang Fei smiled and nodded, then led Chen Dong and his group into the car that their hotel used to entertain foreign guests.
A long line of imported cars, driving them really looks incredibly impressive.
Those around them saw this and were practically drooling.
"Heh, where are you from, so arrogant?"
“They’re probably Hong Kong businessmen. Judging from their clothes and appearance, they don’t seem like ordinary people.”
"Yes, I think I heard them talking; it was a Hong Kong accent!"
"Oh my, overseas connections! That's incredible!"
Chen Dong and Jiang Fei were in the same car. Although their relationship was no longer the same as before, with one becoming the boss and the other the subordinate.
However, this did not affect the relationship between the two.
"Brother Dong, I was so worried when I heard about your accident last time. I'm so glad you're alright now, otherwise, I really don't know what I would do in the future."
Most of what Jiang Fei said came from the heart.
Despite his current success, no one wants to go back to their past experiences.
Chen Dong simply smiled and briefly recounted to Jiang Fei what had happened to him in Myanmar.
Although Chen Dong spoke in a very casual tone, Jiang Fei still found it somewhat unbelievable.
He wasn't surprised that it involved gambling on jade.
Aside from gambling on jade, Myanmar doesn't seem to have much else to offer.
But that's not the key point.
The key point is that a gunfight later broke out because of the jade gambling.
This is terrifying! A gunfight involving a hundred or so people! It's not like we're at wartime.
Jiang Fei had never even heard of him, let alone seen him.
In the past, when fights broke out in the gun-wielding area around the train station, it was usually just a matter of using a knife.
This trip to Myanmar is completely incomparable to this one.
If these words hadn't come from Chen Dong's mouth, who would have thought that such a blatant thing could happen in peacetime?
Fortunately, Chen Dong survived this ordeal without serious injury.
However, when Jiang Fei heard Chen Dong say that the tiger died because it was saving him, Jiang Fei still felt a chill of fear.
At this moment, although Chen Dong appeared calm on the surface, Jiang Fei could still detect a trace of sadness in his words.
"Boss, this really isn't your fault. Who would have thought that something like this could happen in peacetime? Life is truly unpredictable."
Although Jiang Fei offered words of comfort, he remained vigilant.
As wealth and status continue to rise.
No one is willing to die like this; it seems like it's time to hire some bodyguards.
Jiang Fei couldn't help but think of these things.
"Yes, anything can happen, especially in such a dangerous place..."
As he spoke, Chen Dong responded and added, "Brother Fei, although the overall situation in China is not bad, you high-ranking officials should still provide yourselves with some security personnel."
"I understand, Brother Dong. Don't worry, I've worked so hard to achieve my current wealth and status, I don't want to die yet."
Jiang Fei chuckled; he had heard about what had happened. Chen Dong was not only heartbroken and remorseful over the tiger's death, but he also spent a large sum of money to avenge it.
He is fortunate to have met such a loyal and affectionate person.
"Brother Dong, it's all in the past now. None of the brothers wanted to see Tiger die. There's still a long time ahead, don't make things difficult for yourself, look forward."
Jiang Fei has known Chen Dong for so long and has a deep understanding of Chen Dong's personality. He is just worried that Chen Dong will not be able to get out of the shadow in his heart.
"Yes, the dead are gone, but the living must look forward. From now on, I will try my best to take good care of Tiger's family."
While we were chatting, the car had already arrived at the office building.
After getting out of the car and resting for a while, the group began to listen to Jiang Fei give him a work report.
The hotel project is currently progressing normally.
Although there are sometimes some troubles, they are all minor troubles that Jiang Fei can solve on his own without even needing to ask others for help.
After listening, Chen Dong instructed him to pay attention to issues such as the construction period and the quality of the project.
Suddenly, Chen Dong realized that private construction teams were gradually increasing, and some of their construction projects were also contracted out to private individuals. With economic development, one of the most likely major social problems to arise was the issue of migrant workers' wages.
Many construction companies delay paying migrant workers' wages, while some contractors withhold money or even abscond with the funds.
Chen Dong didn't know if this phenomenon existed now, but he had to remind Jiang Fei not to let this problem occur in his company.
Upon hearing Chen Dong's question, Jiang Fei replied, "We have ample funds, so we settle accounts with them monthly, not at the end of the year. However, I will inquire further to see if we should pay the contractor first, and whether the contractor will deduct money in the process, or deduct too much."
Chen Dong estimated that the contractor would probably take a cut. However, this was standard industry practice, and as long as it wasn't too outrageous, they didn't need to worry about it. The main concern was preventing the contractor from running off with the money; that would put them in a difficult position.
Jiang Fei thought for a moment and said, "We can sign a contract with those workers and contractors, set the contractors' commission rates, and then pay the money directly to each of them without going through the contractors. Although it's a bit more troublesome, it can reduce a lot of risks for us."
