These days, the subordinates in charge of financial operations are all in a state of high excitement.
For them, everything seemed so wonderful; after all, they made money, and a lot of money at that, they made a fortune.
Leaving aside others, Wangcai alone made it very obvious.
Now, whenever Wangcai sees Chen Dong, he goes into chatterbox mode, constantly praising Chen Dong.
"Boss, you are my idol! You are my sun! Your control over the financial field is simply godlike!"
His biggest concern was that Chen Dong had won the battle almost single-handedly.
His opponents include not only the Mexican government, but also the Quantum Fund, the Koala Fund, and other funds, as well as numerous banks.
Although Chen Dong had already revealed his entire plan and sent Wangcai to America to carry out a series of operations, which were a great success, Wangcai still refused to believe that it was his doing.
To him, his boss, Chen Dong, was truly amazing.
Although he was effectively in cahoots with them in the attack on the Mexican peso, he was also in competition with these funds.
The market is only so big; if he makes more money, then others will make less.
Now, under Chen Dong's manipulation, they have no choice but to rush into the market and try their best to create more empty positions in order to complete the harvest of Pyros.
The issue now is no longer whether they are willing to invest, but how much they are willing to invest. Everyone is rushing to join the frenzied plan to short the peso.
...
The headquarters of a hedge fund located near Central Park.
A meeting is in progress.
The meeting was chaired by Soros.
Many of the attendees were also heads of hedge funds.
They also share a common identity: they are all Freemasons.
In other words, this was actually a meeting and social gathering for Freemason members.
"Gentlemen, this operation against the Mexican peso is going very smoothly!" Soros said first, clapping his hands.
A round of enthusiastic applause erupted from the audience.
"After 14 months of planning, we have finally achieved our ultimate victory."
The audience erupted in enthusiastic applause once again.
"Through continuous efforts, we have achieved many things we had only dreamed of. Many people believe that this tremendous success will become the driving force for our continued greatness in the future."
"However, here I want to offer you a different set of standards and a different perspective: this success has significant flaws; in fact, it could be said that it was a failure, a serious failure. Perhaps some of you don't believe this, so please listen to my reasons and see if I'm judging based on facts!"
Upon hearing Soros's words, the previously enthusiastic atmosphere in the room immediately cooled down.
The crowd looked somewhat bewildered and at a loss.
However, many of them fell into deep thought, seeing the same problem.
"According to our original plan, we were to complete the setup of the Mexican peso in December of this year, so that it would abandon the fixed exchange rate system. But now, things have obviously gotten out of our control, right? It's only September now, but it has already depreciated, and more than half a month has passed."
"While we can't completely control time like true gods, at least our margin of error should be small, even if it's just very close. And now, the result is self-evident!"
As he spoke, Soros shrugged, looking quite helpless.
“We lost control of the situation. We were unable to demonstrate our value and became pathetic creatures swept along by the circumstances. We couldn’t control ourselves, nor could we control the direction of our cash flow.”
"Perhaps, some people may find this kind of experience that doesn't require deliberate control to be mysterious, but in reality, it is a kind of loss of control, something we must try our best to avoid."
Everyone wore a thoughtful expression.
"This is just from a macro perspective. On a smaller scale, one problem we all face is that we are being pushed around. I don't know how many people have the feeling that there is an invisible hand that is arranging many things for us."
Soros's words were met with a commotion from the crowd.
Clearly, Soros's words reminded them of a new possibility.
That means there really is a mastermind behind it all.
"This invisible hand, like the 'hand of God,' directs us and drives our actions. That's why we rush in and repeatedly enter the Mexican financial sector, turning it upside down."
"Then, we were all satisfied, thinking that our strategy had worked. But looking back now, we realize that what we did was not something we were willing to do or a choice we made voluntarily, but rather something we were forced to do."
"Then we'll say that we made the decision ourselves. But, gentlemen, think about it, is that really the case? How many hints, how many overt schemes, forced us to do this?"
The crowd fell even more silent.
Many people lowered their heads, for Soros's words struck a nerve, making them realize that they had been used as pawns.
But some people disagreed and directly refuted the claims:
