Chapter 974 Developing an Online Farm!

Animal husbandry is well-developed in Europe and America, and their farm mentality is stronger than that of China.

Chen Dong gritted his teeth and quickly adjusted his thinking. "Actually, it's quite simple to find the commonalities among young people from these continents."

"It's also about farm sentiment."

"The American farm mentality is primarily rooted in hunting, large landowners, and local power; the Chinese farm mentality is mainly about cultivation, harvesting, and trading agricultural products."

"Europe's farm mentality mainly involves grazing livestock in pastoral areas and developing dairy products; South Asia's farm mentality mainly involves the large quantities of tropical fruits that South Asia, as the land of plenty, possesses, as well as the harvests from overseas trade."

This statement succinctly explains the commonalities of farm sentiment across several continents.

Chris thought about it and realized that the farm mentality could indeed serve as a basis for their future development.

"So, we're developing four different versions of ICQ for each of the four major regions?" Chris asked.

Chen Dong smiled and said, "If we develop different versions, wouldn't that isolate the users of our four major ICQ regions?"

"This does us no good in terms of achieving economies of scale in our products."

Chris looked at Chen Dong, who then said, "Actually, we can combine all these farm sentiments together."

"That is to say, use one game to cover four different groups of gamers with different preferences."

Chris still didn't understand. He frowned and tried hard to connect the relationships between these regions.

“Our game can be designed like this: grow vegetables on the European grasslands and exchange them for livestock such as cattle, sheep and pigs. In the game, there are wolf packs. The alpha wolf leads the pack to hunt cattle and sheep. Hunters have to outwit and fight the wolves to protect the pasture.”

"Users can choose to be either the alpha wolf or the hunter. If they choose to be the alpha wolf, they must attack the animals on other people's farms. If they choose to be the hunter, they can pick up a gun to hunt down the wolf pack in order to protect the farm from being destroyed by the alpha wolf."

"Next, we can build on this and create a group of soldiers to destroy castles and land, and then design a general to fight in advance."

"In this way, the entire farm combines hunting and animal husbandry, farming and warfare, adventure and leisure. As for which category users prefer, that's up to them."

It took Chris a while to figure out the whole game structure.

According to Chen Dong's design, they brought together the characteristics of all regions, including large farms in the United States, small farms and mulberry fields in China, the vast grasslands of Europe, and the fertile lands of South Asia.

“I understand,” Chris exclaimed, speechless with excitement. “This is a fantastic idea. I think if our product can perfectly present this architecture, ICQ will be invincible in the market.”

Chris is a young man, and he represents some of the mindsets of young people when it comes to gaming and socializing.

When Chen Dong presented this framework, he wasn't very confident because he felt that farming games and farm-themed games might work in China, but not necessarily in Europe and the Americas.

After seeing Chris's reaction, he felt that his idea was still possible to realize.

After the meeting, Chris locked himself away and carefully reviewed the game's structure that the big boss had just told him.

For an entire day, no matter who from the engineering department knocked on the door, he wouldn't open it.

A day later, Chris walked up to the product architect with documents and a large pile of materials and said:

"These are all my ideas for the ICQ upgrade and optimization project. You are an expert in architecture, so I have written all my ideas and some details in the document. Take a look for yourself."

The product architect in the engineering department nodded quickly when he saw Chris with dark circles under his eyes.

After handing over the architectural ideas to the engineering department, Chris was so tired that he wanted to go back to his apartment to rest.

Although the product architecture documents have been submitted, Chris still feels uncertain.

After all, the product is still in the abstract and hypothetical stage, and no one knows what the final product will look like.

Lying in his apartment bed, Chris tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

He opened the ICQ software on his computer and saw that the owner of the computer room in the Huaxia area was also online, so he greeted him.

"Hello, Mr. Jiqing."

Ji Qing, who had been sitting in front of his computer all day, noticed Chris's message instantly and quickly replied: "Big Engineer, it's been a long time since you've been online. Have you been very busy lately?"

Chris smiled wryly at his computer and then typed a message: "I'm just too busy. The company has been busy fighting with QQ lately."

"QQ from Tencent!" Ji Qing's interest was immediately piqued. "QQ is really popular in our China region right now. Basically, all the trendy young people have downloaded QQ."

"I've heard that many large companies in the China region are now using QQ to facilitate communication between their employees."

"But let me tell you, none of them are as good as me. I know the owner of QQ."

Upon seeing this text, Chris immediately tensed up. "Is the owner of QQ Jack Ma?"

"Let me tell you, when QQ was first launched, its data was particularly bad. Back then, Jack Ma even came to my shop."

Ji Qing typed a line, "But now, QQ has made a comeback. The situation is different now. Boss Wang has become a giant in social networking and is highly sought after by the media. He no longer has time to come to my store for entertainment."
