When the roast duck chef brought two roast ducks and showed off his knife skills by slicing them, the group was amazed.

Many old shops in later generations used this method to explain their food culture, but Quanjude was one of the earliest to do so at the time.
This also made Quanjude one of the most luxurious restaurants back then.

"Is this stuff really that delicious?"
Is there something wrong with my mouth?
"I don't think there's much to eat here."

Not only Gangzi, but Bai Yejin, Donglai, and Zhou Xuelan also thought that Quanjude roast duck was expensive and not tasty.
Even Donglai was starting to consider abandoning the idea of bringing some roast duck back from Kyoto.
Seeing that they were taking it seriously, Lin Yifeng smiled and explained.
"That's because you ate too much."
"Duck is naturally oily."
"I ate too much and felt uncomfortable from the greasiness."
Zhou Xuelan nodded repeatedly.

If you come to Kyoto in winter, you absolutely must try this hot pot.
Upon entering the room, the entire space was filled with smoke. Many guests, dressed in light clothing, were gathered around a small copper stove at a round table, on which were plates of bright red mutton.
There were even more people here than at Quanjude at lunchtime.
The room was packed, and the group found a round table and sat down, led by a waiter.
"Three plates of fresh meat, six portions of 28% sauce, and a hot pot with two broths..."
"Gentlemen, what would you like to drink?"
"We have Bingfeng, Yanjing, and Nu'erhong wine here."
The waiter held up the menu and asked questions.
Gangzi and Donglai, who had been shopping all day, clearly wanted a whole bottle of beer. Just as they were about to order, they saw Lin Yifeng waving to the waiter.
Do you have Shaoxing wine?
The waiter paused slightly, seemingly surprised.
"Yes, would you like yellow wine?"
Lin Yifeng nodded and recited the instructions skillfully.
"Warm some Shaoxing wine and add ginger slices."
"Give us some."
"A little kid can just take an iced soda."
The waiter grinned when he saw Lin Yifeng's order.
"Sir, this isn't your first time visiting Kyoto, is it?"

This shout attracted many of the old Kyoto residents inside the house.

Gangzi and Donglai were a bit confused. They both knew about rice wine, but this was the first time they had ever seen people drink rice wine while eating hot pot.
